My mum stayed at Widnes Hall for two weeks respite care, whilst I went on holiday in February.

From the moment we entered we were made to feel like we were friends, everyone was so welcoming and any fears of leaving mum were quickly gone. I can't stress how important this was.

The en-suite bedroom was lovely, as was the lounge and dining area. There were lots of activities throughout the day, bingo and a singer and it was lovely to see the residents enjoying themselves.

Every single member of staff was really lovely and caring and are a credit to the company.

If we ever need respite care for another holiday, Widnes Hall is the only place I would want to leave my mum.

From entering Widnes Hall, we were greeted with a pleasant greeting by all the staff. Mum couldn't settle at first but now she loves it and has certainly settled in. Mum is happier when she is kept active with different games or tasks. The entertainment is good too. I would recommend WH.

My dad has been a resident at Widnes Hall since May 2024. He is 91 and has mobility issues. Dad is so settled and happy there. He feels safe as he felt vulnerable living on his own. He has not looked so well in years as the care and kindness he receives are excellent. The staff are so wonderful and have helped Dad feel as though Widnes Hall is his home. I have also received so much kindness at what was an emotional move from his bungalow.

My mum has been a resident for 18 months now and she has settled in very well. All staff are amazing and understanding. The food they serve is all homemade and fresh. All staff communicate with us and tell us of any concerns. The doctor comes every week and checks for any needs. The hairdresser on site is fab and my mum looks forward to having her hair done every week. Always doing activities with the residents my mum enjoys it. I would 100% recommend Widnes Hall and feel secure in the knowledge my mum is being well looked after.

On the whole, I am pleased with the care. I know my uncle is safe and looked after. I do think it is expensive for what you get. He has to pay £20.00 to the Podiatrist and I think this should be included. He has to pay for a haircut which I think should be included. He needed a haircut a couple of months ago and it was not cut because they said he had no money. He does and all they needed to do was cut it and then ask me.

Would happily recommend this home to anyone for their loved one. Our mum spent over two and a half years on the upstairs dementia unit. She received the very best of care, always with compassion, understanding and dignity. The staff are a friendly dedicated and hard-working team who we came to think of as our extended family. They are really amazing you couldn't have any better people looking after your loved one.

Overall the staff look after my mum excellently. They know her likes and dislikes and her ways. She is bedridden now but they enjoy the time they spend with her and Mum responds.

Mum's room is in need of decorating and having spoken to management it will be done over the coming weeks. The staff will be very careful when they move Mum to another room.

Widnes Hall and all its staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for either the residents or their relatives. The relatives meetings they hold are very informative and the staff are very approachable and are a credit to the home. The first thing my mother-in-law said to me on her first day was "I'm home" which meant so much to me as I was the one who recommended Widnes Hall to the family. I've not seen her so happy in a long time and look forward to being able to sit out in the garden with her in summer. Thank you, Widnes Hall!

Staff friendly and efficient in going about their duties caring for the residents. Always having time for visitors and patience in answering their queries. Her room is always clean and tidy and she has settled in comfortably, being a resident for over 3 years. There is always some activity or sing-song taking place. Knowing that my wife is being taken care of so well, takes a lot of pressure off me as well.

We were so worried about mum going into care last year, but Widnes Hall has been amazing with her.

Staff are friendly and approachable and nothing ever feels like it’s too much trouble. Mum is unfortunately bedridden now, but before that, was able to partake in their activities, music, dance, sing along and just being part of their community in the lounge or dining space. I would definitely recommend Widnes Hall if you’re looking for care for your loved one.
