Wynyard Wood is such a beautiful home, and the staff and management team are excellent. My mother-in-law has settled in really well. She enjoys participating in the activities. It's the best place to meet her current needs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs care. Again, a massive thank you to all the staff working in the home.

Dad moved into Wynyard Woods after a decline in his dementia, following a hospital stay and period of assessment. From the start of the admission process to his settling in, he and the family have been treated with the utmost aspect, and for the first time I felt that we as a family had a voice and could advocate for him. Wynyard Woods really listened to us and ask about him as an understatement. They are amazing kind caring and supportive.

An outstanding care home that has looked after both of my grandparents for over 10 years, both of whom had dementia. The staff always went above and beyond and genuinely care a lot for their residents.

I can not thank them enough for everything they have done for my grandparents and our family

I just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff at Wynyard Woods. My mother became a resident there in January 2026. I've been so impressed by the passion and commitment Kath and Donna of the management team have to ensure the care team delivers first-class, individual, holistic care to their residents. All the staff are lovely, friendly and caring, which has really helped my mother to settle well. It's fantastic just how many beautifully furnished lounges there are to spend time with my mother in. My mother's own room is always clean and homely. Food choices are excellent. Would definitely recommend it to anybody else exploring care home options.

My grandad has and continues to be very well looked after at Wynyard Woods.
It has gave myself and my family peace of mind that he is safe and cared for.

He is thriving while there, he has put on weight and also has taken part in classes which help to keep him stimulated, it has also helped him through interacting with other residents within the home.

The staff at Wynyard Woods go above and beyond with the quality of care given to my mother. Her every needs are met. It is quite obvious that information is shared throughout by the relevant staff, as the ladies are always one step ahead and nothing is missed. At first, my mother was very reluctant to go into care. That has all been changed by the kindness shown by staff in day-to-day care. Well done, Wynyard Woods!

My mum stayed at Wynyard Woods for a few months between July and November 2025.
The home is clean, fresh and to a good standard.
I cannot fault the staff for their on-going commitment and professionalism in providing the very best care and environment for mum to feel safe and looked after.
From day one, the staff encouraged mum to be a part of the small community and participate in activities where possible. In mum's final days the staff demonstrated true compassion and understanding to ensure a dignified, pain free and respectful end.

I would have no hesitation in placing a loved one there.

My dad has settled nicely into Wynyard Woods Care Home. The staff are really caring and friendly. I consider them as my 2nd family, as I'm always here lol. We have all worked together, and Dad's medications are really helping him now, so his mood has lifted and he is starting to enjoy the simple things in life, watching TV and talking to some of the residents.

I could not wish for a nicer care home for my mum. Staff are caring, helpful and keep the family well-informed of Mum's issues, including how she thanks staff when they have supported her with a task. Staf put residents and families first. The home is very clean and well-presented. Nothing is a problem to staff if you need support. Thank you to all staff, including kitchen staff for good meals.

Kath
Kath Job Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2016

Hello, my Name is Kath, and I have been the registered Manager at Wynyard Woods for 10 years. I have worked at Wynyard since the day we opened, almost two decades ago, and have enjoyed a variety of roles in that time.

I feel very strongly about the provision of excellent social care for the elderly and have worked hard to ensure that the care at Wynyard Woods is tailored to meet the wishes and expectations of our residents. The provision of a pleasant and contemporary environment where residents and their families can feel “at home” is of paramount importance to me. I have studied extensively and continue to do so to ensure my skills and knowledge are equal to the role I occupy.

I have a grown-up family and like to spend time with my grandchildren. I love to travel in my spare time and absolutely adore holidays in my spiritual home - the Greek Islands.

Donna
Donna Job Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2017

Hi, my name is Donna, and I am a Deputy Manager at Wynyard Woods Care Home. I joined the team here in 2017 as a Team Leader and worked hard to progress to the role of Deputy Manager. I hold a diploma in Health and Social Care and studied Psychology and Counselling at Teesside University. I love my role at Wynyard and work hard to provide coaching and support for the staff team, the residents and their families.

My role provides me with the opportunity to meet some interesting characters and to learn about some amazing life stories. I have three children and a grandson whom I adore. My husband and I enjoy camping trips and foreign holidays as a way to unwind in our free time.

Leanne
Leanne Job Title:AdministratorJoined: 2022

My name is Leanne, and I have been an administrator in the care industry for many years. Wynyard Woods is like my second family; I have worked here since January 2022.

I really enjoy the variety of tasks which make up my role. I love finding new entertainers and experiences for our residents and producing the activity calendar and the monthly newsletter for our residents and families to enjoy. I also like to get involved in the exercise and activities when I can; they are great fun.

I am extremely passionate about supporting people living in a residential setting and have a personal interest in dementia and Alzheimer’s care due to my own family member’s diagnosis. When I am not working, I love going on the motorbike, visiting nice places with my husband. I also love a good dance and singsong!
