My Mam moved to Cranlea from another care home approx May 2025. The staff are superb & have been the main reason why she has settled so well (kind, thoughtful & attentive). Her family have been warmly welcomed also & really appreciate how smooth the transition to Cranlea has been. Settled atmosphere,
friendly & approachable staff, good food, accommodation, entertainment etc. Well done to all at Cranlea.

Oakleigh

from Gary M (Son of Resident) published on 8 December 2025
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My experience with Oakleigh has been a revelation. We had to put my mother in care in May and I was extremely anxious as to how this would affect her. I have seen the stories.
She has her wits about her and is a tough cookie but her memory isn't great.
Well, she has never been happier. She praises
the staff virtually every time I speak to her. On my visits, I can see how the staff are inter acting with other residents as well as the general warmth of the place. Staff are accommodating and respectful in all circumstances.
Day trips, events and a real effort to make the place a pleasant environment.
She doesn't want to leave and loves the staff.
This is a big relief and it's changed her life. She's very happy . Happy mum , happy son.

My mother has been at Oakleigh, Godstone since late May 25' and has made us promise her that we will not move her out!!! I think that says alot. Its great for family/ friends to leave reviews but the biggest compliment Oakleigh could have is for one of their own residents giving a full 5 stars to
them!!
Well done Oakleigh and thank you

As a family, we are truly grateful for the kindness, patience and dedication shown every day from the staff at Oakleigh to our dear Mum. Mum has been a very happy resident at Oakleigh for over 18 months. After a recent fall and subsequent hospital stay the staff at Oakleigh have worked so hard, going
above and beyond in order to help rehabilitate Mum. Words can't express how much comfort It brings us knowing Mum is in such safe and caring hands.

We were very fortunate to have found Heyberry house for mum.She had numerous falls and a few hospital stays, and she came to the home in September. Sam and her team have been nothing but amazing at making her feel at home and reassuring her.Mum has settled in really well and all the carers are fantastic
with her .She enjoys the food too-especially the puddings They also keep them busy with various activities -and she has become quite a champ at dominoes. Knowing mum is safe and happy in such a great environment is a huge relief. Thanks to Sam & all x

St Marys

It has been very hard for us as a family, despite our best efforts and with the support of home care over the last 3 years, to keep mum at home, and to come to terms with the fact that she needs additional care and support to keep her safe and well. Hospital admission sadly proved that. With the help
of the hospital social worker, we were able to facilitate mum's transition to St Mary's Care home.
We are so grateful to all the people who have shown so much kindness and compassion, who have helped, guided and supported us through this difficult journey. We feel that St Mary's is a warm, compassionate and caring community home that mum will be able to continue to live a full and happy life.

My mother spent a few weeks at Clayburn Court as a respite service user. During her stay the care and compsssion attended to her was outstanding during her brief stay. I was very impressed with the staff reaction to the call bell being actioned where members of staff appeared within seconds. Staff
also attended at regular times throughout the day and night. Also rooms were clean, food was good and visitors welcomed at any time.

Mum has lived at Orchard Gardens care home for five years. She truly made it her home. The care staff, (or the purple people as she called them), have been amazing with her.
She has said on many occasions over the years that we could not have chosen a better place for her to live. Thank you to everyone

My mother is a resident in the care home and has been for some time now. The care she receives there is faultless. The staff are amazing and attentive to her needs and fully understand her health issues.
There is always a lovely atmosphere in the home when I visit.
The daily calendar in the home
is full with activities for the residents and all are encouraged to partake.
The home is kept clean, tidy and kept in tip top condition.
The menu's are varied and cater for my mothers needs.
I cannot fault Maple Dene care home and I cannot see my mother being anywhere else. Keep up the amazing work!!

I cannot fault the care and attention of the staff and management - prompt to deal with any concerns I may have, updating me as to my mother's care and needs, and ensuring that my mother is well looked after. There are twice daily activities for the residents and then events to which family and friends
are invited. The musical afternoons are a delight and to see my mum remember the words to songs she would sing along to many years ago makes me so happy. The staff are friendly and welcoming and I am so pleased that I was able to find such a good home (and I use the word home as in a home as well as a care home) for my mum. Thank you all

Blackbrook House

My mother wanted to go to respite when she left hospital, so my husband and I looked at several establishments before settling on Blackbrook House. When we arrived having arranged to view, from the moment we walked through the front door the atmosphere was that of relaxed efficiency . The building is
bright and airy, the colour scheme restful. We were shown round by Joanne, viewing the available rooms. The more we saw the more it became clear that Blackbrook House was the one. Decision made. my mother moved in a few days later. She is 98 years old still living independently before admission to hospital. She has settled in well, due in large part to the efficiency and friendliness of all the staff. We feel that she now feels, Blackbrook House to be 'home' and we hope that she will decide that this environment is one she likes and that she will decide to become a permanent resident, a decision we would fully support.
We recommend Blackbrook House to anyone seeking care for a loved one.
