Anchor's Oakwood Grange is located at the centre of the Royston community in Barnsley. The home provides friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 60 residents in single rooms which offer en-suite facilities.

Oakwood Grange is accepting new residents for quality residential and residential dementia care.

The dedicated care team takes the time to get to know the individual and work with them and their loved ones to create detailed care plans to ensure their care needs are continually met.

Anchor provides ongoing training in dementia care for its staff to ensure their approach reflects best practice for residents. The care team provides individual and compassionate care by getting to know their customers and their families.

We cannot speak highly enough of Oakwood Grange, our mum was made welcome and comfortable straight away. Mum is happy and always singing now. The staff are very attentive to the resident, and this is always very evident when we visit. We know Mum is always clean and well looked after. We feel mum is
very safe and secure, which gives us peace of mind, which is so important.

Both of my parents have recently moved into Oakwood Grange, the staff have been very accommodating by keeping my parents together. All the staff are friendly and approachable even when sometimes they seem a bit stretched meaning short staffed.
The home feels very homely and clean. My mum especially
seems to be enjoying the activities provided. The staff are very informative about my parents and I feel they are being looked after.

Mum was a resident at Oakwood Grange for two years.
The care and support given to her was outstanding.
When she needed end of life care it was given unstintingly, with compassion and the utmost love.
The home was always welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, the staff without exception were
of the highest standard.

After visiting many care homes, we visited Oakwood and knew instinctively it was just right for our mum. Very welcoming, homely, lovely atmosphere and really good home-cooked food which mam enjoyed. Mam was extremely well cared for at Oakwood. She was surrounded by a brilliant team of very dedicated,
understanding and hardworking staff. We cannot thank all the staff enough for their love, care and support. We highly recommend Oakwood, it's a wonderful home.

My mum is loving her Stay with oakwood Grange, she has made friends with the other residents and is joining in with the activities, she is eating much better and has become much more Sociable. All of the staff are lovely, as is the manager, I have no complaints whatsoever about the care my mum is receiving.

Oakwood Grange has been a true blessing for our family. From the moment my mum moved in, the entire team has been nothing short of amazing. They are warm, friendly, and genuinely caring - it's clear they treat every resident like a member of their own family.


What has made the biggest difference

for me personally is the peace of mind they've given us. Looking after Mum had become increasingly stressful and worrying, but since she's been in their care, that burden has completely lifted. I know she's safe, comfortable, and well cared for every single day.


The staff are excellent communicators and always keep us updated, which means we feel connected and involved even when we can't be there in person. It's such a comfort to know Mum is in such capable and kind hands.


I truly can't thank them enough - Oakwood Grange in my view is outstanding

Choosing this care home has been the best decision my family has made.
From the start the staff have been warm, friendly and supportive. They have truly created a homely environment where everyone is treated with dignity, respect and kindness.
One of the things that really stands out for me is the
fantastic range of activities offered.mum has been able to stay active and engaged. It's been wonderful to see her happy and engaged.

The manager and her staff have been absolutely lovely from the moment I went to visit Oakwood Grange with a view to my dad needing a place in a care home urgently. In the 8 weeks that he has been there they have done an initial detailed care plan, adapting it to fit dad's needs as they got to know him
more. Every time we visit there is a member of staff that is keen to let us know how he is doing, and they have contacted us promptly over a couple of issues as dad settled in. The staff have also been kind and caring towards me and my husband, recognising that it is also a difficult time for us. Dad is now settling and less anxious, and we know he is safe and well cared for by the staff.

I cannot speak too highly of the care I have received. I have only been in residence for a matter of weeks but during that time my husband died and the care and consideration I have received has been without parallel. Both staff and management have made it the best place to be at this time.

Have been quite impressed by my time at Oakwood Grange. I did not know what to expect as many bad reviews are published about various care homes. I have settled here well. Everyone is so friendly. Managment, staff, carers and other residents food is varied and good, room is clean and common areas attractive
and welcoming. Can eat in the dining room or my own room - it is good to have a choice. There are lots of smiley faces about which is good too.

Mum has been living at Oakwood for over six months. Mum experienced appalling care at her two previous care homes, and so, understandably, I was initially apprehensive. This was soon replaced with joy and relief.
Mum's bed is always clean, her clothes are clean and respectfully put neatly back into
her wardrobe, and nothing has gone missing. Mum is so much more settled and always clean. She is kept safe within the home as the carers understand Mum's dementia and her particular behaviours and the risks around that. Mum's care plan shows that it has been written with knowledge, understanding and professionalism that I haven't seen in her previous two care homes, all of this gives me confidence and happiness and I am so grateful to everyone, the owners, management, carers and everyone who works at Oakwood for giving such a high and professional standard of care, it means more than I can really put into words.

We had visited several care homes in the area for my aunt and uncle. As soon as we entered Oakwood Grange, we felt at home. The atmosphere is calm, warm and bright but the care and carers are exceptional. They have so much time for both the residents and their families and friends. Nothing is too much
trouble.
It has been a very upsetting and stressful time as my uncle was taken into hospital days before he was supposed to live at Oakwood, so my aunt moved in by herself. She has been so well cared for by everyone and when my uncle came out of hospital just after New Year, they cared so well for him despite his failing health. He died 10 days after he had moved in and I'm so relieved that they were both together at such a critical time. Thank you to everyone. As a family we know that my aunt is so well-cared for and has social interaction when she most needs it.

We took the difficult decision to move my mother into a care home in June 2024. From the moment we visited the care home, we knew we had made the right decision. The staff at Oakwood Grange could not be more caring. My mother loved her time there. Sadly, she has now passed but I know that in the relatively
short time she was there, she felt safe and well looked after by the excellent staff. Thank you to all at Oakwood Grange for the love and care you showed to my mother.

My husband has been a resident for around 8 months. Staff are really friendly and communicate fairly well. I find sometimes he isn't washed and dressed to the usual standards but on a whole the care is satisfactory. The only thing I disagree with, is on the odd occasion he has had a fall, is the staff
sent him to hospital alone instead of with a member of staff.

Excellent food, good choice. Always cleaning. Very health and safety conscious. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Nice garden to sit or walk in. Good choice of activities. Regular visits by the hairdresser, chiropodist, optician etc. Television in all rooms. Good choice of books to read.

Mum has been here for four weeks now and during this time all the staff we have found to be professional, caring, empathetic, kind and fully focused on providing the best possible care for the residents. The building is immaculate, as are the rooms. The food provided is of an excellent quality and all

My mum had a seven-day respite break at Oakwood Grange. She was amazed by the care she was provided. Starting with the lovely clean room, the first-class meals and the friendly caring staff. They went over and above board to help her. She's planning her next visit shortly.

The hard work and caring nature of all the staff makes it a lovely home for the residents.
