Anchor's Oakwood Grange is located at the centre of the Royston community in Barnsley. The home provides friendly and comfortable residential and dementia care for up to 60 residents in single rooms which offer en-suite facilities.

Oakwood Grange is accepting new residents for quality residential and residential dementia care.

The dedicated care team takes the time to get to know the individual and work with them and their loved ones to create detailed care plans to ensure their care needs are continually met.

Anchor provides ongoing training in dementia care for its staff to ensure their approach reflects best practice for residents. The care team provides individual and compassionate care by getting to know their customers and their families.

We approached Oakwood Grange for a bed for Mum prior to discharge from hospital. The management were excellent. The situation changed to fast track for end of life car they were still willing to take Mum (Her home is 200m from Oakwood Grange).
All the staff were caring. Fantastic to Mum and my sister
and I. She was there less than 2 weeks but the staff allowed my Mum and us to say goodbye with love and grace.
I cannot thank them enough.

My mother was in this care home until her death in March 2021. The staff were brilliant with my mum. The care and attention my mum received was fantastic. A carer sat with Mum until myself and sister's arrived due to her imminent death.

My dad loved being in this care home. He was looked after very well. Your hard work and dedication are very much appreciated.

Whatever is on my mind, I know I can go and talk to all the staff about anything; they all work so hard and deserve a lot of credit for what they do. Keep up the good work; I really appreciate it. They place bing, have quizzes and they have a singer in - he is brilliant. They all dance; it's great.

Oakwood Grange has been my home for 11 months. I have found it very friendly and cosy. It is kept exceptionally fresh and clean and we have every comfort available. The staff are well trained and courteous. The meals are very good and we have a choice of most meals. We are encouraged to join in activities
and games, so we are kept entertained.

Mother has been in the care home since July and over that time the care and compassion from all the staff has been very good and appreciated by all the family. They have maintained good contact with all our family on a day to day basis.

My father came to stay for respite after being seriously ill in hospital and unable to look after himself. It was agreed that he could become a permanent resident much to his relief and mine. The staff look after my father with dignity, care and respect and have brought him on in himself, healthwise
in a way that is second to none. Knowing he is here being cared for is a great relief to myself.

On coming to Oakwood Grange from the hospital, I was in a bad condition from pneumonia and was unable to help myself. The staff and carers were very kind to me and treated me like a king. I am very grateful to them all.
My health is improving now and I love them all.

As a family, we visited mother most days for the 2 years she was in Oakwood. We always found the staff to be helpful and informative to us and dedicated and caring to the residents even when under extreme pressure. I found the management staff to be extremely useful and competent, especially when mother
died.
I don't think we could have found a better place for her to spend her final years.

My mother spent the last four months of her life at Oakwood Grange. I cannot praise the staff enough for the love and exemplary care that they showed to her particularly during her end of life care. Nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff. They always treated my mother with great respect for
her dignity.

Much as I like Oakwood Grange and I am very happy that my auntie is well taken care of, my only complaint is that she has spent over £100,000 on care - but the government still wants more! Very greedy.

Hi, my name is Anila Munawwar. I am a Doctor of Pharmacy graduate following the passion of adult social care, clinical practice and person-centered care. I have over 4 years of experience working in Anchor's care homes and I am committed to my work to bring positive differences in the lives of people we care for.


I have thrived on challenges with a positive and cheerful attitude to provide exceptional and high quality of care to residents. My curiosity and willingness to learn something new everyday has helped me taking on new challenges and grow within the organisation.
