My Mum had been a resident now since April 2025. She went in after a hip operation, she hadn't had any physio at the hospital so was pretty immobile and was a shell of the Mum we knew. Within a few months she blossomed as she was well cared for, helped back on her feet (literally) and had people who cared for her around her all the time. I am so pleased we found this home which is situated in fabulous gardens and within a retirement village. Mum goes out in the minibus, has outings to the garden centres and pubs, which she loves, and have a few lovely singers who visit regularly which makes everyone smile and sing along! My friends are forever showing me the social media posts of her having such a good time! Her room has a lovely view of the old building and beautiful pine trees, it is kept clean and it is lovely and bright. Also, having a weekly GP visit.

My partner and I are very satisfied with the care that my mother receives on a daily basis. The staff are always cheerful and smiling whenever we visit. There are always activities going on at the home, and regular weekly outings. We are regularly updated by telephone and email of any issues that may arise. My mother always seems happy and content. Thank you for everything.

Orchard Gardens is the care home above all care homes! We are so likely that our parents are able to live in this amazing, caring environment. The staff are totally professional, caring, compassionate and friendly, but above all they treat every resident as an individual and a human being. Both my parents are treated with utter respect and love and we leave after every visit feeling reassured that they are happy, safe & loved. Sabrina, Tiago and the whole team go above & beyond and we cannot thank them enough.

My dad visited Orchard Gardens for two weeks of respite care following a fall. The staff were all so cheerful and did everything possible to ensure Dad's every need was met. Food quality was excellent though he would have preferred several round tables in the dining room rather than the 'canteen' style set up.

I cannot recommend this lovely home enough. It's so refreshing to be safe in the knowledge that my Nan is being looked after so well, whilst having fun in a gorgeous setting.
The staff are absolutely fantastic, warm, kind & conscientious. Not only do they regularly call my mum with updates, but as a granddaughter I love seeing Nanny on their social media page!
The building is so clean, beautifully decorated, and Nanny's room is lovely. The gardens are also very pretty and it's nice to have the option to walk around there.
It really is so reassuring to know that Nanny is happy every day.

Thanks to all the team - you're amazing!

Orchard Gardens, as a care home, and all the staff are above and beyond our expectations. There are no faults. The residents are treated with the utmost respect, care and kindness; (as are we when visiting), and always with patience in what must be very demanding work. There always seems to be an activity / entertainment of some kind going on for those who wish to join in. It seems a lot of care, thought and planning goes into these events - we came along to the Mother's Day afternoon Tea and had a very good time! Attention to detail was wonderful!
The food and food choices are excellent too, again, I'm sure, much thought goes into these too.

Hygiene standards are very high. Orchard Gardens has just been completely re-decorated and it's an extremely pleasant place to visit, as I'm sure it is for the residents to live and for staff to work. We know mum couldn't be anywhere nicer or better to live in. Thank you all for taking such good care of her. We think you are all amazing. Xx

Mums care at the home has been really good. Over the past year her health has deteriorated but the staff (everyone) has helped to keep her happy day to day. They do so much to keep mum entertained, stimulated with crafts and exercise. I do feel that the whole team from house management to the managers are invested in mum's care but also ours, they Are so willing to be available for us. I feel very much part of a big team to help keep my mum comfortable.

The atmosphere at Orchard Gardens is vibrant, friendly and full of fun. There are regular activities, outings and visits by entertainers, horses and even occasional visits by a mini zoo! On site management and staff are equally involved in all aspects of the daily life of residents and are happy to respond to the smallest query. The home is surrounded by beautiful, well-tended gardens and there is a restaurant and a swimming pool. Family members are made very welcome at all times and encouraged to join in the fun if they wish. Menus are changed regularly and the meals are very tasty. Snacks and drinks are always on offer!
Having said all that, what really makes Orchard Gardens outstanding is that each and every staff member takes a real interest in each and every resident, getting to know them and respecting their individual needs.

Mum was so well cared for within the Orchard Gardens 'family' and we couldn't have wished for a better home for her last three years.

Mum has lived at Orchard Gardens care home for five years. She truly made it her home. The care staff, (or the purple people as she called them), have been amazing with her.

She has said on many occasions over the years that we could not have chosen a better place for her to live. Thank you to everyone at Orchard Gardens for the care and kindness you have shown our lovely mother.

Orchard Gardens is a wonderful care home. It's clean, tidy and has a lovely homely feel to it with lots of activities and wonderful, caring staff. My Mum started off as a resident there and they looked after her very well as she declined with dementia and then through her last stages with the addition of extra palliative care. My dad moved in on a temporary respite care package shortly after Mum so they could be together and ended up making that a permanent move due to his dementia. I live a couple of hundred miles away but feel supported by the team and feel that Dad is looked after very well. Tiago has even suggested that he would be able to set up a video call with Dad for me so we can see each other rather than just chatting on the phone as it is not easy for me to visit as often as I would like to. Very satisfied with Orchard Gardens.

Sabrina Buxey
Sabrina BuxeyJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

I am a dedicated and compassionate care professional with over 17 years of experience across a wide range of care settings, including learning disabilities, mental health, end-of-life care, and elderly care. Throughout my career, I have remained firmly committed to delivering person-centred, dignified, and high-quality care.

I have been with Anchor for the past eighteen months and take great pride in working for an organisation whose values align with my own. As a Home Manager, I am passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for both residents and staff. I lead by example, promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and continuous improvement.

I believe that a well-supported and valued staff team is the foundation of excellent care. When staff feel appreciated and empowered, it reflects in the quality of care they provide—happy staff lead to happy residents and a thriving service. I am committed to ensuring my team feels equipped, motivated, and involved in achieving shared goals.

Compliance is also one of my key priorities. I am focused on maintaining high standards, meeting regulatory requirements, and continuously improving our practices to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and satisfaction of everyone in our care.

Central to my approach is the promotion of independence and the creation of meaningful experiences. I actively involve residents’ families and friends in their care journey, building strong partnerships that foster trust, engagement, and a true sense of belonging. My goal is to ensure every individual in our home feels safe, valued, and empowered to live life to the fullest.

Tiago Fernandes
Tiago FernandesJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2022

My name is Tiago Fernandes, originally from Portugal and moved to the UK 10 years ago to pursue a meaningful career in care. I hold a bachelor’s degree in educational sciences, which I completed in Portugal, followed by six months of study in France. My passion has always been centred around helping others and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

When I arrived in the UK, I began working as a support worker in a residential home for adults with learning disabilities. I later moved into supported living services, where I supported individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours. During that time, I took on a leadership role, working closely with the team to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone could thrive and reach their daily goals.

My journey then led me to join Anchor as a care assistant. Within a year, I progressed to team leader, and I now proudly serve as Deputy Manager. Throughout this journey, my focus has remained the same: delivering high-quality, person-centred care, supporting my team, and ensuring that each resident feels valued, respected, and cared for.

I believe in a positive and proactive approach to care—one that promotes independence, dignity, and joy every single day.
