Rooms are well furnished and look really nice.
Food is excellent and all areas are kept very clean.
The gardens are well planted and the surrounding grounds are beautiful.

This is a place we genuinely enjoy visiting.

My father was able to spend the last days of his life at Orchard Gardens. He was treated with total compassion and dignity, as is my mother who is also a resident and has advanced Alzheimer's. Being a resident of Bishopstoke Park, it was my father's wish to return home from hospital to be with the people who cared about him. The management and staff went above and beyond at a very difficult time and were hugely supportive to the whole family. My mother still receives excellent care and support.

My father spent his last two weeks in Orchard Gardens before he passed away. The care and compassion he received from all the staff was without exception outstanding. The whole team were incredibly supportive and caring not just to Dad, but also to us, his family. We know that Dad was incredibly grateful to be in your care and as his family, we couldn't have asked for more and will be eternally grateful for the care, compassion and friendship he received in his final days.

My mother, who suffers from Alzheimer's is also a resident at Orchard Gardens and it was of great comfort to both Dad and her family to know and see how happy and settled she is there. When your parents have to go into care you are placing incredible trust in the whole care team to ensure they receive the care that they both need and deserve and that they are treated with compassion and respect and it is so reassuring to know that Orchard Gardens provides this.

Mum has been treated with respect and kindness and the care staff and Managers went out of their way to build mum's confidence. Mum has had a fall recently, when she arrived she was anxious and worried, on leaving the care home finishing her respite she is a different person, less anxious and worried, this can only be down to the care she received. I cannot thank the senior managers enough, they went out of her way to ensure mum's stay was comfortable and safe.

Thank you so much.

My Mum was very frail and poorly after a long stay in hospital. The staff cared for her and got to know her as a person. They worked with me to find ways to bring some of her previous normal routines into her daily life at Orchard Gardens. I feel like we made the best possible choice for Mum to bring her comfort and security in her last few weeks.

Finding the right care home for a vulnerable relative is really difficult. From the moment we first visited Orchard Gardens, we were truly taken aback by the place, the environment and most importantly, the fantastic staff who we met.

From that moment on, it has carried on delivering fantastic care and support to both my relative and to us as a worried daughter and son-in-law. The staff are always friendly and polite, and there is always someone available to answer our questions if we have any queries.

The bedrooms are all ensuite and very comfortable, and there is always a very varied food offering that changes every day. There are activities that the residents can get involved in should they wish.

I have to summarise by saying, Orchard Gardens has given us great peace of mind, that our relative is being looked after and cared for 24/7, and that is a great relief to us. Thank you to you all!

We have just admitted our father for respite care to Orchard Gardens, the staff have been wonderful, very caring and very helpful regarding our father's recuperation needs after coming out of hospital and in a weakened and fragile state. We are so happy that he is in a safe and caring environment . The room he is in is lovely and has good natural light with everything he needs. The food seemed v good quality and nutritionally such an improvement from hospital. The home is very well laid out very impressed with decor not at all what one might expect from such an establishment, there is good vibe going on, even the outside areas are beautifully planted. Thoroughly impressed and relieved that dad is there.

Mum has been a resident since December 2016. I find the staff to be very friendly and here to not only support Mum but us too!
Orchard Gardens is well led by the manager. She is very approachable and always happy to answer any queries.
The care staff are all professional and treat Mum with the highest dignity and respect.
The food is mostly of a high standard. Mum used to like helping the house-keeping ladies with their duties, they even gave Mum her own feather duster.

We feel that Mum is well loved and cared for here.

My father came to Orchard Gardens directly from hospital in March 2017.
We were sold a 5-star package - sadly this has not proved to be the case.

With a very high turnover of staff and food of a below school dinner standard.

it was a very daunting task to choose a care home provider when my elderly father could no longer live an independent life at home. Having viewed a number of properties we chose Orchard Garden for a number of reasons. Newly built, light and large ensuite rooms with a number of lounge areas. It is also part of a retirement village with a number of lovely attached facilities. There is an extensive menu that changes weekly, and even if there is nothing that my fussy father likes they will endeavour to make him an alternative. The staff have been wonderful in getting my father settled in despite him being set in his ways from having lived on his own for 30+ years. There was also the opportunity for him to try the facilities for a few weeks to make sure it was right for him. The final clincher was the knowledge that there is dedicated dementia provision should that need arise rather than having to move him again in the future.

Mum was transferred directly from hospital to the care home. Much to our surprise, mum joined all the other residents in the lounge within 48 hours of arrival. She has been up, dressed and eating well for 28 consecutive days, this was unheard of in the previous two years when she lived independently in her own home. She continually states that she likes living there. The home is clean and well heated. The staff are caring and approachable. The food is good with a good choice on the menu. Her room is well furnished and her ensuite is excellent. The care home has easy access to community nurses and a designated doctor from the surgery who can be approached by the staff on a daily basis. The doctor also visits one day each week. They have a full timetable of activities to which the residents are invited to partake but mum is not fully engaged with this at the present time. Mum is pleased and looking better.

The care I have received has been excellent. The only negative comments I can think to add are the fact that one of the lights in my room has not worked for the two weeks I have been here and I have a soap dispenser that has never had any soap. Otherwise, I enjoyed my stay and would be interested in returning next time you have reductions in price.

Thank you for taking the time to provide a review for Orchard Gardens and we are glad you are interested in returning to us. An electrician was asked to fix the light and we also offered an alternative room, which was declined. If we are made aware of any issues, we always endeavour to resolve them as soon as possible.

Mum has been resident at Orchard Gardens Care Home Bishopstoke Park for just the last three weeks or so but has already shown real benefits from her new environment and the level of care. The staff and management at Orchard Gardens have taken the time and trouble to settle her in - which is a great relief for the family. The Bishopstoke Park development is well designed and the arrangement within the Care Home is also simply laid out and also flexible between floors to cater for differing levels of care including dementia - allowing residents some flexibility. The standard of the rooms is very good with modern amenities and a good "Hotel like standard" - having access to the larger part of the Village is also a bonus for visitors to come and some interaction in the Cafe and Restaurant areas. Looking forward to the Spring and Summer to make the best of the location and grounds.

Orchard Gardens staff look after the residents in a caring and supportive manner. Staff go out of their way to assist residents and encourage them to be interactive to achieve a fulfilling life as possible. There are many activities avaliable in the home and outside and everyone is encouraged to participate. I would certainly recommend this home.

Orchard Gardens has proved to be an ideal setting for my mother since she entered six months ago - she is 85 with ovarian cancer and dementia. The care and support my mother receives is first class and has provided her with a quality of life that we thought she would not experience again.

Orchard Gardens is purpose built with modern facilities. Individual rooms are well appointed with large en-suite facilities and the communal spaces are exceptional. It is a homely and professional environment that respects the privacy and individual needs of residents.

Having visited a number of alternative settings I have every confidence that Orchard Gardens best meets my mother's needs. It would make sense to move my mother closer to my home but her care takes priority and I will happily continue to make the 120-mile round trip to visit, rather than move her from where she feels happy and I know she is well cared for.

My mother has recently enjoyed a respite stay in Orchard Gardens, while my mother-in-law is now a permanent resident. The care taken in preparing for them to come in to the home was thorough and the staff were always accessible to answer questions and show my wife and I around. Once in the care home the staff have taken a great deal of care to make my mother and mother-in-law feel welcome and have provided a high standard of care and support. What has been particularly noticeable, is the cheerful attitude and efforts made to interact with the residents by the whole care team. We feel very reassured by the helpful advice and levels of care provided which have been much appreciated.

I always find the home helpful and accommodating. Making the decision for someone else is never easy. The home is clean, well maintained and the activity programme is exceptional. They take care of the things that, as a family, we were struggling to cope with allowing us the piece of mind we needed.

The best part is to turn up and spend time with loved ones without having to do things for them.

Sabrina BuxeyJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

I am a dedicated and compassionate care professional with over 17 years of experience across a wide range of care settings, including learning disabilities, mental health, end-of-life care, and elderly care. Throughout my career, I have remained firmly committed to delivering person-centred, dignified, and high-quality care.

I have been with Anchor for the past eighteen months and take great pride in working for an organisation whose values align with my own. As a Home Manager, I am passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for both residents and staff. I lead by example, promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and continuous improvement.

I believe that a well-supported and valued staff team is the foundation of excellent care. When staff feel appreciated and empowered, it reflects in the quality of care they provide—happy staff lead to happy residents and a thriving service. I am committed to ensuring my team feels equipped, motivated, and involved in achieving shared goals.

Compliance is also one of my key priorities. I am focused on maintaining high standards, meeting regulatory requirements, and continuously improving our practices to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and satisfaction of everyone in our care.

Central to my approach is the promotion of independence and the creation of meaningful experiences. I actively involve residents’ families and friends in their care journey, building strong partnerships that foster trust, engagement, and a true sense of belonging. My goal is to ensure every individual in our home feels safe, valued, and empowered to live life to the fullest.

Tiago FernandesJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2022

My name is Tiago Fernandes, originally from Portugal and moved to the UK 10 years ago to pursue a meaningful career in care. I hold a bachelor’s degree in educational sciences, which I completed in Portugal, followed by six months of study in France. My passion has always been centred around helping others and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

When I arrived in the UK, I began working as a support worker in a residential home for adults with learning disabilities. I later moved into supported living services, where I supported individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours. During that time, I took on a leadership role, working closely with the team to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone could thrive and reach their daily goals.

My journey then led me to join Anchor as a care assistant. Within a year, I progressed to team leader, and I now proudly serve as Deputy Manager. Throughout this journey, my focus has remained the same: delivering high-quality, person-centred care, supporting my team, and ensuring that each resident feels valued, respected, and cared for.

I believe in a positive and proactive approach to care—one that promotes independence, dignity, and joy every single day.
