I have only visited the home in my professional capacity as a Solicitor, but every time I have been, the home is friendly, welcoming and very clean.
It has a great atmosphere.

The staff there are very engaging and the residents I have met seem very happy.

The facilities are excellent. It doesn't feel like a normal 'care home', more like a luxurious hotel.

My relative has settled very well and is well loved by the staff. I feel confident that his safety and security is excellent. His personal care and motivational and entertainment care is well thought through. Regular outings are all arranged. All the staff have gone over their required shifts, shopping, e-mailing photos to relatives in Australia, arranging transport for hospital appointments. Placing him here is such a relief, places for dementia clients are limited.

I have been to visit Orchard Gardens care home on several occasions, primarily to attend events. I have always found the staff at Orchard Gardens to be extremely professional and helpful, nothing is ever too much trouble for them and the residents always seem to be extremely well cared for. The range of activities that the home provide is great, with a very extensive calendar of events. The food always looks really delicious too!

My mother moved into Orchard Gardens in January 2106, after a short period living with my family following my father's death last summer. The quality of care has been exceptional and has allowed mum to adjust to her new circumstances and living environment in a very smooth way. She is very contented, which is a delight for myself and our whole family. I would have absolutely no hesitation is recommending Orchard Gardens and Anchor to anyone.

Mum has been living at Orchard Gardens since the beginning of the year. To be able to rest in the knowledge that she is well cared for, following the loss of my father who was also her primary carer, is a great relief. The team work hard to make sure all mum's needs, from physical wellness to social interaction, are met. It has been a big change for mum but the care and kindness given by the staff at Orchard Gardens has allowed her to settle, establish a routine and to feel content within a short time.

I was very surprised by not only the good security, the very high-quality clean surroundings and the amount of space but also the varied social programme. The day I was there they were having a beer tasting evening and I heard a resident describe her stay as enjoyable as being on a fancy cruise ship! Above all, the attentive staff were extremely professional and they seemed like nothing was too much trouble as they joked and chatted to the residents on a 1:1 basis which added to the ambience of a happy and marvellous place.

Orchard Gardens has provided care for my Dad for the last six months after his dementia had made it impossible for him to stay at home. The quality of care has been beyond expectation on every level. Integrated living allows Dad to partake of normal everyday life with the family at the village facilities and through organised social activities. Every effort has been made to ensure his dietary requirements are met. It was outstanding to have a personal visit from the chef to ensure a cake selection was to our satisfaction.

The staged admissions policy in the opening months allowed the staff to get to know each resident for a fortnight before the next resident came. In my experience in healthcare this is unprecedented and extremely progressive. Staff are attentive, caring and helpful with a desire to understand and improve on every aspect of the care they provide; even the maintenance staff have dementia training!!! If anyone is doing this better I would would be very surprised.

My aunt was admitted to care home late December 2015. She was in a very poor state both physically and mentally. She became very demanding and difficult to manage. Throughout these initial stages the staff were very understanding, supportive and flexible. Following excellent support from the GP and a variety of hospital visits my aunt has settled down. She is now very happy and settled. The change is due to the unstinting support she received from very caring staff. Her diet has been a problem and the catering team have done everything possible to accommodate her wishes. All caring staff have been keen to help her in whatever way possible. The activities are now a great feature, just took a while to get established. My congratulations to the manager and her staff for turning around a life.

this care home is everything one could wish for, in fact both my sons said they would like to be signed up now when I described it to them and I feel the same. Amazing facilities including a swimming pool, gym, a studio for classes such as pilates etc, a hairdressers, activity room, family room and a good lounge/dining room for every 12 guests ( each lounge has a balcony). excellent, happy, helpful, cheerful very caring staff. Spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated throughout. Good size bedrooms with comfortable bed, large en suite. I would recommend everyone to go to this home.

Sabrina BuxeyJob Title:Home ManagerJoined: 2023

I am a dedicated and compassionate care professional with over 17 years of experience across a wide range of care settings, including learning disabilities, mental health, end-of-life care, and elderly care. Throughout my career, I have remained firmly committed to delivering person-centred, dignified, and high-quality care.

I have been with Anchor for the past eighteen months and take great pride in working for an organisation whose values align with my own. As a Home Manager, I am passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing environment for both residents and staff. I lead by example, promoting a culture of empathy, respect, and continuous improvement.

I believe that a well-supported and valued staff team is the foundation of excellent care. When staff feel appreciated and empowered, it reflects in the quality of care they provide—happy staff lead to happy residents and a thriving service. I am committed to ensuring my team feels equipped, motivated, and involved in achieving shared goals.

Compliance is also one of my key priorities. I am focused on maintaining high standards, meeting regulatory requirements, and continuously improving our practices to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and satisfaction of everyone in our care.

Central to my approach is the promotion of independence and the creation of meaningful experiences. I actively involve residents’ families and friends in their care journey, building strong partnerships that foster trust, engagement, and a true sense of belonging. My goal is to ensure every individual in our home feels safe, valued, and empowered to live life to the fullest.

Tiago Fernandes
Tiago FernandesJob Title:Deputy ManagerJoined: 2022

My name is Tiago Fernandes, originally from Portugal and moved to the UK 10 years ago to pursue a meaningful career in care. I hold a bachelor’s degree in educational sciences, which I completed in Portugal, followed by six months of study in France. My passion has always been centred around helping others and making a positive difference in people’s lives.

When I arrived in the UK, I began working as a support worker in a residential home for adults with learning disabilities. I later moved into supported living services, where I supported individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviours. During that time, I took on a leadership role, working closely with the team to create a safe and supportive environment where everyone could thrive and reach their daily goals.

My journey then led me to join Anchor as a care assistant. Within a year, I progressed to team leader, and I now proudly serve as Deputy Manager. Throughout this journey, my focus has remained the same: delivering high-quality, person-centred care, supporting my team, and ensuring that each resident feels valued, respected, and cared for.

I believe in a positive and proactive approach to care—one that promotes independence, dignity, and joy every single day.
