Beauleigh Court Launches New ‘Green Initiative’

Beauleigh Court Care Home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, is delighted to announce that they have taken meaningful steps towards becoming a more environmentally conscious home through a new sustainability project launched earlier this month.

Beginning in November, the team at Beauleigh Court introduced a simple but impactful recycling initiative: bagging and reusing the home’s shredded paper as bedding for the pigs owned by their Head Chef, John. Once the paper bedding has been used, it will be composted, giving the material a second life and reducing waste that would otherwise go to landfill.

This idea formed as Beauleigh Court explored ways to become ‘greener’ and involve staff in contributing fresh, eco-friendly ideas. John mentioned that his pigs benefit greatly from shredded paper bedding, and the team recognised an ideal opportunity to reduce waste while supporting local animal care.

In addition to the new recycling effort, Beauleigh Court is also donating unused hospital blankets and slightly worn towels or bedding to the Dogs Trust, ensuring rescue pets stay warm and comfortable. This ongoing practice further reflects the home’s commitment to sustainability and community support.

John showed the home pictures of his pigs enjoying the benefits of their new recycling efforts, a heartwarming highlight of this growing green initiative.

Beauleigh Court remains committed to reducing waste, encouraging creativity among staff, and building a more sustainable future for the home and its community.
