Hickathrift House care home, in Marshland St James, welcomed Jo Sage from AGE UK during its regular coffee morning to host a special Winter Warmer Advice Event for the local community.
Residents, staff, and guests enjoyed a friendly and informative session where Jo shared practical tips on staying warm and safe during the colder months. The event provided valuable advice on energy efficiency, winter health, and local support services, all while everyone enjoyed tea, coffee, and homemade treats. Hickathrift House has built up an excellent reputation in its local community and regularly holds events and activities for residents and neighbours to bring people together.
General Manager, Paula Merlerski of Hickathrift House, said: “Today has been all about supporting our community and helping everyone prepare for winter. It was wonderful to see so many people come along, enjoy the coffee morning, and benefit from Jo’s expert advice. Our team and residents really enjoyed the opportunity to connect and share this experience.”
