Grace Court Celebrates First Resident's Birthday

Grace Court care home, part of the Sanders Senior Living Group, marked a major milestone this week as the home celebrated the 80th birthday of its very first resident, Maggie, with a spectacular party filled with music, themed decorations and plenty of joy.

The celebration, held on 19 November 2025, brought together Maggie’s friends, family, fellow residents and the Grace Court team for an unforgettable afternoon. The home was transformed with vibrant cruise ship–themed décor, setting the scene for a special performance by Sarah, Grace Court’s very own Singing Chef, who delighted everyone with her tribute act as Jane McDonald, complete with a sparkling outfit and nautical backdrop.

Grace Court’s kitchen team created a beautifully decorated birthday cake especially for Maggie. The cake, presented by Jessie, Kitchen Assistant, took centre stage as Maggie blew out her candles to a heartfelt rendition of “Happy Birthday” sung proudly by residents, staff, and family members.

Following the serenade, guests enjoyed slices of the delicious cake while showering Maggie with warm wishes for her milestone birthday.

Those involved in the celebration included Maggie, her family and friends, Sarah (Head Chef), Nikki (Home Manager), Lou (Deputy Manager), Jessie and many other members of the Grace Court team, as well as residents who chose to attend.

The event was particularly meaningful as it celebrated not only Maggie’s milestone but also Grace Court’s growth and sense of community as a new commissioning home.

Sarah Grivins, Head Chef, shared her joy at being part of the celebration:

“It was a pleasure to be able to be a part of Maggie’s big day! Making her an amazing 80th birthday cake and donning a Jane McDonald outfit was an absolute joy, especially for such a kind and caring lady.”
