Our Mum who suffers with dementia came here for respite and did not want to leave. She decided this herself after about 3 days. The staff and place are wonderful. The staff are kind and caring and go that extra mile to make Mum happy and cared for. Her demeanor has changed she is so much happier. She
joins in the numerous activitives that take place everyday. She can also have a rest when she wants. The menu is amazing. The family and visitors are always greeted on entry and made to feel so welcome.
Reply from William Hargrave, Customer Relations Manager at Grace Court Care HomeHi Jan, thank you for your kind words. We're so glad to hear how your mum has found her stay in our home and with how happy she is now. Rest assured that I will pass on your compliments to the rest of our team regarding the activities, the food and the hospitality yourself and your mum have experienced.

Grace Court is the most beautifully designed luxury care home yes - but that means nothing without quality care. Grace Court is most definitely NOT "fur coat & no knickers"! The care & consideration to residents & their families has been exemplary. Mum has had a really difficult time settling in since
the home opened it's doors & she's still struggling now, but the amazing team of carers, the concierge team & even the hospitality/catering team & the laundry team, have gone above & beyond in an attempt to ease Mum's distress & sometimes anger at her new surroundings, which involves great patience & compassion. There's no "not my job attitude". The team work in partnership with the family to solve any problems. The luxurious bedrooms & lounges are kept spotless & every residents' needs/ demands are catered for. I've no doubt Grace Court was the right decision for Mum & thank goodness I found it.
Reply from William Hargrave, Customer Relations Manager at Grace Court Care HomeThank you so much for your review Ruth. You are completely right in that the home is luxurious, but the care is the key component that we must get right. Thank you so much for your thanks to our various teams and I'm sure they will be as happy as I am to hear of your experience with our home.

First class architetural design - best on the island. Stunning attention to every little detail - from decoration right through to individual residents needs and care. Having worked in many care homes, I can positively say that none come close to this level of sophistication. It has set the bar for
others to reach, and is the standard that we would wish for and expect, for our loved ones in their final years! Exceedingly well done!!
Reply from William Hargrave, Customer Relations Manager at Grace Court Care HomeThank you so much for your review Steve and we're so happy to see the work of our team recognised. From the architect, builders, and other tradespeople who contributed to the building of the home. To the care team and other auxiliary staff both in the home and the wider Sanders family. Grace Court wouldn't be possible without them, or reviewers such as you Steve, who help us to continue to make Grace Court the best it can be.

Really happy with the care my dad has recieved here at Grace Court. All the staff are super friendly and happy to answer and deal with any requests. My dad seems very content he's eating well and looking much better already and only been in here a week. Staff are great with my mum too, who visits every
day. She has stayed for lunch with my dad all week and is even having her hair done with him next week including her which is fab.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My friend who has dementia was living on her own with care and doing ok although very lonely despite having carers come in three times a day. She was adamant that a care home was not for her. But I talked her into respite. Graces Court made her feel so welcome. From the moment she stepped through
the door it felt like home. Everything about it was far more than she ever expected. The staff are fantastic everyone has time when she needs it. At Graces Court people are treated like equals with staff and they are a family who listen and encourage.
I cannot recommend it highly enough.
My friend is extremely happy and with the 24 hour care I know she is safe and well looked after.
I must mention the food which is superb.
To finalise I would say Graces Court is like a 5 star hotel with the added bonus of having a happy family around you that care for your every need with the addition of healthcare staff.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.390)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.390) out of 10 for Grace Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.914 for Grace Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (96 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 105 Ratings = 4.914
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.476 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Grace Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.6 = 0.776
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
