Kenmore Group expands with acquisition of Gloucestershire care homes

Resthaven is a detached care home offering 41 bedrooms, 24 of which are en suite and nine featuring wet rooms. The property occupies an elevated position in a rural setting with stunning views overlooking the Stroud Valley. Despite its tranquil location, the home is situated just under two miles southwest of the historic town of Painswick, known as the “Queen of the Cotswolds,” which provides a range of day-to-day amenities.

Astell House is an imposing period care home registered to accommodate 36 residents, all in en suite rooms. The home is located in one of the most sought-after residential areas of the regency town of Cheltenham. It occupies a visible corner plot position within easy reach of the town centre and local shops.

Both homes were previously owned by Lilian Faithfull Care, a Cheltenham-based charity that operates non-profit care homes. Following a confidential sales process with Rob Kinsman and Simon Harvey at Christie & Co, they have been acquired by Kenmore Group Care Homes, marking a significant addition to its growing portfolio of care homes.

Kevin Snowball, CEO of Lilian Faithfull Care, comments, “Following a strategic review of our portfolio, it was a difficult decision for Lilian Faithfull Care to part company with two special care homes, and so finding the right buyer that shared our values and commitment to high-quality care and staff development was very important to us.”

Kennedy Sabapathy, Chairman of Kenmore Group, comments, “This is a significant acquisition for the Group. These two high-quality homes will add great value to our portfolio. We have been actively seeking opportunities in this geography for the past five years, and we are delighted to have completed this transaction. This deal further strengthens the group’s momentum following the acquisition of three homes, along with the Chesham head office. In 2025, Kenmore Group now proudly operates eight homes with a combined capacity of 350 beds, reinforcing its position as one of the fastest growing providers in the sector.”

Simon Harvey and Rob Kinsman of Christie & Co, who managed the sale, comment, “We were delighted to be entrusted by the board at Lilian Faithfull Care to market Astell House and Resthaven and also incredibly pleased to have achieved a positive result for them in what has turned out to be our quickest care home sale of the year. Having known and worked with the buyers for almost eight years now, we are pleased to have assisted their continued growth and look forward to seeing how they build on the already strong foundations in place across both of these homes.”

BPE Solicitors represented Lilian Faithfull Care, and Herrington Carmichael acted for the Kenmore Group.

Resthaven Care Home and Astell House were sold for an undisclosed price. ---ENDS---
