Rosedale Court Enjoy Festive Christmas Dinner Outing

Residents from Rosedale Court Care Home, part of the Runwood Homes Group, enjoyed a memorable festive outing on 16 December 2025, travelling by bus to The Paul Pry in Rayleigh for a special Christmas dinner celebration.

The group embraced the festive spirit by pulling crackers, sharing jokes, tackling the puzzles inside, and enjoying a joyful singalong. The celebration culminated in residents singing “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” together around the table, a moment so uplifting that the entire pub stopped to listen.

The atmosphere throughout the day was lively and heart-warming, filled with laughter, carol singing, and residents enjoying one another’s company. For many, the visit brought back fond memories of previous trips to the pub, making the experience even more meaningful.

Outings such as this are an important part of life at Rosedale Court, giving residents the opportunity to enjoy festive traditions outside of the home, reconnect with familiar places, and create new memories during the Christmas season.

Louise Healy, Lifestyle Lead at Rosedale Court, said: “It’s so important for our residents to enjoy Christmas dinner out in the community and experience the festive atmosphere. For some, returning to The Paul Pry brought back wonderful memories, and sharing the day together made it extra special.”

Residents shared their delight following the outing. Jean said: “I’ve had a brilliant day and really enjoyed myself — thank you.”

Patricia added: “It’s been lovely and the dinner was amazing.”

Cliff commented: “I loved singing together around the table.”

Other residents praised the meal, with Gloria saying the “warm Baileys sauce was scrummy,” David describing the day as “marvellous,” and Ricky adding with a smile, “The roast potatoes are handsome.”

The festive outing highlighted the importance of shared experiences, community connections, and celebrating Christmas traditions together, creating lasting memories for everyone involved.
