Clarendon Lodge, a Greensleeves Care home in Rickmansworth, has become the first care home in the wider Watford area* to achieve the prestigious Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation for exceptional end-of-life and palliative care. The national accreditation recognises outstanding standards of dignity, compassion and resident-centred support at every stage of life.

Situated in a tranquil area of Croxley Green and known locally as one of the leading non-profit care homes in Rickmansworth, Clarendon Lodge provides high-quality residential and dementia care in a warm, welcoming setting. The purpose-built home offers bright communal areas, landscaped gardens and an approach to care that reinvests every pound back into residents’ wellbeing through Greensleeves Care’s charitable mission.

The Gold Standards Framework is a nationally recognised, evidence-based programme designed to improve the quality, consistency and coordination of palliative and end-of-life care. Fewer than 350 care homes across the UK currently hold GSF accreditation, which demonstrates excellence in helping people to live well and die well – with dignity, choice and respect.

To secure accreditation, colleagues at Clarendon Lodge undertook specialist GSF training, produced an extensive evidence portfolio and welcomed an in-person assessment by the national GSF team to demonstrate that exemplary end-of-life practices are embedded throughout the home.

Louise Keegan, Home Manager at Clarendon Lodge, said:

“I am incredibly proud that Clarendon Lodge is the first care home in the Watford area to achieve Gold Standards Framework accreditation. This recognition truly reflects the dedication and kindness of our whole team, who work every day to ensure our residents feel safe, supported and valued. Families place enormous trust in us, especially during sensitive and emotional times, and we are honoured to provide a level of care that brings comfort, dignity and peace of mind. This achievement reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional care for our community here in Rickmansworth.”

Clarendon Lodge joins 18 sister homes across Greensleeves Care that have now achieved GSF accreditation, demonstrating the organisation’s strong commitment to raising standards of care nationally.
