Residents at a care home in Abbotsham have been celebrating the arrival of Spring, with music, crafts and Easter-themed activities.
Residents at Kenwith Castle care home have been making the most of a varied programme of seasonal activities, including lively performances from Jed and the Shanty Band, which brought plenty of music and a jolly atmosphere to the home.
Getting creative, residents also spent time making beautiful new floral table centrepieces to be displayed around the home. Others enjoyed a relaxing trip to a local garden centre, embracing the sights and colours of springtime. Bella, the Pets as Therapy dog, also delighted the residents as her visit brought smiles and companionship to all.
Kenwith Castle care home, which is run by not-for-profit charity, Care South, provides residential, respite, and dementia care to residents. A dedicated activities team at the care home organises a daily programme of events to bring residents together to socialise and build friendships.
Jo Passmore, Home Manager at Kenwith Castle, said: “It is wonderful to see our residents enjoying such a wide range of activities as we celebrate Easter and the spring season. From music and creative flower-arranging sessions, to trips out into the community, there has been something for everyone to get involved in. These moments not only bring joy but also help our residents to continue pursuing the hobbies and interests that are important to them.”
Kenwith Castle benefits from a large garden and expansive landscaped grounds, featuring a picturesque lake with stunning countryside views offering a quiet place for a moment of reflection.
The care home’s garden features wide, flat walkways and raised flower beds to make it accessible to everyone. The grounds are also home to assisted-living bungalows, Kenwith Castle Gardens and Kenwith Meadows, as well as The Pavilion, which offers a meeting place for residents to get together for a range of events.
The Kenwith Castle team hosts its own ‘Welcome Wednesdays’ session every week, from 2pm to 4pm, for visitors to enjoy the warm and friendly atmosphere over coffee and cakes. There is no need to book - just drop in on the day.
