View Full Details of Foxearth Lodge Nursing HomeMum having to go into a nursing home was a heartbreaking time, but from the moment she moved in Foxearth, we were put at ease. Mum is having end of life care, the management, kitchen, domestic, maintenance and carers/nurses are unbelievable with her and us. They go above and beyond to keep Mum happy and comfortable.
My dad was offered a place in Foxearth following a short stay at a Hospice in Ipswich. I went and checked out this home and the care, and was very happy and impressed. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and nothing is too much trouble, and after a couple of weeks, dad has settled in nicely. This has made a huge difference to my life, knowing he is in safe hands and being looked after well.
Each time I visit the home it is very clean with no smell of urine. The staff are very friendly and all appear to be happy in their work. My sister is allowed the freedom to work in the garden, which she loves, and the staff are all very nice to her. Foxearth is a nursing home I would happily move into!
My mother started in the Dementia Unit. I was hesitant to move her into care, but the staff made the move so easy, both emotionally and physically, for us as a family. It made a very difficult time much easier for us. Staff and care were excellent. Mum was content and never said she wanted to go home. Loads of activities and entertainment, and I should mention the activities staff who went above and beyond with her care. When her health deteriorated, I was kept informed, and end-of-life care was gentle and dignified.
Overall my family and I are very happy with the care facilities, meals and activities provided to my mother since she moved into Foxearth last August. Across the board the team have proved to be exemplary in their dedication and application to the care of the residents, in particular during the recent flu outbreak which provide to be a very difficult week for all concerned. We do have one concern however and that is the very obvious increase in the use of agency staff and we would like to know what actions are being put in place by the company to remedy this.
As a volunteer I visit Foxearth regularly, I always find the 'home' welcoming, clean, and all the residents that I have seen are very happy, content and well cared for. The staff go beyond their roles to make it a place of warmth and safety. They put enormous effort into making special dates memorable too, VE Day, Christmas, Easter etc All in all I would say it's one of the best residential homes in the area. It doesn't host the most lavish rooms, but it makes up for that with its caring/can do attitude
My sister had wonderful, loving care throughout the 8 years she was at Foxearth, and I had great emotional support as I watched her go through the progression of the terrible disease alzheimers.
- Lovely, caring, happy staff. - Good management. - Comfortable rooms. - Lovely grounds. Always leave my husband at Foxearth, knowing he is very well looked after. He settled in Foxearth from the beginning. Lovely nursing home.
My mother was only there for 6 days but we were so impressed with everything. We would highly recommend Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home. Mum passed away at Foxearth Lodge and was treated with great dignity.
My aunt as with everyone entering this phase of their life has had the emotional support she has needed. All the staff have done their absolute best for the manager the housekeeping the cooks, activities, the maintenance and especially the carers and nurses who try their utmost to maintain my aunt's welfare, dignity and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you everyone!
My overall experience has been very good you don't realise how difficult and rewarding it is to work in the caring industry. All the staff are very caring and committed and I have found them very helpful and good company and are wonderful with my husband and all residence their patience is a virtue. Although I have found it upsetting at times, all they do has made it a lot easier to come to terms with everything. A big thank you to all the staff for their dedication and a massive well done for all their hard work.
It was my first visit to Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home and I was warmly welcomed. Foxearth has such a warm friendly feel, offered tea before the arrival of the tea trolley. I could see how clean everywhere was and everything to hand in the room. I left my friend in the knowledge he was being care for and looked after extremely well.
My step son moved in at the right time after living in an assisted living for many years by himself. Due to a severe illness and being in hospital for many weeks, we finally found Foxearth Nursing Home which is ideal for his needs. We decorated his room with photos and personal items to reassure him of home and he settled in right away. The Manager and staff are so kind, attentive and caring and I cannot thank them enough. They have lifted a huge burden from my shoulders and given him a good quality of life.
Foxearth Lodge came into our lives at just the right time. My mother-in-law was beginning to struggle with her mobility, and living alone at age 89. From the first moment, we knew it would be perfect for her. A down-to-earth, friendly atmosphere. The walls are decorated with happy photos of residents. The staff are attentive, and kind and treat her with respect. She loves the food and her bedroom has a wonderful view of the beautiful garden. She settled and is content. We can't fault it.
My aunt was cared for at Foxearth Lodge for the last 3 years of her life. We could not have been happier with standard of care she received. Despite her advancing dementia she was treated with the utmost dignity and respect by all the fabulous staff. We particularly liked the friendly, family atmosphere and the frequent communication which kept us all aware of what my aunt had been doing as she wasn't able to tell us herself. Rooms are kept spotlessly clean and the food is delicious. I would not hesitate to recommend Foxearth Lodge.
Very happy with Foxearth Lodge. When both my parents became ill they made it possible for them to be in a double room together just like being at home. The service was so good my father used to think he was on holiday! After he passed last year they have taken such good care of my mum and they continue to do so, she loves the staff there and seems very happy. It is such a weight off my shoulders knowing how well she is being cared for and how happy she is.
With regards to value for money it is difficult to answer. The care is good and the activity staff are amazing. There is lots going on for my mum to join in with and it has a 'family type' atmosphere. Staff are really friendly and make my mum feel valued and important. Value for money is difficult to assess - the cost of all care is high and I would be happier with the fee if the staff were receiving more of it. I am always kept informed and am welcomed and feel very much part of the family.
My grandmother has been at Foxearth Lodge Nursing Home since December 2020. She is very well cared for, the staff are always helpful and kind. Her different dietary requirements are always met. She enjoys the wide range of activities on offer. We as a family can't thank everyone enough.
After visiting Mum in Foxearth Care Home, I was overwhelmed how good and loving the carers all are, treating Mum with dignity and love. Nothing was too much trouble. I am living in Germany and came over to visit Mum for a few days and now feel a lot better after visiting Foxearth Care Home (Woodlands). Thank you.
I could not have picked a better facility for my husband to stay in. Many thanks to all the staff who take care of him.
