View Full Details of Bilney Hall Care HomeMy mum moved into Bilney Hall in late February. It is a Care Home where the resident's come first. The manager and her staff are excellent and provide a friendly and welcoming environment along with understanding, care and compassion at all times to both residents and their relatives. The meals are wholesome and good and the team cater for individual dietary needs. The rooms are clean and the laundry is always fresh and ironed. Residents are actively encouraged to take part in a variety of activities each week. The manager is an experienced, highly competent professional who is respected by all of her staff. I have total confidence of the management of mums future care needs.
Mum and Dad have been at Bilney since October 2023, they are together and being looked after, staff are always so kind and have time. I have regular updates from the home on all issues, concerns. Dad can be cantankerous at times over certain things (food in particular) and we are working through the best way forward. Mum although of course the dementia is progressing seems so happy, engaging with activities. Thanks as ever
The staff at Bilney Hall are always warm and welcoming to visitors and take really good care of my mother, since she moved in she has flourished. As a relative it is lovely to feel confident that Bilney Hall does not just 'tick the boxes' to meet the minimum level of care (which we have had experience of), they really take an interest in making residents as comfortable and happy as possible.
My dad is well care for by all the carers and find them very approachable and helpful, if I have any queries they are there to rectify. They seam to acknowledge what helps get him through each day activity wise he likes the entertainment and to take part.
My Dad has Parkinsons and Dementia and was beginning to not cope at home with a carer, he moved into Bilney Hall just after Christmas, its not been easy for him or the staff there, but I think after an initial settling in period he is now accepting of Bilney being his home. The staff in Bilney are always very friendly and work so incredibly hard, dads needs can be hard to deal with at times, but the respect and care they have given him has been exceptional. The Manager is always available to speak to about any concerns we have, she's always ready to help with a solution or just listen. The home itself always smells fresh and welcoming, Dad really enjoys the food and he usually gets involved in the visits that the team plan whether that be Owls showcasing or a singalong. I would be the first to recommend Bilney Hall, when it comes to care from the staff and the place feeling and looking like a home from home
My nan came to Bilney Hall for a short respite stay. During her time there she had a nice room with a view of the garden which she enjoyed doing some bird watching. She also enjoyed chatting to the other lovely residents and staff and participating in the activities during the day, especially the music. Would 100% bring her back if needed, she and our family are very happy with the home and staff!
Bilney Hall are doing a great job of keeping my Dad safe and cared for. The team are communicative and keep us up to date on a regular basis and the carers are kind and supportive. The team manage a good balance of managing some challenging behaviours and conditions alongside providing the best care and support they can.
My Wife was a resident at Bilney Hall, she had very complex Brain issues following extensive Brain surgery, two strokes and advanced Alzheimer's Condition. which meant great care and attention was required for my wife's care. The Manager and all her staff were exemplary in their care, compassion and personal handling, as my wife needed hoists to move her from chair to bed etc. In 2024 my wife was in another Care Home for several weeks, it was terrible, the comparison between that care home and Bilney Hall was so unbelievable. All the staff were happy and very welcoming and offered compassion to myself. I would recommend this Care Home.
My stepmum moved into Bilney Hall Care Home after being in hospital for over 8 weeks. The communication from management and senior staff is excellent with either emails or phone calls and reassurance and honesty at every touch point. I am so grateful that my step mum spent her final days being so well cared for with an excellent standard of care, delivered with compassion and support for the family as well as the resident.
My mother had been a resident at Bilney Hall Care Home for just over a year. The staff were all caring and professional and gave her great care. The meals were good and the rooms clean. Her laundry was always fresh and ironed. As her needs changed, staff and management were always ready to try different approaches to keep her comfortable. At her end of life, the support the staff gave us, as a family, to ensure we could be with her was exceptional.
Mum has been ay Bilney Hall Care Home for over a year and we have just enjoyed our second Christmas day with Mum there which was truly fun and felt very special. I have experienced three other local care homes through the changing needs of my parents and stepmother, due to dementia/Alzheimer's, and Bilney exceeds them all by far. Mum also has mobility issues and can be "tricky" to deal with at times but the staff are attentive, kind and caring. She has a beautiful room and over the last year, as her needs have changed, with the support and guidance of the home manager, we have been able to adapt the necessary furniture and room layout to facilitate her care. She is encouraged to join in the activities that she enjoys, especially singing and music. The senior staff are particularly attentive to her medical needs, take timely action and always keep me informed. I feel that we are all part of a big family and have a sense that Mum and the other residents, on the whole, feel that way too.
My father moved into Bilney Hall Care Home just before Christmas after being in another residential care facility for nearly two years. We had quite a long, drawn-out process with social services to secure his place at Bilney and the manager was so supportive and helpful throughout the process. My father has complex needs and his old care home was unable to complete many simple tasks, such as changing his clothes regularly and assisting with personal care. Within hours of moving into Bilney, the staff had managed to do what the other care home hadn't in months. The communication from management and senior staff is regular with either emails or phone calls. I am so grateful that my father is now being well looked after. In addition to the great standard of care, the home is also very clean at whatever time of day I visit.
Dad was only at Bilney Hall Care Home for a few months but during that time, he had complex and changing care needs. The management and staff were very responsive and proactive in ensuring his stay was as comfortable and pleasant as was possible, always going the extra mile to support Dad and our family. Thanks to all staff for helping us through this difficult time.
My cousin's need to enter a care home came suddenly and the management and staff at Bilney Hall Care Home have made her transition from living independently to being in a care home a smooth one. They have continually shown her kindness and support and have facilitated her requests as far as possible, often going out of their way to do so. The building is attractive and rooms are well-equipped, with pleasant and restful décor, and are suited to the needs of the resident. The grounds are well laid out and residents enjoy sitting outdoors in good weather. My cousin has now been at Bilney Hall for just over three months and she has settled in well, which is a great relief to us as her relatives.
Although my dad was only with you for two months, from the start, I was given reassurance and this continued throughout his stay, always willing to make changes to accommodate Dad and his needs and helping me with everything from understanding his behaviour to providing a supportive cuppa. I can't thank you enough for going the extra mile and being with me through this difficult and uncertain time.
Their understanding, patience and kind manner have always been apparent with my grandmother and other residents when we visit. The care staff who support my grandmother have, over a relatively short period of time, established very caring relationships with her. She often tells me about them individually and also how comforting they can be when she feels a little low. The communication between myself and the home is sufficiently detailed to provide peace of mind and I feel very comfortable that my grandmother is receiving a high standard of care. The managerial staff have excelled in listening carefully to my grandmother and going that extra mile to cater for sometimes unusual demands and wishes. My grandmother's physical health, mobility and cognition have all seen an improvement now she is receiving the attention and care someone experiencing dementia and Alzheimer's requires. This overall improvement is testament to the care and understanding my grandmother is receiving and I am very happy that she is settling in well.
Bilney Hall has been Mum's home for over three years during which she has always been treated with great care and respect. She is not at times the easiest person to care for so as a family we value greatly the care and empathy given to her by all staff. That empathy and understanding is extended to our family - thank you all.
This is one of the most welcoming care homes I have ever visited. Everyone has a smile and gives a warm welcome to visitors. The staff are always happy to chat about my cousin's health in regards to how she is. If I phone, the staff are so supportive, and I'm always given the opportunity to chat with a senior member of staff. The home is clean and safe, and there is a lovely atmosphere. Thank you, everyone, for the care you are providing. My cousin always looks clean and comfortable and appears peaceful.
Our cousin has been in Bilney Hall Care Home since the middle of June. We have always found the staff to be caring and kind. Nothing is too much trouble and they always have time to update us, to listen to us and explain things. They are always kind and caring with our cousin and treat her with dignity and respect. There was just one occasion when she first went into Bilney when one of the male members of staff was very short and sharp with her. This was reported and nipped in the bud. They were very busy that day. The only, very slight negative is that the room is slightly on the small side but there is a hospital bed in there. It looks like some rooms are bigger. This really isn't a problem though.
My father has been at Bilney Hall Care Home for over eighteen months now and I highly recommend this residential care home. When he first went to Bilney Hall, he was very poorly and my sisters and I did not think that he was long for this world. We cannot praise the manager and staff highly enough for the care that he has received and the turn-around in his well-being. We know they really care and that has been backed up by independent feedback from other healthcare personnel we have spoken to. We were very lucky to have found a place for him there.
