My husband was only in Figham House for 8 days before he died. The care he was given was excellent from the moment he went through the door until after his death. The management and staff were kind, considerate and patient. Every task was done with dignity and respect. I cannot praise them enough.
The care was marvellous and the staff went above any expectations that I had. All the staff including cleaners, laundry, cares were very gentle with my husband. Management were extremely supportive to me and my daughters and son when my husband was on end of life care. All 4 of us were made to feel very welcome and we all stayed for Sunday lunch to when he passed on Wednesday lunch making us tea, sandwiches and letting us sleep. The care given to my husband was fantastic and I can't thank all the staff enough.
Dad was in hospital really poorly, respite care was arranged for Figham on the 10th June 2025. The staff welcomed him so warmly, the care for dad by all the staff was amazing. They all went above and beyond, with all staff have been so wonderful, from the cleaners right through to the laundry to the catering to the manager. We were all allowed to stay in the room with dad, they cared for all of us. So amazing. Dad passed peacefully on the 9th July 2025. Staff became like family and friends to us all.
My dad was sadly only a resident for a short space of time but his care during that time was exemplary. All the staff showed compassion and care to us as a family too. They couldn't do enough for us at such a difficult and emotional time. My only reason for not rating the activities was my dad wasn't well enough to take part and as this is the first time I have had dealings with a care home I think the monetary rating is private. I certainly would not hesitate to recommend Figham House to anyone.
Our aunt was in Figham House and was very happy. The care and kindness shown during her two-year stay were always excellent by all the staff. We never had any problems with anything regarding the home and food. The care home was very well run by the managers and I would recommend this home to anyone. Our aunt died this week at Figham House, and with the care and devotion shown by everyone, this helped us during this sad time. We could sit with her and know she was where she was happy.
I visited a long standing friend in March 2025, sadly during their last hours. I was really impressed by the way Figham House offered my fried dignity in their most vulnerable hours but also looked after everybody connected with my friend. There was a calm, friendly and respectful environment. I have had to visit many care homes over the year and I was struck by the balance of homeliness, cleanliness and contemporary fit out of Figham House. The environment smelt fresh which is not always the case in such establishments. All in all, I felt Figham House looked after my friend, considered their family and was reactive and flexible.
My granny stayed at Figham for a year before she passed away, and the care was amazing. The staff were lovely to both residents and family/friends, and the house was a really nice environment. We felt safe and assured that she was in good hands throughout her stay.
On a whole excellent service in most categories. Staff can't do enough for you. Check on you regularly.
My mum has been a resident at Figham for nearly 3 years. The care she has received throughout her stay has been fantastic. They have treated her as part of a family. I knew if I couldn't visit, they would look after her as well as I did. Having recent experienced their end of life care, I can say that they went to great lengths to make Mum's last weeks as comfortable as possible and to support us as a family. From giving us space and time to be together as a family, to giving drinks and food whenever we needed it. All the staff were amazing. I can't thank them enough for all they did. It made a difficult time so much easier to cope with. Thank you all.
My mum initially came for respite care however, she has settled in and is happy to be here. We are content knowing that she is safe and well cared for by professional, caring and kind staff. All the staff are kind and engaging with her, and she always looks well cared for and clean. She enjoys the food, and we feel happy that she is encouraged to eat her meals with the other residents. She enjoys activities like going for a walk down the beck.
The care my dad has received at Figham House has been second to none. The staff are all incredible and you can see they genuinely care for the residents, it's very comforting knowing that Dad is safe, well looked after and most importantly happy.
Cared for my partners grandmother, all so lovely and welcoming. All the carers had caring relationships with all the patients including my partners grandmother. So attentive and treat each resident as if they were family. Even in my partners grandmothers last hours, carers were not only looking after her every need, making sure she was comfortable but also employees involved in her care rang the home on their days off to see how she was. When we visited, the carers always asked if we wanted anything. They were also so kind about my son who was born prematurely, they were always asking my mother in law for updates on my son and when he was finally able to meet his great grandma, the carers were so glad to see him which to me showed how much they listen to not only their residents but the relatives and are so involved with the care they do. She has now passed but she was so well taken care of and they assured us they will always be there to support. Amazing
All the staff at Figham House gave my mother and our family amazing care during the years she was a resident but especially during the last few weeks of her life. They were all compassionate and caring. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they looked after us all physically and emotionally and it was apparent that they all cared for our mum, very much. During this time we visited day and night, and I noticed that their care was great with all the other residents too. The end of life care they gave our mum and the support they gave our family was second to none and I would not hesitate to recommend Figham House to anyone looking for excellent care for their loved one
My experience here has been positive. Things have been explained with care and support. I have felt able to ask and made aware of any issues. The cleanliness is to a good standard. The food has also been prepared in a varied and sensitive manner. Being a vegetarian I have been given a good choice of food. All are friendly. Inclusion is encouraged, and hospital appointments are made with a chaperone. I have been very happy here.
Mum has been in for nearly a year and she is now settled and happy in her home. She is cared for very well and the staff are great with her. She likes all the staff. More activities would be great as she tends to get a bit bored. I am really happy that she is safe, happy and cared for.
Mum is well cared for. She is happy and now settled in. Would like there to be more activities as she tends to say it's boring sometimes. The staff are really good and she gets on with them well. I am happy she is safe and well cared for.
Mum continues to be happy and settled in Figham care home. She is always very well presented, which everyone comments on and has a smile on her face. Very happy with the care she has received from the staff from the beginning of her stay. I am kept informed about my mother's care and how she is and staff are always available for any queries. Can't thank all the staff enough for all the care given to my mum.
All the staff at Figham House are very patient, kind and caring. The care home is friendly, welcoming and well-organised. My mum is well looked after. The team communicate well with me regarding my mum's needs and any concerns. I also have a number of friends who have moved their relatives from more modern, more expensive care homes to Figham and are much happier with the care received at Figham.
On the whole, as a resident and an individual, most of the time everything is very good. Obviously, at times we have different tastes and ways. I accept this.
My nanna had her 103rd birthday in May, the home organised a lovely party with the mayor. The staff are brilliant and the home is always full of kindness. Nanna continues to remain mobile and enjoys all meals and loves the social part of living at Figham House.
