View Full Details of Corbrook Park Nursing HomeMy mum was a resident at Corbrook Park for several months. I felt secure in the knowledge that she was safe and being well cared for. All of the staff were friendly, caring and supportive to both mum and myself. Any queries we had were immediately answered, or dealt with as was necessary. I would highly recommend Corbrook Park to anyone with a loved one needing respite or residential care.
It was decided between Mum and ourselves that she could no longer look after herself at home and needed to move somewhere where she could be looked after. It fell to us to find somewhere. We looked at several homes and Corbrook came out top. Our initial impressions were very good and they have not changed during the first month. Mums room is reasonably large with room for her to move around so trying to keep her mobility. If I am honest nothing has been too much trouble and they have gone out of their way to make her feel at home. All the staff are helpful and caring spending a lot of time with the residents. A care plan was created at the start and has been adjusted as the staff got to know her better. There have been a few teething issues but we spoke to the support staff and they were addressed very quickly. Mum is still settling in but we are very content with the care that she is receiving and the way in which she is being treated.
I can wholly recommend Corbrooke Car Home. From the first visit by the manager, who was so professional but caring and able to put our minds at rest, through to today, we have received the best care. The Manager and her staff have been so supportive in all aspects of care, informing us as family, along the way and listening to our thoughts and wishes. The whole team get to know the families as well as residents so that you feel very confident in the care provided. There is always a happy atmosphere whenever you visit THANK YOU ALL.
Mum and Dad lived together in Corbrook Park Nursing Home for over two years. They spent their last years together being cared for superbly by the wonderful team at the home. The staff worked hard to get Mum and Dad rooms next to each other so that they could be as close as possible. Due to their respective conditions, Mum and Dad needed a lot of round-the-clock care, which was always on hand from the amazing team. This gave the family much peace of mind that our parents were being well cared for. After Dad had passed, Mum was cared for with great compassion by the care staff and nurses. I couldn't rate Corbrook highly enough and it is a home where they go the extra mile to care for their residents, no matter who they are.
My hubby was a resident for the last 3 months of his life he had Dementia and the care they gave him was first class. I was always made to feel welcome when I came and spent time with him. The last 2 weeks of his life were second to none. They made his last week comfortable and let him pass with dignity and peace which I thank them for.
My father came into Corbrook as an emergency respite for a week. However, his G.P advised that he stay in and eventually that was made permenant. I could not be happier with the way all staff at Corbrook have welcomed dad, encouraged him and helped him through the transition. With gratitude and relief I now know dad is in safe hands and enjoying the food, walks and lovely warm environment. Thanks to all Corbrook Staff.
Always a warm and friendly greeting from staff. I only visit at weekends so cannot comment on day to day. Although staff levels are very low at weekends, those that are at work are very kind and helpful for the residents. A problem that does arise is getting someone to answer the bell for those with toilet problems. Weekend reception is very good always very helpful. Food seems good although a bit repetitive. On the whole happy with the care and cleanliness of residents.
Well treated, food good, kind, attentive staff. Grounds beautiful. Would have liked the resident to walk more, but understand that you have to ask him. He's ready to go home, but has been comfortable here and it's been great to help to me. Many thanks.
Since my father has been a resident, Corbrook Park Nursing Home has been supportive in providing a safe environment. Staff members, care providers and general cleaning members are all very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and on sunny days provide a great space to spend some time outside for fresh air.
There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you enter Corbrook Park Nursing Home. My mum has received excellent care and support from all members of staff, many of whom go above and beyond to ensure that the residents are comfortable and happy, and the relatives are involved and listened to.
Firstly, I found the staff to be pleasant and they responded to any issues I raised. My brother was there for a weeks respite care and what I expect is that, staff see issues and rectify them without my intervention, e.g. every day a cake was provided to all residents in the afternoon with a drink. My brother can't swallow cake and no one offered an alternative until I requested. Television in a part of the room where he could not see it - bedbound. On day 2, no morning care, except a breakfast, until I arrived at 2.30pm. What is missing is effective management presence. Never saw a site manager even when I asked to do so. More examples could be given with additional space.
The standard at Corbrook Park has declined in the last year. Rooms are not as clean as they could be. I have complained several times. I clean my husband's room when it is not up to standard. Some carers have a couldn't care less attitude and are not pleasant enough with residents. Why has the standard dropped? Sometimes meals and cups of tea are not hot enough.
The whole culture through the entire staff team at Corbrook Park has been kind, friendly and professional. Access is easy and it is kept clean and tidy inside and out. We chose Corbrook largely on this basis and that it is well staffed (rather than understaffed which we have found elsewhere). Corbrook is set in a beautiful quiet location where residents can be outside when the weather allows, and in the summer there is outdoor entertainment which our mother enjoyed as well as excursions for those who are able.
Unfortunately, at 97 years old, illness left Mum unable to walk and she was at high risk of falling. She was no longer safe at home. From the moment she was admitted to Corbrook Court, the wonderful staff ensured that Mum was well cared for. Her room was cosy and the food delicious. For the first time in months, I slept soundly knowing that Mum was now safe. I received regular updates and all aspects of Mum's care were clearly explained to me. Mum was bedbound so didn't get the chance to experience the activities provided or spend time in the beautiful gardens, but I saw other residents enjoying them and know that Mum would have loved to join in if she had been in better health. Sadly Mum passed away after only ten days at Corbrook Court. I was telephoned when Mum's condition deteriorated and Mum was comforted and reassured that I was on my way. The staff were so kind to us at this difficult time and made sure we were well looked after into the early hours of the morning.
This nursing home is a lovely place to be a resident. The rooms are lovely. The food is good and the staff pleasant, efficient and attentive. My father enjoyed his time there for respite care after a stay in hospital. It is a pleasant location to visit.
The staff at Corbrook have been wonderful with Mum who has had a 3-week stay for respite after a fall. Mum had a lovely room and took part in activities during the day. Mum's health improved during the stay. I cannot praise the team at Corbrook Park enough thanks so much for the way you have cared for Mum, she can't wait to come back!
I am making my comment and observations based on my wife's first 6 weeks of care. Corbrook is an old but entirely well-appointed nursing home. It is warm at all times and very comfortable. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodate patient needs and wishes in a very effective manner. Nursing and care needs seem to be well catered for. Social needs in the form of daily activities are also well established again in a very friendly way. Everyone speaks to you with an added smile and it feels like a family environment. The home has a good reputation in the local area.
My mother has been a resident at Corbrook for about 12 months now. From the very beginning, she has been beautifully looked after and her family made very welcome. We feel the residents are made to feel like a family who are well cared for and to feel safe. They have a wide range of stimulating activities daily. The grounds are well used weather permitting which lifts their mental well-being. The staff are exceptionally cheerful and caring and often go the extra mile to help a resident.
My mother came to Corbrook Court as a result of a fall last year. Although she took some time to come to terms with being a resident - the staff team have been very kind and understanding as she takes time to settle in. The events co-ordinator has been particularly kind and has established a good rapport with her. Some of the maintenance issues take a little while to be sorted - but the care from the nursing team is good - and much more important. The park is in a lovely setting and the grounds and communal areas are kept to a very high standard.
The room designated to my mother was light and airy with lovely views over the exceptionally well-kept gardens. She found moving to a care home very difficult having been independent all her life. She was 93. The nursing staff, carers and ancillary staff were always pleasant and respectful of her needs and showed a great deal of compassion. They went out of their way to make her comfortable and welcome. The facilities at Corbrook are excellent. When Mum died this month, I was very impressed with how the circumstances were handled, and the staff were so kind to me and my brother. I would recommend Corbrook Park to anyone looking for a nursing home for a relative.
