View Full Details of Meadows EdgeMeadows Edge Home looks clean, well-maintained. I can see that the cleaning staff put effort into keeping it in good condition and ensuring the safety of the residents. All the staff are friendly and polite. The food is tasty and nutritious. I have eating dinner there with my husband.
Big room with nice view over fields. The is a small courtyard but not very pretty and nowhere else to go to outside. The food is OK but very bland and repetitive. I am here because of a spinal injury and waiting to be rehoused - the other residents are dementia patients so hardly anybody to speak to. It feels very lonely. There is one particular patient who regularly barges into my room - most recently at 7am when I was trying to sleep and I found them shouting at me at the foot of my bed. If I do leave the room to exercise around the building it is set out in a rectangle of corridors so if you encounter this person it is very distressing as they often follow and try to touch you. There appears to be a shortage of staff as I need leg stretch exercises performed in my wheelchair twice a day but sometimes there are no staff able bodied enough to do them. Some of the staff here are exceptionally attentive and make a real difference getting through each day.
My experience with Meadows Edge Care Home was exceptional. When my Mum needed care due to Dementia and I was living overseas, it was a constant worry. However, we couldn’t have found a better place for her. The staff, especially a certain member of staff, went above and beyond. She not only performed her duties with excellence but also facilitated video calls between my Mum and me, which meant the world to us. During my Mum's passing, the staff continued to support me, guiding me through the process and assisting with arrangements. I am deeply grateful to them for their compassionate and professional care. I wholeheartedly recommend Meadows Edge Care Home for their outstanding service in looking after my Mum.
My mum's been in Meadows Edge for the last 9 months and they have been consistently excellent with her. She has dementia, is blind and limited mobility. She's still able to talk, but, less so now than when she first arrived, is often agitated, unsettled and sad. That's not her nature, but part of her condition. One constant from Meadows Edge, that I believe has helped Mum is the staff - they genuinely care in all senses of the word. The facilities are much improved now, they've undergone some significant improvements since mum's been there. She's moved rooms and they were quick to adapt to her specific needs.
My mum went into Meadows Edge home in December for Palliative Care. I couldn't have asked for a better home for her. The staff were very professional and caring. Very attentive. She loved the staff there. Nothing was too much trouble. When she passed away they were very professional in every aspect. She was so well cared for. Thank you to all the staff there.
Meadows Edge's wonderful staff looked after Mum for 6 years because of her dementia. We couldn't fault the care provided for Mum, and they managed to make her laugh and enjoy herself, during the most difficult time of her life. They went above and beyond with the care and support that they gave to Mum, and kept us informed whenever they needed to. We want to say a massive thank you to past and present staff who were there for Mum and us. We couldn't have got through any of it without your love and support.
This home is excellent they deal with my dad, whom I can say with hand on my heart is not exactly the easiest person to deal with when he is in a mood with his dementia ect, but these lot have all the time in the world with him and deal with him 5*. He was at another place but not a patch on the girls here, they manage to get him washed changed fed meds down him when others struggled !!! And he’s always dancing and singing nothing is to much trouble. I would recommend this place to anyone, well done to all staff here I love you all and thank you for looking after my dad as I would.
The friendliness of everybody, from the manager, carers, nurses. They gave my mother time, the carers even popped in to see my mother, even when they were off duty.
The care given to my father surpassed all expectations. The patience and time given were excellent. The staff were cheerful and supportive at all times and nothing was too much trouble.
My mother has been in this nursing home for 11 months after having 12 weeks in hospital. They do lots of activities with all the residents. All staff are friendly and my mum says she likes it at Meadows Edge.
My mother has been a resident at Meadows Edge for 2.5 years and in that time she has been well cared for. I have visited mother on a regular basis 3/4 times a week so therefore I have first-hand knowledge of how she was being cared for at the home. The carers carry out a very responsible job and are doing this excellently. The duty nurses are very caring and will always find time to talk things over and reassure me when it is required. The cleaners are all gems, they do not only clean, they ask how residents are and engage in conversations and from personal experience they have gone beyond the call of duty and reassured my mother when she became anxious. The home is under a new manager has improved immensely and there are visible signs of great improvements in the decorations of the inside and outside areas of the building. I cannot thank ALL the staff enough for looking after my mother and giving me reassurance and help whenever I may have needed it. With Sincere Thanks.
My dad lived here for nearly 4 years. He had vascular dementia and for the first 2 years challenging and aggressive behaviour. I found all contact that I had with staff to be friendly and informative. I think that the home has a homely feel and that the staff understood my dads needs well. I saw evidence of his dignity being respected, of staff remaining calm when he was aggressive, staff being able to make my dad smile and also know that time was spent with him on a one to one basis between my visits undertaking something that he was interested in. I saw that my dad had trust in the staff there and I felt confident to entrust his care to them. I was informed of any deterioration in his health and if he had any accidents. I really admire the care and compassion the nurses and carers showed my dad.
Very nice place and lovely staff. The home has about 45 rooms, some in old building ans some very nicely decorated in new building with own en-suit. Families are always very welcome. I have seen lots of different activities and happy residents.
