View Full Details of Barchester Lindum HouseFrom the 1st look around the home until the day my Dad went home the entire workforce took such pride in their work. Following several months in hospital followed by a month in a sub standard care home elsewhere the staff turned an underweight depressed man into a cheerful outgoing happy chap. He loved every day with the wide variety of activities on offer, he loved the food and nothing was too much trouble if he needed help.
I would say my experience is really very good, the staff are exceptional it is just that at times there does seem to be a shortage of staff, particularly on a night. Also as the home is set over two floors there probably needs to be more staff allocated to each floor. Another comment would be regarding size of toilet in the rooms, they are too small to accommodate a rollator making it difficult for my husband to use unaided.
My Mam has been a resident of Lindum House for around 4 years now and as a family we are 100% happy with the care provided. Mum has had a number of challenges to overcome this year, having lost her dear friend and companion whom was a fellow resident of Lindum in the early part of the year along with some general health issues associated with her dementia. But rest assured the Management and Staff were always on hand to support my Mum both physically and emotionally. Additionally, the daily and weekly activities are excellent and are thoroughly enjoyed by residents and family alike. In summary, I would have no hesitation in recommending Lindum House as a care provider, the Management, Staff and Care workers all work extremely hard and more importantly they genuinely care. Thank you to all at Lindum House, you are doing an amazing job. Best Regards Tony
Overall my experience with the care home has been a positive one. My family member is well looked after here and the staff know how to deal with her really well. Plenty of activities for residents to join in with Wide range for food menus to choose from Always welcoming when I walk through the door staff always say hello be it cleaners admin kitchen staff carers....
My brother recently stayed at Lindum House for a period of respite, enabling him to have a holiday and revisit old haunts for the first time in several years. The staff couldn't have been kinder or more accommodating, ensuring my brother's care needs were met, while allowing us to go out during the day. The whole experience was relaxed and happy. I cannot thank Lindum House enough for making this possible.
A warm, welcoming and caring environment which is well maintained. Every member of the team is friendly and helpful and accepts ownership of any questions or issues even if it isn't their direct role - no sloping shoulders!! Respect and dignity are prominent attributes along with a friendly support team who engage with my mother in conversation and friendly banter whilst going about their day-to-day duties. A full programme of activities to choose from and a dining menu which is freshly prepared and changes every day.
My mum came to Lindum House a few months ago now after being in another private care facility. There is a big difference with Lindum and the staff...in a very positive way. As a family, we are all very happy with how the Management and staff are with Mum. It's a very proactive place to live. There is energy and fun in the atmosphere and the staff seem to really care. My old Mum is probably one of the most negative people on earth, nothing will ever be right by her but we know different. We know she is getting good care. They actively encourage her to participate in group activities which is a real win as Mum chooses to isolate herself for choice because that is what happened at the other home. Thank you to everyone who is so patient with her and for the excellent food standards. As a family we are all relived that Mum is settled and is slowly letting down some of her brick walls!
My Mum absolutely loves living at Lindum House. Everyone is so kind and caring and she has such great relationships with all the staff and other residents. She's always busy socialising or doing activities and since going to live at Lindum House she has really improved both physically and mentally.
I received a call to let me know my mum had become unwell and paramedics had been called , I was given a detailed explanation of what the paramedics had said and she listened to my views, she was very reassuring and told me that they are keeping a close eye on her and that they would ring me if mum became worse and that they would call me with an update in the morning after she had finished her night shift, I received a call as promised and again given a full update, the staff are professional and caring and show empathy and understanding and I fully appreciated the call to reassure me . I have always received a call to inform me of any changes with my mum and I really cannot thank the staff for the care they give ,
We are very pleased with the care and patience my sister is is being giving. The staff are really good with her and try to include her in various activities. She has been a resident at Lindum house for over year now and, although her dementia has got worse she is happy there.
Everyone at Lindum House was extraordinary, caring for my mother with such love and respect that her final months gave her the comfort and dignity she deserved. We cannot express in words our gratitude to the Lindum House staff.
Our mum came to Lindum House in the autumn of 2023 following a stroke at the age of 93, and after decades of independent living. We had looked at several homes, and chose Lindum for the instant warm, caring 'vibes' it emitted - and we were not wrong in our assessment. The manager and her team put us at ease that mum would be in good hands. Mum quickly settled into life at Lindum, with the buzzing atmosphere, friendly, caring and attentive staff and lovely surrounding gardens and clean, well organised facilities. Until her recent passing, mums quality of life in her last 18 months has been wonderful. Right until the end, the Lindum team showed great respect and warmth towards mum, and she was happy. We really cannot think of a better endorsement than that.
My mum has been a resident of Barchester Lindum House, Beverley, for a lot of years, she has been looked after so very well by all long-time members of staff and new ones too. The last few months I have noticed a decline in my mum and she is a little more challenging but as always, the care Mum receives is second to none, I always tell people of the fantastic love and care Mum gets, it's a big relief for me when I leave Mum, she is always in the hands of people that really care. I can't thank you all enough and last but not least, a massive thank you to the manager for all she has done for Lindum House, Merry Christmas to you all.
Thank you so much to all the staff for making a very difficult journey easier. I never thought my mum would settle away from our house but with all your help and support, she has. She has even booked herself onto a trip out without me. She hasn't been anywhere without family for over ten years. You are all truly amazing.
I have been a resident for 5 months I love it, it's home from home, and the staff are friendly I take part in all the activities. The food is lovely the staff and management are so nice. I am so happy! I didn't want to give up my home but it was the right choice for me as I have lots of friends and lovely people to keep me company.
My aunt was a resident at Barchester Lindum House until her recent passing. She thoroughly enjoyed living there and the care she received was second to none. From the day she arrived, the kindness and patience of the staff was superb, until her final days where I can only thank them for their compassion. My family and I will always be very thankful to the staff for their empathy and respect... and for the carers who went above and beyond to make her stay there so very comfortable.
My dad has been a resident at Lindum House for over 12 months now. He has received excellent care and all of the staff, without exception, have been absolutely fantastic. They have a very caring attitude towards all of us, particularly my mum, and are very supportive. They always treat my dad with respect and the utmost dignity.
My husband has been very happy at this care home, and has been very well looked after by the caring and friendly staff, he was quite poorly when he went into this home but has recovered tremendously all due to the care he has been given thank you.
My dad has been in Lindum House for just over 12 months now. The care and support that he has been given is second to none. He is treated with respect and as an individual, which is what we hoped for. All of the staff are lovely and are very welcoming when I and other family members visit, which we do regularly. We never wanted Dad to have to go into a home and it was a big adjustment to us, as he had a rapid deterioration due to a serious decline in his medical condition. But this really is a home-from-home. It was a difficult choice but Lindum House was, and is, the right choice. I would definitely recommend it.
My mum has been a resident in Lindum House since January 2024. She has really settled into the home and made some lovely friends who she chats away with. The care home have daily activities to keep the residents engaged and they enjoy their monthly trip to the pub for some 60's music and a dance! We cannot fault the staff, who have been amazing and helped my mum settle in and look after her needs whilst allowing her independence too. Everyone knows our mum and chats away with her. Having tried other care homes for respite Lindum has by far been the most suited for our mum which has been such a huge relief for us.
