View Full Details of Croftbank HouseMy Mum has called Croftbank her home for over 3 years and she is very content there. I visit almost everyday and I am always met with friendly & attentive staff who now know my Mum very well. I believe the staff try their very best & endeavour to provide very genuine, personal care. There is always a good buzz & atmosphere with lots of stimulation & activities. The nursing staff are great and my Mum's diabetes control has improved with their consistent support. All in all, moving to Croftbank has been a positive experience for my Mum and all the family.
Dad came to live at Croftbank House in May. His first contact with the care home was when in hospital. The team that came to see him made him feel valued and respected. From this gentle, sensitive visit we knew we wanted dad to live at Croftbank. Six months on, dad has settled in to his new home. He is given person centred support directly looking at his needs. We have been kept fully updated and involved in dads care. The care staff are so attentive, they work as a team, are hugely approachable and always happy to help. We value the amazing role they play in dads life. Dad is involved in thoughtful activities. There is 100% energy and excitement put in to organising and delivering events. Croftbank is so welcoming and continually takes pride in the maintenance and comfort of the home. Dad had lost his sparkle but now feels safe and with the excellent care and homely, happy environment we as a family are being given an opportunity to see dad shine again.
My father-in-law has been in Croftbank for a matter of weeks. As anticipated there have been some basic issues which the family felt the need to highlight, as is the case with every care home. However, every concern or basic issue has been addressed to our satisfaction. As time goes by we have identified some wonderful staff and we have been made to feel comfortable making suggestions to further enhance my father-in-law's stay. We recently had an issue which could only be resolved by close liaison between Croftbank and the Medical Centre and it was concluded to our satisfaction (and gratitude) over a very short period of time. While families should quite rightly highlight issues which concern them it is also essential that we voice our appreciation to the staff who demonstrate empathy and care in a professional manner. In my experience to date I have highlighted far more positives than negatives. We feel confident we have chosen the correct home for a much loved man.
I could not recommend Croftbank Nursing home highly enough. I visit my friend who took up residence in May this year. He has had first class care and attention. It's a pleasure going to visit, the staff are so welcoming to family and friends.
Horrific experience for my mother and our family in the final months of my amazing mother's life. Management team abysmal. Palliative care sub standard. Communication awful from the start. Only due to myself being an experienced nurse and having close friend who are working in palliative care did she manage some peace in her final hours. Before this last period I discovered her flat on her back, soaking in urine and fluids from her legs, oxygen unattached and my poor mother in deep distress and discomfort. No answer to call bell so I got her semi comfortable before seeking out of staff. On speaking to clinical manager she denied the state I found her in trying to gaslight me to believe she had been fine and hour before which would have been 40 mins given the time I was with her. My mother went in this place for respite initially and unfortunately due to lack of nursing homes in the area we were stuck. From the start emails with our concerns went unanswered.
Mum is well looked after and the staff are caring towards her and always ask how I am too. Her needs are usually met promptly. There are many activities on offer most days and residents are encouraged to join in although mum chooses not to
I am increasingly impressed by everything at this care home. My mother has been a resident for over a year now and she has thrived since she arrived. All the staff are caring, compassionate and kind to everyone, residents and visitors! I'm noticing new additions and little touches of new furniture and fittings whic( making the home very welcoming! I'd have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone!
My mum moved to Croftbank House in March 2024 and sadly passed away in May 2025..During her time there the staff were very helpful and caring keeping me updated regularly through their Resident of the day program and any other time required. I can't thank the staff of Croftbank wing enough for their support, compassion and professionalism to both Mum and the family during the weeks leading to Mum passing.
My dear aunt was accepted into Croftbank House during the first covid lockdown in 2020. It was a difficult time for us all, but for care home staff and residents, it was awful. However, Croftbank House went out of its way to ensure that family visits went ahead as safely as possible and that residents were fully protected. Beyond covid, the care given to my aunt by all the staff was fantastic - warm, caring, sensitive and full of empathy. It made her 5 year stay as comfortable and as happy as possible. The staff do a very difficult job well, with professionalism and integrity. It made me confident that my aunt was in a safe place and I didn't have to worry about her wellbeing. Sadly, she passed away peacefully in May 2025, but to the very end, the staff treated her with compassion, love and dignity.
My sister has just completed her six month review, having moved into Croftbank in July24. Like many I'm sure, we her family worried how she would adapt to her new life having lived alone in her own house for some years. No need to worry. She often volunteers that she is so happy in her new surroundings. She loves her little room with so many of her own things around her. Her door is open much of the time so that everyone who passes by can say hello and they do. She made friends immediately and they visit each other, share a dining table and go to activities and outings together. and at the end of the day she can close the door and cosy down with her TV. She has wi-fi so her family can chat to her - different folks every day on video calls (a boon for those with dementia). She just loves all the foods so beautifully cooked - old favourites and try something new. Wishlist-Shower in her room. All the staff are first class, friendly, welcoming and supportive of us too. What a relief.
My mum went into Croftbank House in August 2024 and she settled very quickly and has been very settled ever since. She is treated extremely well by all members of staff who are very attentive to her needs. As her daughter, it is very comforting to see her and to know she's safe and getting the best care suited to her needs. Many thanks.
Our family is so happy that our mother is a resident at Croftbank. She is very happy there and the staff are very attentive and caring. We have some experience of other care homes and there is no doubt that Croftbank is one of the best in the region. The new home manager is determined to improve things further through greater involvement of the families which is a fantastic initiative and we wish her well.
The care home staff were very caring and gentle with my mother - who was not always easy to deal with or good at mixing. The staff always treated her with great care and dignity. She was a resident for two years and the family always felt she was safe and well cared for.
My mum is very happy there. Both Mum and myself have been treated with respect and friendliness. I am kept up to date with any health concerns or issues. I consider it to be a cosy, friendly, loving place and all credit to the management and staff.
My mum has been here for nearly two years now, and it was due to Mum's condition that she was unfortunately not able to stay at home on her own. Since being here, my mum has flourished in herself, her confidence has grown, care is second to none, and most staff know my mum personally and can tell me what she's been up to. The daily activities are fantastic, and residents are encouraged to take part; there is a wide variety of things to do, but Friday is a favourite as there is entertainment on, and they love the live music. I know that Mum does, for sure, kick her legs in her wheelchair - she still joins in. The surroundings are super clean and homely, and the staff take pride in this. The food is also super, and encouragement from staff to help residents who may need support is on hand. Staff are approachable and helpful to speak to with any inquiries or concerns that you may have. My family have been very happy at the change for our mum as she is super secure, relaxed, well looked after, and her needs met.
My parent is well cared for by all the staff at Croftbank House. They all know her and call her by her name and treat her respectfully at all times. If I have had any concerns regarding my parent these have been dealt with in a professional and timely manner by the staff. They keep me updated on any changes in my parent's health. I am very happy with the level of care she receives.
I always find the staff very friendly and approachable. They keep me informed on all levels of my mother's care. I am very happy with the care my mother is given. I appreciate all they do for mum and let me know if she has any needs such as clothes and toiletries.
ALL staff, clerical and nursing, are extremely caring, helpful and kind and cheerful at all times and can't do enough to make the residents and family comfortable and welcome, especially during the most difficult and distressing time of Covid.
This review relates to the period of covid19 virus. On 10th March, the care home manager held a relatives meeting to update us on action already taken and proposed actions. This gave me confidence that the home was well prepared. A few days later, the home went into lockdown. Although the separation has been very difficult, it has been made so much easier by excellent communication with the home and group management. My Mother is very deaf and partially sighted so direct communication is not possible, but despite how busy the staff are, when I phone, they take time to update me and assure me that she is fine and settled. The Facebook group demonstrate the efforts that staff have made to keep the residents entertained and provides a valuable link for relatives. Management and staff have gone above and beyond under very stressful conditions, and I will be forever grateful for their dedication. So relieved that there were no virus cases.
Looks fantastic. Not all that seems. Definitely nursing care. Not residential. Continuous room alarms going all the time. Mum stressed all the time there. Not the care I would expect and moved to a better home in less than 2 weeks.
