View Full Details of Hamewith Lodge Care HomeExtremely happy with my mum's care. The staff are fantastic, and my mum is happy and loved. She is so happy in the home. Food is excellent. The cooks are wonderful. I'd like to see a wee bit more activities and more in the garden.
Our Mum has been a resident at Hamewith Lodge since September 2023. Our Mum went from being a strong independent person to requiring 24 hour care overnight. For us as a family we found this extremely distressing and not what we were used to. The staff at Hamewith have helped us as a family with this transition. They are always professional, warm and caring even under the pressure of working within the care sector. We enjoy visiting the home and interact with the staff and residents, often having a wee sing song. We attended the recent open day and could see how much fun the residents and families had sitting out in the sunshine being entertained. The catering the home provided was exceptional. The recent care report published is not our experience of Hamewith and I was shocked by the contents as it is not what we have experienced. I work within the NHS and sing Hamewith's praises to my colleagues.
I find the care here is first class. Never had any problems. Staff are all easy to approach and very helpful, from kitchen staff to management. They do lots of activities with residents and have entertainment quite often.
My Mum has been at Hamewith lodge since September of 2023 and it's great to see that she's cared for, respected and loved by the carers that look after her on a daily basis. As a family, we've built up a relationship with the staff, are kept up to date with her needs and health - they often notice things that we haven't because they know her so well: My Mum can no longer talk in sentences, but you see that sparkle in her eyes that she's happy and if she is then we are. The poor report that is currently circulating isn't our families experience and I feel that everyone is low at the moment but they'll come back fighting because they are amazing at their job and love their Hamewith family. As it says in the corridor, "Our residents dont live in our workspace we work in their home." In my opinion there's never a truer word said. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars to activities is because they can only do as much as their budget allows!
My aunt and uncle moved in just before Christmas 2024. Unfortunately my uncle passed away soon after. The care they receive has been fantastic. The staff are encouraging, thoughtful and caring. My aunt is still trying to settle due to new surroundings and the loss of her husband and I can't praise the staff enough for being there for her. The staff have also helped me in understanding how difficult it has been, nothing is too much trouble for them and they go out of their way to help.
For the short period of time my wife has been in the home, the management and staff have been excellent at helping her settle in, working round any mobility problems she has. They treat her as if she was one of their family and the home is clean and well organised with plenty staff all available as and when required.
Mum has been at Hamewith Lodge for more than two years and has a good rapport with the staff. The staff are kind, caring and very helpful. They are very prompt in dealing with any issues or requests. Nothing is too much trouble for them. We are very happy with the care Mum receives at Hamewith Lodge.
This is a very welcoming home with carers who clearly care for the residents. I personally think that my cousin really feels at home and feels that the carers are like friends rather than doing their job. It takes patient people to do this job and Hamewith has certainly struck luck with the staff they have.
Very pleasant staff and a nice, clean home. Very helpful, and my brother gets well-fed.
My father-in-law's health and mental state have improved immensely since moving to Hamewith Lodge. He is happy, has regained the weight he has lost and is more engaged and alert than he has been for a long time. Staff are friendly and approachable They have taken time to get to know my father-in-law's likes, dislikes and sense of humour. They treat him with patience, kindness and dignity. We, as a family, thank them for caring for him and keeping him engaged and happy.
I had always been content with the care my dad received at Hamewith however the past four or five weeks the care has been immense. The environment and overall feeling in the home have improved so much. Staff appear to be more happier and this then goes onto my dad and other residents. A great care home with great staff. Management always approachable, even the new guy, he always smiling.
My dearly loved husband had terminal Prostate Cancer and Parkinson's Disease with Lewy Body Dementia. He fought a 7.5 years battle. He went to Hamewith Lodge Nursing Home at the end of August 2023 after his health started to decline. He couldn't be looked after by us anymore as he needed 24/7 care. He stayed there until his death in January 2024, but happily managed to celebrate is 74th birthday and spent Christmas Day and night at home before he passed. He was continually assessed and his care plan changed to meet his needs as he declined. He had excellent care throughout his stay and his end-of-life care, after a one day stay in hospital, was exceptional. He was treated with so much dignity and respect that his death was made slightly easier knowing that his needs were being met. Myself, our daughter and his beloved dog, Bear, stayed with him until he passed. All of the staff always looked after us well, and I would like to offer them all a huge thank you for all they did for us.
My mum came to Hamewith Lodge in September 2023. Prior to this, she had been in two other care facilities and we wanted her to receive the best of care because she deserved it. We are so glad we chose Hamewith, from the time my sister and I walked in we knew that Mum would fit in. There was a short wait but we are glad she got a place. The staff treat Mum and the other residents like individuals. Mum's family and friends are also treated very well. Mum loves music so the staff ensure she attends all the events. Her clothes are always clean and the food is lovely. This care home is how they should all be.
My grandad has been here a little over a year and everyone here feels like family. It was daunting having to place him into a care home but the staff have been nothing short of incredible, they are so down to earth and have been amazing with him and us! Nothing is ever too much hassle for them.
Hamewith Lodge is friendly and caring. The nurses and even the cleaning staff give you a warm welcome. The managerial staff are very down to earth, this makes them easy to talk to. The fact that Hamewith Lodge has outside space was a great bonus for placing my brother there. He hasn't been there long but has settled in well. His room is a good size. He is well cared for. The only negative point - could have more than one shower on his floor.
I am always very happy to leave my wee pal here. She is well taken care of and seems happy and very well cared for. The staff here all deserve medals - thank you.
My friend has been resident in the Hamewith Lodge Care Home for almost a year. I have found all the staff to be very friendly, hard-working and very caring towards my friend. I am so pleased that the standard of care is so high. The manager is very approachable and informative. A great care home in my view.
I find the care home very hygienically clean. Staff are very polite and interact with clients, they also care about them. The rooms are kept clean. I gave them 10 out of 10, they keep in touch with the family if there are any issues.
I find Hamewith Lodge a very friendly place. All staff go out of their way to help or assist you if needed. Staff are very easy to approach.
Happy enough with the staff and the service in the staff give my husband.
