View Full Details of Oakleigh Residential Care HomeOur family member had been treated with respect and kindness. We are kept informed of any medical appointments and any change in health if necessary. They allow the residents wife to attend lunch with him and she has taken this opportunity up for Easter and Christmas Day. She visits regularly and had attended some of the entertainment afternoons, which she also enjoys. All in all this is a lovely little care home set in a village location.
I can not over emphasise how good the care my mother receives. She has been in Oakleigh for the last eighteen months and the staff have been most supportive of her failing health. I get notified whenever there are more serious issues, so the communication is great. All the staff are welcoming when I visit.
My Mum entered the Care Home just before Xmas 2024. She and I found the introduction very warm and welcoming. The staff are very attentive and also very informative and keep me updated at all times. They ensure Mum is kept clean and tidy, even providing a hairdresser and manicurist visiting regularly. Excellent food and drink is provided at breakfast, lunch and dinner times and can be provided in addition if requested. Happy smiling faces are clearly evident.
My mother has been extremely well looked after and cared for by very dedicated staff at Oakleigh. It is very comforting to know that she is safe and all of her needs are met. They have a very good relationship with local GP practice who attends as needed.
Care- comfort-kindness. It's hard to give up a loved one, that has been cared for at home. Oakleigh and their lovely team of carers, helped both of us to do just that. I can visit whenever I want, and tea and coffee are never far away. It's lovely for me that somebody can share my ' load '. Understanding his needs is paramount, and providing help for any health issues that occur. On a daily basis, there is ongoing activities most afternoons, and a carer to help stimulate there abilities each morning. All delivered with Care- Comfort-and Kindness.
This is a caring, safe and homely environment. Oakleigh is a relatively small home and, as a result, the staff have an excellent knowledge and individual understanding of the residents. I feel that my mother is closely monitored and looked after with the utmost care. The home has a lovely garden and outside space is very important to Mum. All staff - carers, cleaners, kitchen staff, caretakers and management - treat residents with respect and understanding. Enrichment activities are well organised and frequent - weekly arts and crafts, exercise classes, visits from local school children and therapy pets - to name but a few. Meals are home cooked in the kitchen at Oakleigh and residents are given a choice of main meals each day. Medical issues are closely monitored and the local doctor has a close relationship with the home - and is called upon immediately if there are concerns. Communication between the home and residents' families is excellent. I cannot recommend highly enough.
Mum was a resident with dementia, she was allowed to be herself with guidance and monitoring from staff. Her main pleasure was eating, she really enjoyed the wonderful home-cooked meals, and biscuits with staff who kept her company while she was wide awake at nights. The home suited her needs, space to walk around with the feel of a family bungalow. Mum had stayed for respite in three different care homes, but came out very distressed each time. Oakleigh was the only one she returned happy, so we knew this was the best place when full-time care was needed.
My nan was well-loved at Oakleigh by all staff and, as her dementia progressed, her needs were met to make sure she was as comfortable as possible. The food is excellent, being home-cooked meals with generous portions. This was something that brought my nan joy, most other activities were a struggle. As visitors, we always felt welcomed and the 'help yourself' cafe in the conservatory was our favourite place to go. It being a small independent care home, it really feels like a family home.
My auntie spent 26 months at Oakleigh Care Home. She was 95 when she went there, she was quite immobile, she required a lot of care and looking after, what I love the most about the home was that over two years, she was looked after by the same dedicated team and staff, and that says a lot for any business! The manager and her staff took great care of my auntie nothing was too much, my auntie was always left comforted and reassured by this dedicated and caring team, the food was always fresh, homemade and tasty, and the home was always clean and warm with a great atmosphere. I would see residents relaxing in the communal rooms and there is a lovely coffee shop room for people visiting their relatives, all in all, I will give Oakleigh a big 10 out of 10 and recommend it to anybody, what we all got was peace of mind and that is priceless.
My mum moved to Oakleigh Care Home at the end of November 2023. Since the day she moved in, the staff have been kind, caring and compassionate. They have accommodated my mother's hobbies and interests in order for her to settle at the home. The food is great, and the care is amazing. The home is clean and tidy, with several communal areas to relax. Staff are always available to answer questions and responsive when issues are raised. Thank you for caring for my mum.
My Dad was a resident for approx 8 months. The Manager and her team worked very closely with his family to make sure that Dad’s care needs were met. The care home offers a safe, friendly and home-from-home environment, with trained staff who provide personalised care and support. The staff went that extra mile to ensure my Dad was happy and contented living there. All the food is homemade and offers the residents a variety of meals and desserts. My dad had the best time of his last few months in a loving care home, surrounded by people who cared for him and I felt like we were one big happy family. I would highly recommend this care home for your loved one.
My uncle came to stay at Oakleigh for some respite after having chemo and needing some extra help. My uncle has a wonderful time at Oakleigh. The staff were very friendly, kind and caring, exactly how you would expect care home staff to be. It was the respite he needed.
My mother is a resident and has been for three years. The management and staff have not only cared for her but supported us during this time. During Covid, they did all in their power to ensure the residents were safe and, as a result, did not have one case. The staff's dedication shone over this time, with many leaving their loved ones to care for ours. They still go that extra mile, which assures us Mum is in safe hands and lives in a home that truly cares about her. The food is all homemade, varied and uses fresh ingredients. Because it is a smaller care home and the staff have worked there for many years, they know the residents extremely well. This gives the home a comfortable, friendly, home-from-home feeling. They have many activities, which include crafting and exercise classes, which Mum enjoys very much. I am extremely happy with Oakleigh and am sure all future residents will be happy there too.
The recent changes within the home structure have significantly improved the standards within the home. The care and support given by the carers to the residents has always been first class. The recent refurbishments have made the home much brighter and more attractive. The food is excellent, varied and plentiful. I am very happy that my loved one is being very well cared for and looked after.
