View Full Details of Abbey Lodge Care HomeMy mother has been a resident at Abbey logde care home for nearly a year, and the experience has been overwhelmingly positive. The staff are not only professional but also genuinely caring. They treat her with dignity and patience, and it gives me real peace of mind. The facility is always clean and well-maintained. There are regular activities, and the team makes a real effort to keep residents engaged and happy. I particularly appreciate the open communication-they keep us informed and always take time to answer our questions. I would highly recommend Abbey Logde care home to any family looking for a safe and loving environment for their loved ones.
This is a friendly home, meals are tasty.
I can find no fault with the care home and the residents seem well.
My mum feels very happy here. All the staff have high levels of care & dignity when caring for mum. Food is satisfactory but could be improved. Think 3 of the carers are excellent.
We are all absolutely delighted at the care that has been shown to my Mum since her move to Abbey Lodge. A special mention to 5 members of staff in particular.
I am beginning to understand the concept of a care home. It is my home now and I am safe here and all needs are cared for freeing my family up to get on with their own lives without the stress of looking after me. The staff have been understanding and helpful in allowing me to settle in.
I am very pleased with the care and attention my wife gets in your care.
Everyone is very helpful and pleasant. My aunt is treated with care and often. Bed beautifully clean at all times.
The staff are caring and very nice. The food is good. The room is clean and comfy.
We find Abbey Lodge Care Home a lovely place for my father-in-law. He has settled in well and is getting good care. All staff are very friendly and approachable. Always willing to take him to another room or area for us. We can pop in at any time. He gets plenty of varied food which he wasn't getting at home. His room is comfortable and warm. They are taking care of his medical needs now too and not relying on his GP.
The family have had a very positive experience since my father-in-law arrived in June 2024. It has been a difficult time but we have been reassured by the care he has received so far. I appreciate it is such a demanding role for all staff but we have always had our questions answered and my father-in-law has not lost his spirit for life and has settled in well.
The staff are wonderful, they do their best for everyone to stay enjoying life. They sing.
All in all was to my utmost satisfaction and amazing care.
All of the staff are great in Abbey Lodge. My mum has been here for many years, and it cared for with respect and dignity. I have a lot of respect for the carers doing this very challenging job. Always lots of activities going on.
My experience is one of disappointment and frustration. My first concern would be the attitude of the staff when approached about an issue. In this instance my mother's room was dirty. She had no water in her bedside jug. When questioned the staff immediately went into defence mode instead of an acknowledgement. When I requested my mother was only given her own clothes to wear the response was our laundry is busy we have 75 residents! Another mantra we have agency staff.
Wonderful place, everyone very pleasant, you are greeted by everyone that passes, staff always laughing singing and enjoying a banter with residents which they love, residents are treated like what you would hope for your family.
We viewed Abbey Lodge as a possibility for my mum. We were very impressed with the facilities in the home and with the rooms. The staff member who gave us the tour was excellent and answered all our questions, which were many. My mum has now moved into Abbey Lodge and although it's still early days, she seems quite happy and relaxed with it all. Everyone has made her feel very welcome.
Mum and Dad have lived in this home for a while but things have progressed in the last few months. New management is approachable and helpful. Dad became poorly in December and was in hospital. We know he would not get better. The home did everything to get him back home quickly with all the equipment he needed. So his last days could be spent with his wife and children by his side. Nothing was too much trouble for the home.
My dad had lived at Abbey Lodge since September 2022. He passed away on Christmas Day. The care, support and love shown to him during this time was exceptional. I cannot thank the staff and management enough for everything they did for him. He was happy and content throughout his time there. It was the best decision we could have made. Thank you to everyone at Abbey Lodge.
The resident has been bed bound for many months now and receives effective, sensitive and diligent nursing and social care. Great care is taken with all aspects of her physical and emotional care, and communication with the staff team is regular and effective. Any small issue I raise in discussion is responded to and followed up. Particularly impressed with the adjustments made to changing needs so she has nutritional food, plenty of fluids and patient and understanding assistance with these aspects. Also, efforts were made to provide stimulation to calm her which uses her known interests, despite her deteriorating communication!
