View Full Details of Invicta CourtPerfect place to rest and heal the mind body. The garden is restful and beautifully designed. The rooms are immaculately kept and most overlook the beautiful trees. The staff are very happy and management are a credit to any businines. Relaxed but in charge. I am 90 years old.
My mother settled into invicta Court over 3 years ago and sees it as her home. The staff attend to her personal care needs well. I am particularly impressed that they can detect when she is going downhill and react to the situation immediately, as in a recent UTI . This is a confort to me.
My Mum has now been at Invicta Court for a month, having spent all of her life in Devon. The whole experience has been exceptional from my first enquiry through to my Mum's arrival in June. The Customer Relations Manager remained in contact throughout the process of relocating Mum along with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager. Also a big thank you to the two Team Leaders and the Team for helping to settle Mum in so quickly and your support to the family. The activity programme that Invicta Court has in place definitely helps the residence to socialise and interact with each other and the Team and I'm convinced this is why there is such a community spirit throughout.
Top class care home, staff lovely nothing is too much trouble, very caring and they make time to chat to residents and their family's to enure they are happy. Lots of activities to keep resident's minds and body's active and entertained.
We had to make a quick decision following the sudden death of my father as my mum's ability to cope (with Alzheimer's) was deteriorating. We were welcomed and an assessment took place to ensure mum could be cared for in the right way. It was the toughest time for us as a family and mum took a long time to settle, constantly talking about going home with her bags packed ready to leave. The staff have been amazing at supporting and getting to know mum and taking the time to get to know and reassure us when we've found it tough. They are incredible, kind, responsive and they know mum, and spot immediately if she's not herself. From the carers to reception staff, hostess to lifestyle team, gardener, domestic staff and hairdresser. All are experienced in distraction techniques and are reassuring, always say hello and stop for a few words. A real home from home. The leadership team have been responsive and available. My family will be forever grateful for the care and kindness shown.
My husband and I joined my mother -in-law for the VE Celebrations Event at Invicta Court. The staff had really gone above and beyond in organising this event. The cafeteria and cinema room were festively decorated. Many of the staff were dressed in war time clothing which made it all feel quite authentic! They served beautifully presented delicious food and there was a lovely lady who entertained us all with some beautiful British war time songs. The atmosphere was wonderful and you could see the smiles on residents' faces, remembering this special day 80 years ago, but of course also remembering the difficult war time years. The afternoon finished with a fantastic display of military vehicles and personnel outside. Today it was again clear to see how happy the residents were and how well they are cared for by the staff, who are so respectful, attentive, kind and caring. Thank you to everyone for this special event remembering a period in history which must never be forgotten.
My relative is absolutely loving being at Invicta Court. She has really come out of herself since arriving and now takes part in so many of the wonderful activities that are offered. The staff know all the relatives when we come in to visit and they make us feel welcome and listened to, always making time to talk to us and address any queries. My relative's room is very homely and she loves the cafe and the well kept garden. The staff are very kind, positive and encouraging and my relative says she feels safe and really well looked after.
I really can't put into words the level of excellence my mum received at Invicta. From first contact at the moment we needed to seek help for her, all the team were exceptional. Caring, friendly, supportive, simply a lovely group of skilled and sensitive people giving their absolute best to care for and honour the needs of people in their older years. All through mum's time at Invicta, the standard remained the same. One of the things a family needs most at such an emotional time is to be able to trust and rely on good people who really care, and Invicta met every single need - both mum's and family's - with support and sensitivity. Thank you to everyone, we're so glad we made the decision to come to you.
My Step-Father went into Invicta Court in January 2025 and things could not have gone better. As a family we were very anxious and concerned regarding my step father settling in, but all worries were eliminated from day one. Not only is the home so new, clean and modern but the staff are second to none. They all work as a unit and familiarise themselves with residents immediately. It is so refreshing when we visit to see staff members acknowledging residents by name and actually caring. The home caters for residents as though they are 'home from home' and the variety of activities on offer every day is fantastic. As soon as you enter the home you feel the light, happy atmosphere and how alive and buzzy the place is, there isn't anything dull, dirty or depressive that you so often find in care homes to alarm you. We have nothing but praise for this fantastic home!
Since arrival to Invicta Court, Mum has been made to feel welcome and part of the Invicta Court 'family'. She has been beautifully cared for and shown dignity and respect. Staff are professional, polite and cheery. Mums individual needs have been met with care and compassion. This has been a difficult time for Mum, settling into her new surroundings and challenging due to her dementia and initial reluctance to leaving her own home. As a family, it has been an anxious time, but we feel that we have been listened to. We feel able to communicate our concerns and worries openly. The lifestyle team make an effort to encourage and include mum with the activities on offer- unfortunately she is not always receptive to joining in. However, if coaxed and persuaded, mum has enjoyed the activities she has attended so I do feel it is in her best interests to keep trying to encourage her to join in. Invicta Court is a lovely environment within which to visit mum- calm, happy and welcoming.
We are so delighted with the care our mother has received at Invicta Court, from the carers to the lifestyle team, who provide events all day every day to suit all needs, the nurses, the wider support team, management, reception and admin, the chef also does a wonderful job. The rooms and facilities are first class and I feel like I'm visiting her at home. The gardens are delightful, a lovely place to relax and spend quality time during the summer months. We especially enjoy spending time together at the Bistro, to catch up and have a coffee or a cup of tea and cake. My mother's quality of life has improved 100% since arriving last summer.
My mother came to Invicta Court in August 2024. She was reluctant at first but all the staff were so welcoming it wasn't long before she settled in. The rooms are light and airy, spacious and kept spotlessly clean. The lifestyle team put on a wide range of activities for those who are interested to join in. The meals are fantastic and served in the dining rooms or in mums room depending on her mood. The gardens are beautifully maintained with plenty of seating for those warmer days. All the staff at Invicta Court are warm and friendly and clearly care so much about the residents, from the kitchen staff, admin staff, maintenance team to all the carers, nurses and lifestyle team. The leadership team are extremely efficient, professional and warm. I have no hesitation in recommending Invicta Court and know mum is receiving the best care.
Overall I am very pleased with the home. All staff are very friendly and most know our names. They provide a good menu and activity schedule. The home is spotlessly clean and the laundry service incredible. The head nurses really know their residents, they never need to refer to notes etc for their care or medication if asked. My only concern is that maybe a little bit more one to one in depth chat would be good for the mental wellbeing.
Mum moved into Invicta last January after living in her own home for in excess of 60 years. She settled very quickly, probably in part to all the extremely caring staff, from the Home Manager to the cleaning and maintenance staff. Activities are arranged each day and outings feature in the home's timetable in their own minibus 2 or 3 times a week. Relatives are warmly welcomed and encouraged to join in activities with the residents. Activities are based around special days. Such as Valentine's Day, Saint's Days, VE Day etc. Relatives can book private rooms to eat with the residents too. The premises are superb and reflect the local area in the names of the three suites. For example William Hazlett Suite, plus the Cobtree Cafe and Fremlin Bar. Films are shown each week in the Fremlin Bar. The garden is well tendered and residents are able to help with gardening and planting out. The Cafe is warm and friendly and stock with various drinks and nibbles for everyone to enjoy.
My mum was facing her final days and was accepted at Invicta Court for just this. Everyone, and we mean everyone who worked there, greeted us with open arms and loving hearts. They made this daunting, heart wrenching time bearable and showed care and compassion that goes above and beyond. When we arrived mum thought she was in heaven. She was at peace and safe. Thank you to each of you for sharing this journey with our family!
Our dad has been a resident since July 2023 and he is thriving in the happy, warm and loving atmosphere throughout the home. He feels safe and at home in his warm and comfortable room and enjoys overlooking the garden. Dad likes everything to be clean and tidy and often comments how beautifully maintained his surroundings are, including the garden where he really enjoys being. He is very sociable and responds well to sharing friendly exchanges with all the staff. There are several different activities offered everyday by the fantastic Lifestyle team as well as the care staff, both in groups or one-to-ones and dad takes part in many of them. We all enjoy taking him to the cafe. All the staff are really lovely and absolutely go above and beyond in everything they do. They put so much effort into everything with brilliant results. The food is excellent. The care staff have got to know dad as an individual and have picked up health problems early too. We couldn't ask for more for him.
An amazing place, staff have a very hard job with my resident with their expectations beyond that possible to anyone. Brain injury has impacted their personality hugely compared to pre injury. The social calendar is extensive and of very high standard. Care of visitors e.g. refreshments very much appreciated. Staff whatever their seniority are respectful to me and my resident.
Moving mum from her home of more than 60 years to a care home was truly the most difficult decision of my life, but I was lucky, I found the right home, a modern, spacious, clean and well maintained home, but more importantly I found the right people: Experienced, dedicated, compassionate, sincere, supportive, understanding and friendly. Without exception every single member of staff is fully focused on ensuring that mum is safe, well cared for and engaged in continuing doing those things that she has so loved doing. I take comfort in knowing that mum is in good hands.
Very good vibes, friendly, calm, welcoming and warm. My husband was treated as if he mattered and everyone was so kind and professional. Both I and our daughter felt very welcome at any time and never felt 'in the way'. All the staff we encountered seemed very happy in their workplace. My husband, our daughter and I wouldn't hesitate in choosing Invicta Court at any time it became necessary. Thank you all so much.
My mother has been part of the Invicta Court family for the last four years. This is truly an exceptional care home, it is beautifully furnished with a friendly warm, caring atmosphere. The facilities are clean, homely, really well managed and maintained but the most outstanding feature is the caring, loving, helpful staff who go the extra mile every single day. They help the residents access a safe, fulfilling life with outings, events and sympathetic healthcare to serve individual needs. Relatives and visitors are made both welcome and comfortable.
