View Full Details of Signature at CavershamI found the home to be very clean and tidy, well presented and the staff were all very friendly and polite. Good facilities, cafe, lounge, area etc and a very nice garden with garden games and plenty to do.
My mum moved to signature to the dementia community and since joining I have felt reassured that all of her health and care needs are being met. The care team really support her on her dementia journey. The accomodation and her private room are presented lovely and always maintained to exceptional standards. The food available covers a large variety and caters to all her needs. She is eating well and happy with portion sizes and menu. I appreciate the dementia resident forum where I can represent my mum and particularly enjoyed the most recent forum where I was able to attend a dementia immersion session.
The staff are absolutely lovely, there is always a wide range of activities on offer, the nursing care is astute and impeccable, and every aspect of caring for residents is tailored to individual needs, character traits and preferences, as such everyone's ideal lifestyle is supported, whether it includes going on the bus excursions, helping prep veg for the delicious menus on offer, gardening, or relaxing with a glass of wine or beer in the bar! Relatives are always warmly welcomed and the whole family unit is lovingly supported. The impression is more of a cruise ship environment than a care home. I have never been a fan of placing relatives in care homes at all, but now if it came to it one day I might not mind being placed there myself LOL!
Staff wonderful but sparse in various functions - restaurant, cleaning. Food was often poor Welsh rarebit was one slice on under-toasted white bread with a slice of processed cheese topping a slice of processed ham- the vegetarian option was as above but no ham! The chicken breast had bone in and skin on impossible for those whose hands didn't work. I complained and asked to see the chef twice, but he failed to appear. They obviously cook chilled food was adequate barely.
Signature care home is beautiful. It feels like a 5 star hotel! The staff are attentive and go above and beyond to help. The carers really care for the residents. The food is great with a wide variety of choices. They also cater for people that are on puréed food or have many allergies. Overall the home has a great atmosphere and the residents all engage in many different activities. The whole team; physio, activities, maintenance, nurses, care staff, reception, chefs, the general manager and two other staff members are all lovely, caring people who are very knowledgeable in what they do. They all work together and are an amazing team. I couldn't recommend signature enough!
After a nightmare and traumatic 4 month stay in hospital, my 96-year-old father, was discharged into the care of Signature at Caversham. He arrived in a weak and confused mental state with recovery clearly in the balance. The nursing and care staff were absolutely magnificent from day 1 in applying their medical professionalism, care application and overall monitoring efforts to his precarious health conditions. This required dedication and patience over a 6 month period which saw him gradually restored to a functioning, content and happy individual, showing his natural sense of humour, interest in the world around him and independence of thought. An absolute amazing achievement which impressed everyone who observed this journey - I have no doubt this would not have been possible without the dedication of the wonderful team at Signature at Caversham
SATURDAY FIESTA - June 21st 2025. I am writing on behalf of my family to congratulate everyone involved in such a great event last Saturday afternoon, and to thank all the staff for all the hard work that went into making it such a success, despite difficult weather conditions. We all really enjoyed it. It was a perfect show case for the amazing happy family atmosphere that you manage to create at Willow View.
I moved into the Caversham Signature nursing home for respite care after a hip operation. Coming here I felt very preveliged to be here with such lovely facilities in the home itself and also the generous pretty garden. As for the staff here at Signature I cannot praise them enough. They all seem so passionate about their job with nothing bein no trouble when asking for help day and night which to me is so important as you can be so vulnerable after an operation.
Pleasant experience! Happy that my wife is at this care home. For example, carers get to know her needs, preferences, likes and dislike nd this helps them to care for her with high personal quality.
Signature Care Home in Caversham, Reading is an excellent facility with kind, friendly staff who provide a great environment for recovery or ongoing care. The nurses cares and other staff did a great job in providing first class service in a very difficult time.
Our second visit to see a friend has gone as well as the first. From pain to of entry, we are always greeted with a smile and assistance. It is lovely to see that staff offer such care to residents and to even notice if they need their seated position adjusting. I wish there were more homes offering such unique personalised care for their residents and visitors. The staff's smile and happy nature is pefect to engage with everyone. I did not see rooms or activities whilst there.
Brilliant place to be. Treated with respect and understood well by all staff in the home. Food amazing and can have or choose as little or as much as you want. The staff really make it. I am young in comparison, 43 years young but the staff and fellow residents are all brilliant I am planning a return and despite other places being in before I will value this time. Myself and my family know that I will be fine here.
I am so grateful for the care and support my grandmother receives at Signature Caversham. From the very first visit, we knew it was the right place for her. The staff are professional, incredibly kind and compassionate and always making her feel at home. Thank you for taking care of my grandma.
I can't speak highly enough about Signature Caversham. From the moment my husband, who is living with dementia, moved in, I felt a weight lifted off my shoulders knowing he was in such capable and compassionate hands. The staff are truly wonderful, patient, understanding, and so attentive to his needs. They take the time to get to know him, engage him in activities he enjoys and creating a routine that makes him feel comfortable and secure. The facility is always clean, welcoming, and feels like a real home. The team keeps me informed about his wellbeing, whether it's a quick call or an update during my visits, I always feel included in his care. It's clear they understand the challenges of dementia, not just for the residents but for their families too. The activities available are fantastic, he enjoys the music therapy sessions and time in the garden. Seeing him smile and hearing him laugh again has been such a gift. The staff's dedication and genuine care shine through every day.
Mum came to Signature for respite care initially. The quality of care and stimulation of activities have proved to us that this really is the best place for Mum to be. We are always made very welcome no matter when we visit. Mum is thriving with the attentive care being given, the food and having fun with trips out and visitors to the home. As her daughter, I no longer need to worry about her - my visits are always a pleasure.
Staff are friendly, caring, approachable and take time to get to know the resident and their families. Personally Signature at Caversham take responsibility for organising medication and spot if a resident becomes unwell making sure they get medical attention straightaway. The food and accommodation is outstanding, entertainment to in rich all different personalities. The home has a family feel and a warmth to help ease transition between home life and care home.
Signature is such a lovely and friendly home. From the moment you walk in the door, you are made to feel welcome. The live entertainment is great, and the staff encourages my mum who loves to sing and dance to join in which doesn't take much persuasion. The care she has received has been outstanding. Thank you.
5 weeks respite after a complex hip operation. Chosen as close to home, friends and daily physiotherapy. The staff was extremely caring and friendly. Could not be faulted. Facilities are extremely good except for the main floor public toilets, not suitable for my condition of limited weight bearing. But the food and menu let everything down. Food ranges from good to very poor. Dishes are sometimes not as listed (Creme Brulee without crunchy top) and sometimes flavourless (e.g. lemon). Menus dull, vegetarian and meat pies and stirfried vegetables with or without meat.
Very friendly and professional staff, especially management and nurse supervisor. Nurses and carers are super friendly. Managers and nurse supervisors dealt with difficult situations efficiently, fairly, firmly, professionally and with care. Quality, decor and layout of the building are smart and modern. The food was not very varied and could have had more choice and variety on any given day. 45 minutes average waiting time from pressing the call button to getting assistance for going to the toilet or getting a wheelchair to a meal or back to the room is way too long.
In late June my mother had a fall one night and banged her head. The Signature nurse on duty was quick to phone me and advise what had happened and that an ambulance had been called. They again phoned to confirm that she had been taken to hospital. Fortunately, after a few nights in hospital, she was well enough to return. We are so grateful that the staff took such good care of my mother, that night, as well as every day. My wife and I are able to sleep at night knowing she is in good hands and is being well looked after.
