We recently searched for respite care for my mother-in-law after she had a nasty fall, while also giving my father-in-law a chance to get some much-needed rest. From the moment we visited Manor Lodge, we were struck by the warm welcome and the genuine "home from home" atmosphere. One staff member in particular was incredibly friendly, taking the time to explain everything in detail, and her responsiveness was greatly appreciated and she put our minds at ease. The whole team showed such kindness and consideration - respecting my mother-in-law's need for space, while gently encouraging her to join in activities to help keep her mobile. The food was excellent - tasty, well presented, and always varied. We were especially impressed by how thoughtful the staff were in accommodating her individual eating needs. The overall standard of care was outstanding. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and we felt reassured knowing she was in such capable and compassionate hands.
My mum has been a resident at Manor lodge for a month now and has settled in very well . All the staff there are very attentive to all her needs and are very quick to resolve any issues that arise . We had no hesitation in placing mum here as my dad was here 9 years ago in the nursing area . He recieved excellent care and was treated with the utmost dignity and respect . There are still quite a few of the same staff working here ,so that shows what a lovely place it is to work . Mums room is bright and spacious with her own en-suite facilities. It is kept clean at all times . All laundry is turned around quickly and the food is of a very high standard . Mum enjoys the various daily activities from the pub quiz to armchair yoga and bingo . The garden and courtyard are lovely for daily exercise and fresh air with plenty of seating for visitors . I would 100% recommend Manor lodge to anyone looking for a Carehome for their loved one .
My sister in law Beryl Graves has had restbite care for two weeks in July due to her supporting family going away for a family wedding in wales she was very happy while they're enjoying the company. The care she received was good although she was got up a few times before 6am which I thought was too early food excellent with a good choice
My Mum received excellent care at Manor Lodge. From her original time in the residential community and then, as her illness progressed to the nursing unit. The carers were attentive and responsive. Mum was treated with dignity and respect. The nurses in the unit were compassionate, patient and professional and always happy to answer my many questions. Mum's end of life care was exceptional. Both she, and us as a family, were so well looked after. Nothing was too much trouble. The home itself is clean and modern. There is always plenty going on, music, crafts, games and outings. The food is excellent. There are regular meetings for family members where the management team actively encourage feedback and it is acted upon. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Manor Lodge and its wonderful team.
I looked round Manor Lodge care home as I needed a weeks respite care after having a hip replacement and I was not disappointed. The management are friendly and enthusiastic, which instills confidence and they "deliver the goods", as it were. The care and support I received was absolutely amazing. The care assistants are fun, caring, patient, so easy to talk to, nothing is too much trouble and they helped me as much or as little as I needed. The food is wonderful, delicious and portions were tailored to my needs, especially as I went "off piste" with the menu, the chef and assistants were extremely accommodating. My bedroom was large as was my en-suite, so I didn't feel "hemmed in" at all, as I do tend to spread my stuff around. Everywhere was really clean and well tended, the garden areas are lovely, with several different areas and there is a couple of coffee machines, which is useful. There's plenty of space to walk around inside and out and I felt safe everywhere.
After completing a lot of research I decided to book my father into Manor Lodge for a respite period. My father is 93 years old and has dementia. He still retains a great sense of humour and passion for life but can get confused. The break gave my partner and I an opportunity for some rest and a break from the care we provide every day. I thought it might be a difficult period for my father but he returned home with a big smile on his face and said how much he had enjoyed his stay in 'the hotel'. I would like to thank all the staff at Manor Lodge for their good work and for making Dad's stay an enjoyable one. It has been a blessing for all of us and it was money well spent. The facilities were extremely clean and whenever I visited the clients were obviously enjoying their experience. There was laughter and singing and good food. I am sure my Dad will be happy to return in the future and I can rest assured that he will be cared for and supported well. Thank you for all you do.
We cannot thank Manor Lodge staff enough for everything they did to care for our gran, Iris, who came into their care in April 2020. Everyone without exception has been so kind and considerate. During her time at Manor Lodge staff really looked after gran, and us as her immediate family. She received the very highest standard of care and was very happy here. It was a very challenging period at the start of covid when gran took up residence here but staff made the transition work smoothly and went the extra mile to make gran feel at home and safe. We have such happy memories of many visits and time spent with gran. In fact, the staff became part of her family. Their care and love for her was genuine and heartfelt and she was treated with dignity and respect. This continued when gran sadly became ill and passed away. She was given a guard of honour by staff on duty who paid their respects, which was very touching. We feel so lucky she was a resident here for so long. Thank you!
Always when I arrive to visit my friend I get greeted with a nice smile and hello. Staff treat the residents with the greatest of care and respect nothing is too much trouble such a pleasant atmosphere making their stay at Manor Lodge the best is can be.
I had no hesitation in placing my mother into care at Manor Lodge as my father received exceptional care there. The professionalism of all the senior staff in all departments gives me the reassurance that my mother is in good hands. I like the fact that i am involved with her monthly care review this gives me peace of mind and i can discuss any concerns. All the staff are helpful polite and understanding with a willingness to please. Mother is encouraged to join in with the activities and it is lovely to see her smiling and singing once again. She loves having her hair done and says the food is good and the chef comes up with new ideas to encourage her to eat. Placing my mother in care was very concerning for me but i can honestly say for nearly a year now Manor Lodge have taken exceptional good care of her and mother is very settled. The management listen and quick to resolve any concerns. Heartfelt thanks to all the staff.
Our whole experience with Manor Lodge has been extremely reassuring. After a couple of visits we were planning to move Mum in this Summer. However circumstances changed & we needed a room earlier. A room became available & the transition went very smoothly. Obviously it is an anxious time for all, but we were all treated with empathy & understanding. The staff are very friendly, caring & encouraging. Members of our family visit regularly & are always welcome. It has meant a lot to our family to know that Mum is in a safe & friendly environment where she feels comfortable. Having that reassurance is paramount.
My mum has been at Manor Lodge for 3 weeks now and already I notice a huge difference in her well being. She has more energy and absolutely loves the food! The staff are fantastic and are always on hand if mum needs anything, although she is fiercely independent she is giving into the assistance which is fabulous. I thought it would take a lot longer for mum to settle in but I think she is actually enjoying the attention she receives which is great to see.
We had noticed that my Mother was declining and she needed more help than I and my sister could provide. We booked a visit to Manor Lodge, met the Manager there and we assured by what we saw and heard that this was the right place for my Mother. From the start she received the care and attention that she needed and loves it there. The staff are all very helpful and my Mum really appreciates this and has built up relationships quickly. She seems to have a "new lease of life" there. We are very thankful for all that has been done for her.
My mum was admitted to hospital on Xmas Day. It was quickly apparent that, when discharged, she would need residential care and to satisfy a fiercely independent 94 year old, and her family, this needed to be special. Manor Lodge was first on my list and also became the last. From the initial meet and greet and the walk through of the facilities and accommodation, the professionalism and dedication of the staff was apparent. Unfortunately my mum's health deteriorated and the requirement changed from nursing to palliative care. Mum was in hospital for 7 weeks, throughout this time the management team were in regular contact with advice, guidance and support to help me through the vagaries of the NHS ICB and discharge bureaucracy. Mum did transfer, but for the shortest of times. In her final hours Mum, and my family, were granted respect and dignity from the nursing team that I am so grateful for. My heartfelt thanks to the Manor Lodge family for their kindness at a difficult time.
All the staff we have met so far are so supportive, caring, pleasant and helpful and can't do enough for my mum. I am secure in the knowledge that mum is in the best hands and is being cared for as she would have wished.
My father and I were very worried about putting my Aunt into a care home but once we had viewed Manor Lodge we felt confident that she would be happy there and cared for. All initial meetings with the Manager were friendly and any questions we had were answered and we went away feeling less anxious about the situation. Moving my aunt in went very smoothly and she was made to feel very welcome. She has appeared much happier since living there which has given us much needed peace of mind. Manor Lodge has plenty of activities for the residents with no obligation to join in. We would definitely recommend this care home.
Staff were brill. Very attentive and experienced. Food delicious and great choices. Safe and welcoming space for my mother. YouTubing the big lounge TV for elvis and manilow is a regular occurrence. Had two weeks respite there and visited mum regularly, she conversed and engaged more than for a long long time. Quite amazing really
My mother has been a resident of Manor Lodge for a year now and ever since the beginning we have been pleasantly surprised with the care that she has received both for her physical health as well as her mental health which is such a relief for the whole family because you hear of some horror stories elsewhere. They ensure activities are available for all levels of ability and involvement of the family is always considered. We sleep well knowing that they are doing their best for her.
My mother moved into Manor Lodge just 4 weeks ago and already we have noticed a significant improvement in both her physical and mental health. She is happier, less anxious and is enjoying eating again. She has settled in remarkably well, and has made friends with both other residents and staff. The staff are exceptional in the way they interact with my mother and other residents- they are so kind, respectful and responsive. Nothing is too much trouble. As relatives, we have also been looked after well and made to feel welcome. It is not an easy time when a loved one needs residential care, but the staff at Manor Lodge have been so helpful and supportive and have made it so much easier. I can now enjoy quality time with my mother again, knowing that she is safe, happy and well looked after.
This is an excellent home in all respects. There is generally enough staff available to meet all the resident's care needs, including medical staff, 24 hours a day. All rooms are en suite and maintained to a high standard. Family members are well supported and can visit at any time, staying overnight if they wish. I do not have much experience of other care homes, apart from visiting more distant relatives, but have not yet seen a better one. Manor Lodge benefits from being in a modern bespoke building and the staff respond accordingly.
It's the people that make all the difference and one of the staff has been a true lifesaver. From the moment that we came to see the home, through to settling in and getting used to her surroundings. This staff member is ready to listen, deals with anything that has been brought to her attention and remains kind and loving throughout. Thank you for your support, cheer, help and positivity. You make a hard experience lovely.
