View Full Details of Isle Court Nursing HomeI looked after my mum for 10 years until her dementia made it unsafe to be at home. I dreaded mum going into a home, but I couldn't have wished for a more caring and lovely place. She has settled well and is looked after so well by everyone.
We were extremely upset with the lack of care at Isle Court . My 95 yr old father in law was admitted on August 8th 2025 and died on 14th September of Bladder cancer . On 26th of August I visited at 5.30pm as his granddaughter who had earlier informed us he was crying in pain . On arrival some of the staff, who had been severing supper to the residents , were eating food from the trolley. My father in law had not been given any food . When asked for his meal they did bring him a small tea plate of food which he devoured hungrily. A nurse came into the room and he had been crying in pain . She informed me he had been given 30mg of codeine in the morning for pain. I told the nurse that this in my opinion is not suitable pain relief for aggressive cancer . She also informed me he had not had lunch as he was asleep and didn't know if he had breakfast. No food that day if I had not visited . Its heartbreaking !! There lots of other issues eg drink not at hand and no duvet.
Couldn't recommend this nursing home enough nothing is to much trouble very clean modern. Care is to a very high standard. Felt at ease that my mum was being well cared for and knew she was safe and would not come to any harm. Always involved in in activities which she found fun and joing in as a group
1) First class reception staff - outstanding. Discreet. Helpful + understanding. 2) Care staff also - very good, kind, helpful, guide to understand needs. 3) Food and drink: High standard. Civilised. But 'single type' of user makes mealtimes together depressing. Cecily allowed dogs and had a nursery onsite and allowed mingling of beginning and end of life experience. Kitchen kept forgetting non-meat eater.
Everything here is excellent, the staff go above and beyond to make sure all residents are safe and well looked after,we couldn't ask for more,it's like a five star hotel, rather than a nursing home.what a fab team you all are,a credit to the company, keep up the great work.
An amazing place to take your family/ loved ones requiring long term or respite care needs. A very clean environment that prioritises the physical, emotional, and social needs of the residents and does well to support staff. Would highly recommend
Mom came into Isle Court from hospital she instantly went from being a patient to a very happy guest. The staff were fantastic, caring and supportive. Mom was so happy and looked after and I will always be so grateful to Isle Court, the team and the management. Our visits were a pleasure and it was so wonderful to see Mom happy and content. Highly recommended
Excellent care from the nursing, support and management teams. I was so impressed with the care given, the food, activities and standard of the room. The Isle Court team made a difficult time more bearable. Thank you.
My mother has been at Isle Court for over a month. We couldn't have hoped for a better transition. Everyone has been amazing. Very helpful, welcoming and kind and caring. We are very happy that Mum has settled in so well. She loves going in with the varied activities. Reception always gives us a friendly warm welcome. Mum enjoys all the food. The kitchen even made her a birthday cake. Thank you to everyone.
The Isle Nursing home have been wonderful with my mum. She has been very happy since arriving. The staff are lovely and friendly nothing is too much trouble.
Couldn't ask for more care and attention if she were in a 5* hotel. No faults whatsoever. My wife was very happy here and as a family couldn't wish for anything more.
I know we all get the same image when we hear the word care home. Nothing could be further from the truth when you walk into Isle Lane for the first time. My very first thought was wow it's like walking into an hotel not what I was expecting at all after a previous experience. From the girls on reception to the staff cleaning the corridors and rooms, everyone has a warm welcome and just make you feel comfortable with the surroundings. The care team do a fantastic job nothing is too much, you ask and they will do their very best to sort as soon as possible. The management team seem to have an open door policy which works as you are only there for a short period of time while visiting. Well done everyone at Isle Court you made my dads last few weeks very happy for him.
Excellent care/nursing home. Residents treated with respect and dignity with a wide range of activities. Rooms, whilst clean and tidy are showing signs of age with regards to furniture.
Isle Court is a superb care home. Extremely professional and caring both to their clientele and visitors. My mother receives top quality care and I know she is safe. The staff are a credit to their profession.
Isle Court in Shrewsbury provides exceptional care in a warm and welcoming environment. My mum is very well cared for, and even though she prefers her own company, the staff gently encourage her to participate in activities, fostering a sense of inclusion. The food is excellent, and I've been consistently impressed with the high standards of personal hygiene assistance my mum receives. The home and its facilities are impeccably clean. The staff are incredibly friendly, always greeting me and my family with a smile and making us feel welcome. Their dedication and genuine care are evident in everything they do. Isle Court is a place where residents are treated with dignity and respect, and I'm truly grateful for the peace of mind they provide.
Over the last few months my mum and our families lives have been turn upside down due to her illness, making the decision to place my mum in to a nursing home was the hardest decision we have ever had to make!! my mum was a fit active independent lady who lost her health and mobility in a short space of time. From the minute mum arrived at Isle court until her final minutes and after she was treated with love, empathy and dignity and with the highest level of care. All the staff we met on my mums journey were exceptional from the manager to reception to health care, to nurses to cleaners and the kitchen / stewards they were all amazing the love and care they provide to us as a family was truly outstanding I can not express how grateful we are to you all. You have made the hardest times of our lives bearable with the kindness love and support you have all shown to us we will always be forever thankful to you. You truly are amazing! Thank you
As a family we never wanted mum or dad to live in a care home, unfortunately we exhausted all options to keep mum safe at home due to her living with Dementia. But now as a family we are all completely thrilled with mum's progress since moving into Isle court. She had spent many weeks in & out of hospital & we didn't hold out much hope going forward. Now she is a different woman, she has picked up so well, vibrant & full of life again. She tells us all how she loves her new home, she feels so comfortable in her own room with everything she needs on hand. The staff are excellent & so respectful towards her. As a family we have no worries knowing she is being cared for 24/7 . Nothing is too much trouble, she is very well cared for & we always feel so welcome by all the staff, whatever their role within the home. This is a very well led home with such dedicated people, beautiful home inside & out. The future is now much brighter.
Despite being hours from dying, anticipatory medicines were not administered to my mother despite being asked for by myself. Instead, the nurse stated that she was looking up protocol and did so for more than an hour. My Mum had lapsed into unconsciousness by the time she did come to check on her. The same nurse did not telephone a different family member, when the call to mine informing me of a deterioration was missed. (It was usual for the other family member to receive a call.) The staff range from being excellent to being indifferent, some even rude. There is a language barrier issue with many staff. Staffing is also inconsistent leading to confusion or lack of knowledge regarding appropriate care. For example, one staff member asked if I would encourage my mother to eat. I had to explain to her that she did not want food as she was dying. She seemed to be unaware of her status. Short staffing is evident.
We never ever thought my mum would have to become a resident of a nursing home. Working full time and very active lady my mum has had excellent care from the moment she arrived here. She has been treated with respect and dignity which has helped us as a family on this journey. The management and staff are exceptional.
Excellent care home, lovely rooms the staff were excellent from the reception staff, nursing, caring, cleaners and kitchen staff all very nice and caring. Please pass on to staff what a great job they do. Thanks.
