Isle Court is based in a former country house in one of Shrewsbury’s most sought-after postcodes. Thanks to its idyllic rural location it encompasses stunning views that can be enjoyed from all aspects of the home. The additional wing has now transformed the building into an 81 bedroom care home. The gardens are beautifully established and appealing any season of the year.

The home provides residential, dementia, nursing and respite care alongside the recent addition of day care services. The team of care staff are experienced and compassionate, working alongside all departments within the home to provide a warm, welcoming and friendly environment. The staff undertake regular training, also take part in training programmes provided by local healthcare professionals including mental health teams and the local hospice.

The emotional and social wellbeing of residents is at the top of the homes agenda. Outdoor activities include residents swinging a club in the gardens golf area, investigating whose visiting the bug hotels, bird watching from the hide, being part of the walking club or simply enjoying the views. Indoor activities are many and varied creating smiles and companionship ensuring everyone feels part of the family at Isle Court. The home hosts a number of outside entertainers, local schools and charities, bringing the local community into the home.

Nutritious, high-quality food is an essential part of life, and the home’s dining rooms offer an elegant setting where residents can enjoy fresh, home-cooked meals. My experience with Isle Court Nursing Home has been amazing! My mother is looked after exceptionally well and everybody that works there, works to a high standard and makes mum happy. After 7 years of looked after mum with the help of carers at her home I feel that I have been given my life back. I
can sleep at night without worrying about mum. I can look at my phone without feeling frightened that mum has had an accident or is poorly. A "Thank You" isn't enough. You are all amazing!

Lovely friendly care home, amazing staff. Residents are at the heart of everything that happens. Rooms are clean and well-kept. My father is supported according to his needs. He is given freedom and options relating to all elements of his daily living. Food is of excellent quality and there is plenty
of choice. There is a good selection of activities for residents to take part in, and a timetable is available for families so they can support residents at activities. Afternoon tea each Wednesday is fabulous and residents can attend tea each Wednesday and residents can attend alone or with family. Those who attend along are really well looked after.

Isle Court is fabulous. The staff are friendly and polite. All staff show responsibility and accountability for their job roles and support families so they don't need to worry about their residents/family members care. Residents feel this is their home and each person is respected for their differences.
Isle Court is clean tidy and welcoming. Food is of a high standard and families are welcomed to join. The staff listen to family request and residents preferences and do all they can to meet them. Activities here are great. Isle Court takes great pride in providing the best care and it shows in the residents happiness.

Visited the care home with other family members to have afternoon tea with my brother. We enjoyed this very much, he also seemed happy and contented and pleased to see us all. All the staff members that we met were welcoming and friendly and included my brother in their conversations.

I looked after my mum for 10 years until her dementia made it unsafe to be at home. I dreaded mum going into a home, but I couldn't have wished for a more caring and lovely place. She has settled well and is looked after so well by everyone.

We were extremely upset with the lack of care at Isle Court .
My 95 yr old father in law was admitted on August 8th 2025 and died on 14th September of Bladder cancer .
On 26th of August I visited at 5.30pm as his granddaughter who had earlier informed us he was crying in pain .
On arrival some
of the staff, who had been severing supper to the residents , were eating food from the trolley.
My father in law had not been given any food . When asked for his meal they did bring him a small tea plate of food which he devoured hungrily. A nurse came into the room and he had been crying in pain . She informed me he had been given 30mg of codeine in the morning for pain. I told the nurse that this in my opinion is not suitable pain relief for aggressive cancer .
She also informed me he had not had lunch as he was asleep and didn't know if he had breakfast. No food that day if I had not visited . Its heartbreaking !!
There lots of other issues eg drink not at hand and no duvet.

1) First class reception staff - outstanding. Discreet. Helpful + understanding.
2) Care staff also - very good, kind, helpful, guide to understand needs.
3) Food and drink: High standard. Civilised. But 'single type' of user makes mealtimes together depressing. Cecily allowed dogs and had a nursery
onsite and allowed mingling of beginning and end of life experience. Kitchen kept forgetting non-meat eater.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.779)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.779) out of 10 for Isle Court Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 57 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 54 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.779 for Isle Court Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (614 Excellents x 5) + (27 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (7 Poors x 2) + (21 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 678 Ratings = 4.779
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Isle Court Nursing Home is based on 54 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 82 registered maximum number of service users is 16.4, which has been reached with 54 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
