My mother was at Isle Court in a nursing wing for three weeks of emergency respite. Mum was very well cared for and showed respect, kindness and compassion throughout her stay. Mum enjoyed living at the nursing home temporarily. She was welcome to join in daily activities should she wish. There was plenty of activity going on.

Reply from Janet Pannell, Interim Head of Operations at Isle Court Nursing Home

Thank you for the review of your mother's respite care at Isle Court, I was pleased to hear that your mum enjoyed her stay and was provided with the care and interventions she needed during that time. I will of course pass on your comments to the team.

My mother arrived at Isle Court Nursing Home in March of this year. She was made very welcome and every effort to help her settle in was made. She had a beautiful room with lovely views of the grounds and a door to her own patio area. There was plenty to keep her occupied and the staff were lovely. Her room and the home in general were kept immaculately clean. At the beginning of October, she became very ill and the nursing care given during her last weeks until she sadly passed away was wonderful. All staff were so kind.

My father-in-law initially came to Isle Court for respite care but became quite ill and needed full-time care. The staff were very kind and caring and made his last weeks as comfortable as he could be. We will always be extremely grateful for their professionalism and support during the difficult period prior to his passing. We would have no hesitation in recommending Isle Court to other future residents and want to thank all the nursing staff for their kindness shown to us as a family and my father-in-law.

Mum was very happy during her respite week. She has said all the staff were so thoughtful and caring, always answering calls promptly. They took care to sit Mum with a lovely group of people she got on well with. Mum attended the choir rehearsal and enjoyed it. Her room has everything she needed. The food choices were varied, and all were cooked well and tasted delicious. Mum was pleased to see the chiropodist but said that the hairdresser was on leave. She fully intends to return in the not-too-distant future.

My husband and I were admitted together for 2 weeks respite care. We found the stay quite a trial but it did do us good.

The staff were very caring and responded to our needs and difficulties rapidly and professionally. I found it strange that there was no dishwasher in the dining area and that the washing up was done by hand.

Reply from Janet Pannell, Interim Head of Operations at Isle Court Nursing Home

Thank you for your review but sorry to hear the stay was a trial but did you good. The reason we have no dishwasher in the dining room is due to this also being a lounge area and we endeavour to keep this area free from unnecessary environmental noise. All crockery is taken to our main kitchen...

I needed to move both of my parents from a care home where they were both unhappy, an acquaintance recommended Isle Court Nursing Home. I made my initial enquiry thinking that the process would take a couple of weeks, but no, the manager and staff completed their initial assessment of my parents needs the following day and they were moved later that day. When I visited my parents I could see immediately that they were happy and absolutely loved their new home. Each and every member of staff from the manager down are fantastic, using first names, making you feel welcome and spending quality time. I have researched many homes over the past 6 months but must say I have found the best by far and leave after visiting feeling safe in the knowledge that they are safe, well looked after and not forgotten. Keep up the excellent work. A big thank you.

We flew to Las Vegas to get married and I contacted the home manager to ask if when we get home if we could pay to have an afternoon tea and me and my husband could turn up in our wedding outfits so mom could see us all dressed up. She assured me that they would handle it and it would be a pleasure to share our day.

We arrived at the home, we saw a white marquee in the garden and there was my mother all dressed beautifully and with a beautiful wedding hat on. I got out of the car and had such an amazing surprise. The marquee had tables all adored with china plates and cups with rose-shaped napkins. There was a head table that had been so beautifully decorated. They had arranged a wedding cake, and sandwiches, etc and I can’t tell you how magical and special the day was, sharing with mom and residents. We had music and a photographer to capture our day. There aren’t enough words to express how much this has meant to us all and for mom to be a part of our special day has been magical.

We cannot thank the staff at Isle Court enough for the care given to our mom on her last journey. Mom was admitted to Isle Court for ‘end of life care’ and passed away peacefully nine days later.
From admission, the care and support for Mom and our family were top class.
There was regular input from local GPs, along with every member of staff from the manager, receptionist, nursing/care staff, kitchen staff, cleaners and maintenance/gardening team were all approachable, respectful, caring, friendly and efficient.
The staff have a good understanding of palliative care, which was delivered appropriately, ensuring Mom was pain-free, calm and comfortable at all times.

Thank you again.

We managed to care for my father at home until his final few days. We really wanted him to stay with us at home, but eventually had to accept that we and the home carers could not cope. Therefore, it was with some trepidation that we put him in a nursing home; we need not have worried. When I researched possible nursing homes, Isle Court Nursing Home stood out, being in a lovely location with modern facilities and friendly staff. The staff were so kind to my father and sensitive to our needs as a family, I cannot recommend them more highly. Dads passing was pain free and dignified and we were able to be with him as he went. Thank you to all at Isle Court, you made a difficult time easier to cope with.

Mum stayed for a week as a trial to see if she would be ok. She was very scared about going but has come home with a very different attitude and opinion. She would happily stay long-term if the need arises. Everybody was caring and helpful, more like a good hotel. In fact, I would happily go there myself! Mum is 93, and her first time away from family. Brilliant.

My husband was admitted to Isle Court from hospital on 22nd January 2022. From the day he arrived until he sadly passed away on 12th March 2022 he was warmly welcomed by all the staff. They took time to find out what he enjoyed and what his hobbies were and supplied him with a DVD box set on fishing which he loved to watch. He was treated with love and respect by all the staff and formed a bond with them. We were kept informed at all times of his welfare and all our family were welcomed when we visited and always offered tea or coffee which was very welcome! I cannot praise the home highly enough from the welcome of the reception staff who are always smiling, sympathetic and helpful. All the carers and nursing staff and of course the catering and housekeeping staff who keep the home exceptionally clean and welcoming. As my husband could not be looked after at home due to his medical needs Isle Court was the next best place for him and his family. For this, we thank you all.

My Dad was moved to Isle Court from the hospital so he could spend his final days in a calmer environment. The staff were caring and kind - not only looking after Dad and ensuring he was comfortable but also taking care of me as I sat with him. The building and grounds are lovely and tranquil, and everywhere is spotlessly clean.

My mum came to isle Court after a spell in hospital and was very weak and we as a family were very sad. She perked up after just two days and was lavished with care and attention, she really began to shine, she was more mobile, ate better and smiled and I as her daughter felt she was being cared for by people who actually care.

The staff, nurses, carers, housekeepers, receptionists, stewards and kitchen staff are exceptional. A breath of fresh air.

Dad's time at Isle Court has been amazing. From the time he arrived, he was met by smiling, happy and very helpful staff. The care given was outstanding, and nothing was ever too much trouble. My mum was in Isle court for only 3 1/2 weeks. The staff (all staff) right from the start were very welcoming and friendly. Mums room was very clean and homely. We took mums belongings up and the home had a very good system of ensuring mums washing returned to her on a daily basis. Mum wasn’t a very good eater but the home made every effort to ensure mum had what she fancied at any time helping mum to eat if she need assistance. They were very good to ensure mums personal care and hygiene were met and mum had a say in her care. During the last few days, the staff not only made sure that mum had everything to keep her comfortable they also support us as a family ( and there are a lot of us) nothing was too much for them even during the long hours through the night keeping us fed and watered.

I would recommend Isle Court to anybody it is just a lovely place and all staff were just lovely.

I cannot compliment Isle Court Nursing Home enough with their care of my dying sister and myself. We wanted for nothing and it was a great relief to me that I knew she was in excellent hands.
