Eastleigh Care Homes (Raleigh Mead)

from Rachel f (Daughter of Resident) published on 21 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My dad was a resident at Raleigh Mead for a short period during which the staff worked hard to help him overcome his mental challenges to give him the confidence to participate in varied activities and the ability to communicate again. Unfortunately after a short stay in hospital, he returned to Raleigh
Mead for end of life care. Throughout this time Dad was treated with care and compassion, and our family felt welcome and cared for too. The home has a lovely calm atmosphere and his last few days were truly peaceful. Our family are truly grateful for the excellent care provided by the whole team.
Reply from Kelly Baker, Manager at Eastleigh Care Homes (Raleigh Mead)Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We are deeply touched by your kind words and are honoured to have cared for your dad during such important moments in his life. Our team will be very grateful to know that their support, compassion and dedication helped your dad regain confidence and find peace, and that your family felt welcomed and cared for throughout. Creating a calm, comforting environment for both residents and their loved ones is always our priority, especially at end of life. Please accept our heartfelt condolences, and our sincere thanks for trusting us with your dad's care.

Eastleigh Care Homes (Minehead)

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My lovely Partner, Husband and dad to our children, also a Grandad was resident in Eastleigh Nursing and Care Home Minehead from 4th January 2024 to 21st October 2025.
I visited Eastleigh on 1st January 2024 and had no hesitation in accepting the offer at the home for my loved one despite the distance
from my home in South Devon. I was delighted with the comfortable surroundings and hard working friendly staff all involved in the care of the residents.
From the first day my partner was welcomed by the Proactive Management, Nursing Staff, Healthcare Staff , not forgetting our lovely Chef and her team with all the cleaning and maintenance team who became his friends. He was so happy.
As a frequent visitor, I felt part of a family engaging with all the staff and management. Their doors were always open and I received regular updates on the health and wellbeing of my partner with dignity and compassion from all involved. I will always be grateful I chose Eastleigh and recommend to all. x

Stanshawes Care Home

My mother was needing more nursing care than we were able to give her at home. I visited several nursing homes and the minute I walked into Stanshawes I felt welcome. The atmosphere was very friendly and the staff we met understood my mums needs. Mum moved into her room within a week and we were able
to bring items from home to make it feel comforting to her. Since moving in mum is very happy, she has even started knitting again. As a family we are very pleased with the support and care given to mum and us.
I would recommend Stanshawes to anyone looking for a nursing home.

My mum has been given exemply care since she was admitted to Verulam House. The staff are always friendly and address her by name when they enter the room. Neil and his team ensured that mum had a smooth transition from the hospital to Verulum House and she has settled in well, given her condition.
Our family can be at ease, knowing the staff at Verulum House are taking good care of her.
Reply from Neil Copping, Registered Manager at Verulam House Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that your mum settled in well at Verulam House and that our team has been able to make her feel comfortable and cared for. The entire staff take great pride in providing personalised and compassionate care, and it's wonderful to know that this has given your family peace of mind. We'll be sure to pass on your message to the team-it means a lot to them.

Argentum Lodge Care Home

from B S (Son of Resident) published on 16 January 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Mum has been in Argentum Lodge since the end of March 2025 and has settled in well. Unfortunately she had suffered a tragic bereavement shortly before she moved in as well as having to move out of her previous residential home in Devon due to it being shut down. This meant she took a while to get into
the swing of life in Argentum and join in with the various activities. However, she did and soon made friends with some of the other residents and staff, thanks to the care and patience of the staff who encouraged Mum to integrate and join in.
The staff are caring, friendly and helpful, particularly the nursing staff, J and A who deserve special acknowledgement and thanks.
Meds are effectively administered and the premises always appear clean and warm.
One thing that Mum does occasionally comment on is the small size of some of the meals.
Thanks to the whole team for looking after Mum, it is much appreciated.

I visited from Scotland for a week and was really impressed. The staff are brilliant and try to ensure that every resident can get involved in the activities, which are varied and enjoyable. This was coming up to Christmas and activities were very seasonal and everyone seemed to be looking forward
to Christmas. Staff are so kind and work extremely hard to ensure everyone's needs are met and more. A huge thank you to them all.

We are extremely happy with the care that our relative receives. Our meetings with Rachel have been excellent and all the staff are great. The family's issues are with our relatives LPAs who probably make life much more difficult for our relative and the staff than it need be.

Mavern House Nursing Home

Both my parents moved to Mavern in November 2024 due to increasing frailty and were understandably nervous. My sister and I viewed a few care homes but none felt as homely and welcoming as Mavern. All the staff, regardless of their role within the home, bent over backwards to ease their transition and
they are genuinely caring and understanding. The whole team consider themselves Mavern family and are attentive and cheerful. The nursing staff and management are compassionate and have supported both of my parents through tricky situations. The enrichment staff go above and beyond to create a friendly, warm and cheerful environment in the shared lounge and the other residents respond to this by being open and friendly to everyone. There is no doubt that this is a stressful move to make but I can't recommend Mavern highly enough, they have been an absolute Godsend to our family.

My Gran has been a resident of Mavern for over 2 years now. She always tells me how well cared for she is and how much she likes the food (she put on a healthy level of weight when she arrived which was also fab). The team are super lovely and it is great all the activities they put on for the residents
and also encourge family and friends to participate too. It is so reassuring to know she is being looked after by everyone there. Thank you to all the staff.

My mother was only a resident for a short time but during her stay at Hamble Heights i was impressed by the manager and her senior team who were most helpful and approachable at all times. The activity team worked really hard to include all residents with a diverse range of things to do. The nursing
staff were excellent. Food was generally of a high standard.
I would recommend this care home to anyone looking for a pleasant, secure environment for their loved one.

For visitors to Stretton Hall it is like entering a welcoming high class hotel. There is a cheerful, happy atmosphere wherever you go. My brother is really cared for and the staff understand his foibles, managing them with good humour. Management oversees optimum standards of housekeeping and nursing
care. Thoughtful extra touches include a bowl of fresh fruit in the corridor for everyone. Photos of inhabitants enjoying activities, jog their memories to share with you. Staff although busy talk to you and your relative. I'm very appreciative of the care given to my brother who is not only looked after physically but is able to live not just exist. Thank you.
