The standard of care provided by the staff is very good and the nursing care is excellent.
My only criticism is that the room is in poor condition and requires attention. Some of the furniture is broken and the desk has seen better days.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
My aunt arrived initially needing respite for 2 months in September 2024. But her needs were that she needed long term care so she became a permanent resident and the care home management helped her and the family to get her settled which was very helpful and reassuring at such a difficult time her
needs were met adequately and we were very happy with the staff who kept us informed of any issues that arose. We couldn't of asked for any more care and consideration they gave my aunt and us as a family right to her final ending in September 2025.

Ashbourne Court is a very caring nursing home y late father was here nearly 3 years ago, so having seen and had knowledge of the home, that is why when my dear friend need help, I put Ashbourne Court forward to the family. Management is very good, any problems you may have they will listen, take on
board and sort it out. We all know that be it family member or friend nobody want to go into a nursing home. So I feel that this nursing home does it's very best to make them feel at home.

My brother came into the home end of June this year after 5 months in hospital with a stroke. He has severe learning difficulties and the staff have been wonderful to him. He loves his new home and loves to go to the activities every day. We all as his family go to see him three times a week, he's always
happy and is making lots of friends and his life is full. He's also making the residents smile!

5 years of mum being at Amber Wood, so we have seen some changes. Presently, all is going in the right direction with changes, all in the interest of the residents. Care is tailor-made to the individual. Cleanliness is great throughout the whole home, as well as in individual rooms. The activities are
always amazing, which is great for the families to see. Grateful for the management, seniors, especially Natalie and Suzie, as well as mum's carers, who know her really well. Thank you.

When I first walked through the entrance door, I felt I had entered a loving home. Yes, it is a care home, but it is so much more because of the loving care given by all the staff and the practical involvement by the management. After a very short time, I felt settled and part of the "family" and most
importantly, content with where I lived. Yes, there are compromises in a lifestyle to accept, and no place can be perfect, but these things are more than compensated for by the atmosphere of a "family" home.

Ashbourne court care home always seems very clean and a safe place for my relative to live. My relatives care seems to meet his needs and there are always plenty of activities to join in with. Once all the refurbishments have been completed I can only think the high standard will be maintained.

I looked after my mum for 10 years until her dementia made it unsafe to be at home. I dreaded mum going into a home, but I couldn't have wished for a more caring and lovely place. She has settled well and is looked after so well by everyone.

My mum entered the care home on 15/09/25. All the staff made my mum and the family who were present feel very welcome. The staff quickly got to know my mum's needs and have been excellent. They are always present and ready to help. The activities are excellent with all residents present and fully included.
The residents are always treated with respect.

Very impressed with the quality of the building and staff. Very good food, comfortable rooms, lots of attention to detail. Mended fittings, some disruption due to redecoration. Wife is slow to settle, but the staff are patient. Very good attention to medication.

My overall experience of Cedar Court has been excellent since Feb 25. My loved one requires a full level of nursing / dementia care and his needs are met with kindness, compassion and dignity.
Visiting is very flexible and I am greeted daily with warmth and friendliness. I am listened too by the care
staff and I feel able to advocate freely for my loved one who has difficulty communicating.
My loved one and I have experienced some of the events/activities together. It has been a joy to see my loved one smile and sing along.
Sometimes it is difficult to get connected to Cedar Court and speak to care staff. The social life coordinator was extremely kind in offering to facilitate a phone call with my loved one when I could not visit him for a few days.

I was previously concerned with the care and support and value for money. I am now fully satisfied that both were addressed to my satisfaction following consultation with management and senior nurses. I feel this has established a positive outcome as well as a close relationship with the professionals

I and my brothers cannot praise the staff at Somerleigh Court enough. Our father was not there for long, but the care they gave to him was exceptional, and made his final weeks comfortable, peaceful and dignified. They were attentive and sensitive, always keeping us up to date with Dad's circumstances.

The care my mother in law received was 2nd to none. I work in the care sector myself and the way the staff treated everyone including families was exceptional and welcoming. It's a shame mother in law arrived at end of life as she had enjoyed the care she received if she got there sooner. All staff
should be proud of themselves for the fantastic work they do from care, janitorial and through to management. A big well done from me a fellow care worker and district Councillor

We were extremely upset with the lack of care at Isle Court .
My 95 yr old father in law was admitted on August 8th 2025 and died on 14th September of Bladder cancer .
On 26th of August I visited at 5.30pm as his granddaughter who had earlier informed us he was crying in pain .
On arrival some
of the staff, who had been severing supper to the residents , were eating food from the trolley.
My father in law had not been given any food . When asked for his meal they did bring him a small tea plate of food which he devoured hungrily. A nurse came into the room and he had been crying in pain . She informed me he had been given 30mg of codeine in the morning for pain. I told the nurse that this in my opinion is not suitable pain relief for aggressive cancer .
She also informed me he had not had lunch as he was asleep and didn't know if he had breakfast. No food that day if I had not visited . Its heartbreaking !!
There lots of other issues eg drink not at hand and no duvet.

My mother in law, Sylvia, has been a resident at Mavern House since June.At 98 she was extremely reluctant to leave her own home but the time had come. While it took Sylvia a little while to settle she is now very happy. The staff have all been exceptionally caring and have been very patient during
the time she has been there. Sylvia is,for the first time in years, socialising and attending the daily entertainment sessions, she has her hair and nails done regularly and genuinely has a new lease on life. I cannot stress enough how grateful her close family are for the safe and comfortable environment that Mavern has provided. I cannot praise them highly enough and fully recommend this care home.

Our 98 year old mother went to live at Mavern this summer. She is a very anxious, nervous person by nature but the staff made a great effort to settle her in. We are now 3 months down the line and she is happy, settled and enjoying Mavern life. She has the company of people around to chat to and the
comfort of her own room when she wants. The staff are so kind and genuinely caring, the activities are fun and have given mum a new lease of life. The nursing staff are professional and manage mum's various health problems with good clinical knowledge and empathy.
