Argentum Lodge Care Home

Overall we are amazed by the outstanding care my Grandparents are receiving in Argentum. The daily activity's, outings and personal touches are brilliant. As a couple living together in the home they are able to be together in a safe environment. From the management to the maintenance man everything is perfect.

Dad has been a resident at Argentum Lodge for nearly 2 years. All staff have been very caring and sensitive to his needs throughout. Their understanding of his altzheimers needs are explary. Having initially looked at several 'traditional'care homes in old country houses we are very happy to have chosen Argentum Lodges with its modern facilities enabling ease of access to all rooms and their ability to maintaining even temperatures throughout the seasons - something older properties may struggle with.

The staff have been lovely welcoming mum to her new home. She has only been here a week at the moment but all the staff are getting to know her and her likes and dislikes. She says all the staff are lovely and the food is excellent. She has settled in well and hopefully continues to do so. We have found all the staff and her care excellent. Thanks to everyone for looking after my mum the way she deserves.

I can relax knowing my husband is being well looked after 24 hours a day. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always smiling. I had been looking after him at home (with the help of D. Nurses and Carers) for nearly three years and during that time we had also moved house. His health was going down hill and I was exhausted. It all came to a head when he was rushed into A&E at the BRI where they stabilised him and he slowly started to recover from a leg infection. Initially he went to Argentum Court for a Respite Stay but that was extended as he started to settle in to the routine. It took time for him to settle but when I visit now he is calmer and less anxious. I'm always pleased to see Joy and Alvin on duty together with other staff. My husband is stubborn and will always look for the easier route! If you were able to encourage him to move about more and even venture into the garden that would give him new found confidence which he does need. Thank you to all.

My father moved into the home to convalesce following a hip replacement. This was an urgent request as my father was not receiving good care in another care home. The care home staff were so responsive, helpful and caring and within 24 hours my father was welcomed into the home. Whilst the surroundings were a little more basic , it was very clean and comfortable. The staff were absolutely amazing, professional , and considerate. Dad never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for his bell to be answered. Care was taken to ensure Dad had all the equipment he needed including a pressure relieving mattress. Staff were fully on board with Dads rehabilitation programme and were proactive with encouraging him to do his physio and go for assisted walks. The food was lovely and the care staff listened to any requests and made sure Dad had access to ice for his drinks. Family were made so welcome and we were always offered refreshments. Highly recommend this care home.

My wife came to Argentum, initially for a respite break, after a long and gradual decline with Alzheimer's disease. She had regular medical attention from the nurses, and from a GP who visited every week (this never happened when she was at home with me!) and could not have been in better hands. As the end approached, despite everyone's best efforts, they were unable to coax her into eating or drinking, and she passed away peacefully. All the staff were lovely caring people.

The staff were always very friendly to me and my family and I cannot recommend Argentum Lodge highly enough.

Since my mother first went into the carehome in July 2024 my mother seems to be upset and not over happy being in there, each time we visit it changes but maybe that is down to her Dementia, upto her addmitance to hospital in the middle of Febuary 2026 after as we have been told woken up in the middle of the night and slipped ? fell and broken her hip joint, in my opinion this could of been prevented now i ask a few questions, why was the alarm mat underneath the bed for several months and not being used ? why do they never make sure her lanyard alarm never on, proven by picks, why no walking sticks in view, why very little use of walking frame, why she was not supervised to take her inhallers properly, in my opinion if the care home did the job that over £6,000 a month pays for my mother would NOT be in palative care. To be honest shop around for a care home ALWAYS REMEMBER PREVENTATIVE MEASURES ARE BETTER THAN CURE.

Jess and her team have been looking after mum for only 2 days and I can tell that she feels at home already. Rob had been helping to prepare her room even before she arrived - putting up pictures and a mirror and moving furniture. Alvin welcomed her as soon as she was in her room and took careful notes about her preferred daily routine. He was at pains to tell her that she was the boss and should let the team at Argentum know how she would like to be helped. Today Joy had helped mum to get ready for the day and commented to me how good mum's skin was. Everyone I have met here has been thoughtful and attentive and caring. Thank you Argentum for looking after mum so well.

My mum has been in this care home since July 2024, and she loves it there, The staff that care for the residents are brilliant, Nothing is to much trouble, I know my mum is well looked after 24/7, and I have piece of mind knowing she is safe and well.

Argentum is a breath of fresh air, mum was welcomed by Joy following 4 weeks in hospital - Joy was extremely caring and helped mum settle into her new surroundings. All the staff are of a very high standard and it's clear there is an excellent management structure in place.

Shini the nurse is a joyful and caring , Helen and her team run fabulous activities in the afternoon and are so enjoyable and interactive for the residents .

We have peace of mind knowing Dad is in the best place living with Dermentia .

Argentum is friendly and welcoming. Mum is being cared for well. She has improved since moving to the home in June. She is happy and content. She appears to enjoy the entertainment and has made friends. It is reassuring to know she is being cared for.

We feel that the home has a wonderful atmosphere. All the staff are really caring, friendly and helpful. My Mum says the food is delicious. Also, my Mum has very much enjoyed many of the activities over the last few months. We feel that her health and wellbeing have been very well supported. Thank you!
