Mum has been at Oak Meadows for just over two years. She has just made the transition from residential care to nursing care.
The staff took care of everything whilst she was hospitalised and her new room is perfect. Clean, comfortable, her pictures and furniture all in place, making the room as she
likes.
As she enters palliative care the staff are nothing short of magnificent. As always, we can visit anytime, day or night, and if we are not here staff sit with mum to ensure she is not alone.
Mum is kept comfortable and treated with the utmost respect by a caring and loving staff who engage with the family to ensure all needs are met or exceeded - especially when it came to facilitating mum returning to the home from hospital.
The home is undoubtedly the best place for her. I cannot thank the staff enough for all their care and love, and that is everyone from the bottom to the top.
Thank you all at Oak Meadows.

Since my mum moved into the care home, we have only been impressed. The support for mum and us a family has been so generous. The most recent example being a visit to the home where the manager and carer went out of their way to accommodate us. Taking mum out of the home has proved challenging recently
and so a carer went- in our opinion- over and above to set up a table 'restaurant-style', provided drinks and personal touches that enabled the visit to be a really positive one.
On a day-to-day basis, carers give me time on phone calls and the manager (and other staff) have always provided updates on how mum is. It is a challenging time for her, but as a family, we are navigating the unknown as well and I think it is down to the honest updates and, if I'm honest, the kindness and understanding for us as well as mum that I have come to be most grateful for.
The staff are always so positive and smiley. I am always impressed. Thank you all.

My mum came into care following a week in hospital. Until then she had some assistance and she had spend lockdown and a couple of years confined in her home. Mum has been in your care for one month and now she is walking further, and more upright and I can see a general improvement to her mobility and
well being because she joins all the activities.

As her guardian I have also especially been given help and support. During the COVID pandemic my sister was given excellent care. Thank you!

My wife has been a resident at Eastleigh for around the last 15 months and in that time I can only give the home and their highly trained staff the highest praise for the excellent care that she receives. All of her needs both medical and personal are carry out with the upmost care, compassion and dignity
making her feel like an individual person not just a number. The excellent staff at Eastleigh not only care for my wife but also make time to talk to me making sure that I am also okay. The team at Eastleigh go the extra mile and give me total peace of mind in that I know she getting the best care that is available.

Dad became a resident in late September 2024. When my brother and I looked at the room that was available we knew that this was the place for him. Dad was transferred to Eastleigh from a local hospital, on end of life care. During his time there, the staff and management nursed Dad with love, care respect
and dignity, and they also showed us as a family the same, nothing was too much trouble and answered any questions we asked. No words can really express the sincere gratitude we have for everyone at Eastleigh, and we know that Dad spent his final months surrounded by angels that truly cared for him. Should anyone find themselves in the position we were, we cannot recommend Eastleigh Care Homes high enough.

I wouldn't wish a homeless person coming in here. This isn't a care home but a dumping ground for the elderly people who have dementia. My poor mum was shut in a shed-like room. We were told she couldn't go into the lounge or dining room or take part in activities, that's if they had any. Her room was
clean but that's it. Mum's Christmas gift went missing including most of Mum's clothes. It's certainly not a loving homely place at all. Prison is better than this place so please be aware of you choosing this place to care for your loved one.

The whole experience my nan and us as a family received here was awful. My poor nan was left all day every day in her room, the majority of staff were far from professional and the care in general was terrible. The notes weren't always the truth as they used to write that she had declined food even
though I sat with her and assisted her with many of her meals which she ate all of, and the staff could never give us proper updates and were very cold hearted and didn't seem to actually want to be there. We were told she wouldn't be able to take part in activities or sit in the lounge diner with other residents which was a red flag for me from the start. Also they lost half a wardrobe of my nan's clothes which were labelled, as well as loosing some sentimental items of hers which yet again they didn't care. I was a HCA in a nursing home and my god, I've never seen such a cold hearted run down place in my years. Some days I would visit my nan and felt I was having to do their job for them.

From the first time we met the manager, our minds were put at rest that dad would be well looked after and this has been so true. He is on end of life and all the staff show great care and compassion towards dad and they are friendly. Nothing is too much trouble for them and we are kept informed of
anything that changes. We can walk away after visiting dad knowing that he is being well looked after with a high standard of care which is a comfort to us all.

My mother was on the willow ward at Oake Meadows, Trull in Taunton. The staff were very kind compassionate and caring to my mum and our family. They allowed dogs in to visit which all residents loved. We are so very grateful for everything. Mum was 94 and actually died of frailty, we could not have
asked for better interactions from all staff, nurses, helpers, and cleaners, everyone was wonderful and respectful. They treated the whole family with dignity, genuine care, and support.

My mum came into Oake Meadows at a very stressful time for the family, coping with dementia with both mum and dad and not knowing how to manage the future. The staff without exception have been incredibly supportive and understanding, prioritising mum's needs but also huge empathy for dad too, making
him feel so welcome when visiting and helping him to understand what is going on. The communication from the team is excellent, we visit a lot and they keep us updated and have always rung immediately to update us if there is an issue. The connection with Musgrove Hospital and doctors is very effective. The rooms are very well laid out and the outdoor courtyard is a lovely relaxing space. We have visited Oake Meadows at many different times of the day and mum, when not dozing, has always either been chatting with a carer, enjoying the great food or the team have been carefully engaged in her well-being. I cannot praise enough the staff and the high standard of care, thank you all.

Since my husband was admitted he has become much calmer and more settled. He seems to appreciate the fact that this is where he belongs. The staff are always so helpful when we visit and he has a good rapport with all of them. Eastleigh seems to have a happy atmosphere with care staff and management
which is very noticeable.

I am writing to express my heartfelt appreciation for Eastleigh Care Home in Minehead. My cousin has been a resident there since 2022, and although I live in Hampshire and can't visit often, I am consistently impressed by the care and attention provided. Each time I visit, I am welcomed by the incredibly
kind and dedicated staff. The management team always takes the time to chat with me, ensuring I am updated on my cousin's well-being and addressing any questions I might have. Their commitment to communication and transparency is truly commendable. The monthly newsletters are a wonderful touch, keeping me informed about the various activities and events happening at the home. Since my sister-in-law has gone into care at Eastleigh Care Home. A lot of time has been taken to find her the right medication, time and patience, to work out what makes her happy, sad, and angry. Now it is like the scales have been lifted from her eyes and she has a new life! She still has her moments
due to her illness but she is joining in what goes on around her. She has a quality of life she has not had for a very long time! Well done Eastleigh and thank you.

As we approach my nan being in the care home for almost a year I wanted to share how wonderful the care home has been for her.
The staff are always so kind and welcoming. My nan adjusted to the setting really well & she is clearly well-liked and cared about. There is an array of activities that are
planned well in advance including reptiles, lamas, bingo, Elvis singers & family favourites such as bingo. The care home has a lovely homely feel & there is always improvements being made. They have their own resident cat called Petal and a dog we often see going around with the staff. We are welcome any time of the day and all family members plus pets are welcome too. I am truly grateful for the incredible nursing staff who look after my nan so well. I wouldn’t want her to be anywhere else. The home is always very clean and tidy. Meals are varied & there is always more available. I’m so pleased we picked this as my nan’s home.
