My brother came into the home end of June this year after 5 months in hospital with a stroke. He has severe learning difficulties and the staff have been wonderful to him. He loves his new home and loves to go to the activities every day. We all as his family go to see him three times a week, he's always
happy and is making lots of friends and his life is full. He's also making the residents smile!

I and my brothers cannot praise the staff at Somerleigh Court enough. Our father was not there for long, but the care they gave to him was exceptional, and made his final weeks comfortable, peaceful and dignified. They were attentive and sensitive, always keeping us up to date with Dad's circumstances.

A wonderful home, friendly and caring. My friend recieved exemplary care, provided with compassion and empathy. The staff were always polite and helpful, not just to my friend but to me aswell. My friends dignity was maintained at all times, she felt like she was treated like family.

My Great Aunt stayed at Somerleigh for some respite care. Obviously was hesitant to begin with but now back at home, has nothing but positive thoughts about her stay. Lovely home with friendly staff, who made her feel at ease and couldn't do enough for her. My Aunt isn't ready to stay permanently but
would definitely go back for a much needed rest.

I never fail to be astounded by the variety of activities for residents at Great Oaks Care Home. Wonderful food & caring staff that make a real difference in my mum's & other resident's care needs. Residents are treated as individuals & there is a real sense of home for them. My mum is 90 now and am
sure she would not be around if not for the high level of care she receives at Great Oaks. I am happy mum is in safe hands.

Great Oaks is a well appointed, clean, relatively modern care home. Sitting in a wooded area next to a park; you could almost be in the countryside. The past year has seen a number of changes in both ownership, people and furnishings. The communal areas are light, airy, clean, tidy and well presented.
As you enter you feel welcome. The lounge areas are modern and unlike many care homes I have visited. The residents rooms are large enough, ensuite with good fenestration like any modern hotel. The care staff are good with some excellent and they are also nursing staff here. As with any organisation there are some things that fall short. 80/20. The new management is working hard to improve the facility and its services.

Very high quality care home. Luxurious accommodation. Short staffed leads to long waits for morning care sometimes. All staff friendly and efficient. Meals generally good but not hot enough.

From the moment my mum moved into Great Oaks my worries started to fade. The staff are so caring also taking her to the activities which she enjoys dancing - singing coffee mornings afternoon tea has given her a family feeling which of course was unable to do in her own home. Since my wife has been in Oakdale she has come on a great deal. Thanks to the care and kindness of all the staff in there.
She is very happy and learning to stand again. We have asked for NHS help but no one has been forth coming.

My aunt was with you for her final years and you treated her with care and respect. When clearing her room 2 staff members came to see that I was okay and shared with me their memories of my aunt.
It has a touching experience, especially as she had been bed-ridden for 18 months so their memories meant

We are so pleased that Mum is at Somerleigh Court. She is there for respite care and the staff and nurses are all very attentive and professional. Mum knows that she is being very well looked after and that makes us happy as a family, knowing that she is in the right place. The staff always find time
in their busy schedule to chat with Mum, and she really appreciates the attention. The meals are well received and Mum is able to request her favourite food from the kitchen. Mums' room is comfortable and spacious enough for her to have some possessions around her and the ensuite bathroom is well designed and manageable with a Zimmer frame. Staff members are happy to take Mum outside in a wheelchair for short visits and fresh air when the weather allows. The surrounding gardens are lovely and the care home buildings are attractive, built for purpose and well maintained. We visit Mum regularly and there are no restrictions on timing or length of visits. Thank you for everything.

My mother enjoyed 10 years as a resident in Somerleigh Court before needing to move to their nursing home at short notice. The nursing home was excellent; they facilitated a quick transfer in a professional and compassionate manner. Mum went in for respite care but quickly deteriorated and passed 2
weeks latter (she had terminal cancer). My brother and I were hugely impressed by the care and compassion shown by the staff. This started at reception, went through all the carers and extended to catering, maintenance and administration. There's a new manager and she's excellent. The home has significantly improved and based upon our recent experience we'd whole heartedly recommend Somerleigh Nursing Home.
