Park View Gloucester

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My aunt was resident at Park View for over 6 years and her health declined over that period leaving her with significant dementia. She was so well looked after during that time and her end of life care was exemplary. The care home is beautifully kept: it is light and airy with room for relatives to
visit in a little coffee room on the ground floor. The bedrooms are lovely - roomy, nicely decorated and very comfortable. We were impressed with all the activities available for the residents to participate in.
But best of all is the staff. They are all so loving and caring. They really like their residents and look after each individual as if they were their own.
My aunt's end of life care included getting her back from hospital on Christmas Eve so she could be in her familiar place. She recovered from her fall but then declined a few weeks later. She was supported gently into her passing with such loving care that it eased the experience for me. It was a good death. Thank you.
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and moving review. We are deeply touched by your kind words and truly honoured that Park View was your Aunt's home for so many years. It means a great deal to know that you felt she was cared for with dignity, comfort and compassion, especially at the end of her life.
Your appreciation of our environment, activities, and our team will be shared with everyone. Our staff strive to treat each resident as family, and your recognition of their love and dedication is incredibly meaningful to us.
We are grateful that we could support your Aunt in being somewhere familiar and peaceful, and that this brought you comfort during such a difficult time. Thank you for trusting us with her care and for your heartfelt thanks.

Dad decided after mum had died that he didn't want to stay at home on his own, he was welcomed into Parkview and within a few weeks had settled in and he had the best part 2 of his life .He always said you'll never find a better place than this . He was so proud of his lovely room . Charlotte,Pia and
all the staff have been amazing . Dad enjoyed almost three years of his second life at Parkview.. Activities are wonderful ,something happening all the time . Dad only really enjoyed bingo and some musical events but he was taken care off all the time.
Food is incredible and nothing is too much trouble for the kitchen staff . Family are also taken into consideration and are involved if they want to be.
Cleanliness is second to none. Everyone is so friendly and helpful.
The carers ,day and night are so kind and considerate ..it must be a very stressful job at times. It takes a special kind of person to work there. The reception staff are always helpful and cheerful.
Thank you all .
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. We are truly honoured that you chose PV to be part of such an important chapter of Dad's life. Knowing that he felt proud of his home, well cared for, and able to enjoy activities he loved means a great deal to us. We work hard to create a welcoming, supportive environment for residents and their families, and your kind words about our care, activities, food, and cleanliness will be shared with everyone, though we know your family always made great efforts to ensure staff felt your appreciation. We will greatly miss you all being part of our daily lives, and hope that you do come to visit as often as you can. Thank you for trusting us and for your sincere appreciation, it means so much to us all xx

Park View looked after my Father and Brother over 4 years and at no time was I ever disappointed in their care. Charlotte, Pia and the team have acted with complete professionalism throughout their stay and I would also go as far to say that treated them both as if they were family members. All members
of the team have always been warm and lovely and I would never hesitate to recommend Park View to anyone considering their services.
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you so much for your lovely message. It really means a lot to us to hear that Dad and your brother felt so well cared for during their time here at Park View. Knowing they were treated like family is exactly what we always hope for, and your kind words will mean so much to us all. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and for your recommendation, we really, really appreiciate it.

Due to an accident at my home I needed to find a respite nursing home for my 94 year old mum within a couple of hours. Despite it being a Sunday afternoon Parkview staff were amazing at accepting mum and getting her settled in. I could not believe how quick it was. Staff were so kind to mum and went
out of their way to quickly take on board her care needs and ensure they were met. Staff were kind, respectful, warm and demonstrated an excellent understanding of her needs and of dementia. She ended up staying 8 weeks and the care was excellent the whole time. There is a wonderful range of activities that residents can access, but mum was never once felt pressured to join in if she didn't want to. The home was good at communicating with me via emails and texts. The food choices were excellent.
I can highly recommend Parkview, it had a real ' home from home' feel to it and staff go out of their way to support residents and families.
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you so much for your lovely feedback! Hearing this was truly heartening for our team, as it reflects exactly the standard of care and compassion we strive to provide for every resident, whether they are with us for respite or longer-term care. We're really pleased we could support you and your mum at such short notice and that she felt comfortable, respected and well cared for throughout her stay. Your kind words about our staff, communication, activities and overall homely feel mean a great deal to us. Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience x

My mum had a fantastic experience when she stayed for a week. She was really apprehensive at it was her first experience of respite. The whole process of leading up to the stay was done sensitively and involving her along the way, so she felt her views truly mattered. Thank you.
The staff could not
do enough to make the experience more favourable or pleasant. Everyone was so kind, empathetic and generous with their time. They checked on her very frequently, especially on the first day / night to ensure she was settled and had everything she needed. She really appreciated this as she didn't feel alone at all. She loved the food and activities and really embraced it. When I spoke to her she was really settled and has no worries at all about returning for subsequent respite as required. Thank you to the whole team for helping make it such a positive experience for her.
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you so much for taking the time to share this wonderful feedback! We're delighted to hear that Mum felt supported and comfortable throughout her stay, especially during her first respite experience. It's lovely to know that the team's care, kindness and attention helped her feel at ease. We'll be sure to share your kind words with the whole team, they'll be thrilled to know their efforts made such a positive difference for your family

My husband stayed with you earlier this month for respite care. The home is bright and busy with lots of activities with quieter areas too. The staff are kind and caring. My husband probably found it difficult initially but by the end of his short stay seemed settled. Many thanks to the staff and the
kindness shown to us both. Particular thanks to Pia for the time she gave to me on my initial visit.
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you so much for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to meet you both and to help support you both during your husband's first respite stay. I'm so pleased to hear that you both felt welcomed and cared for. We always aim to provide a warm, supportive environment with plenty of choice and activity, and your feedback means a great deal to all of us. I'll be sure to share your kind words with the rest of the team, and thank you so much for your kind words about our first meeting, it really means a lot <3

My family and I will always be grateful for the excellent care given to my husband Douglas in the last 6 months of his life. This was done professionally but with such warmth and attention to his personal feelings and wishes and always with good humour. We felt he was always seen as an individual and
respected as such.
And the warmth was extended to us his family. We always felt welcome and nothing was too much trouble - the maintenance men stepped in at once when I had a problem with my car and sorted it in no time!
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful words. It was a privilege to care for your husband and to support you and your family during such an important time. We are truly touched that you felt the warmth, respect, and humour we strive to bring to our care. Knowing that both your husband and your family felt welcomed and supported means a great deal to our whole team, from care staff to maintenance. We're grateful for your trust in us and send you and your family our very best wishes

My sister and I care for dad on a full time basis so it's very difficult for us to get away together. We put dad into respite care at Park View so that we could go away for a number of days knowing that dad would be cared for in a safe environment. We cannot recommend Park View highly enough, dad was
greeted by many members of staff on his arrival and we were all given lunch to settle him in, everyone was so kind and helpful and we were sent lots of photos of his stay there so we knew he was getting on fine. Thank you Park View for helping us to get away for a break knowing dad was being well cared for.
Reply from Pia Potter-Farrant, Operations Manager at Park View GloucesterThank you so much for sharing your kind words. We understand how important it is for families to feel confident and at ease when a loved one comes into respite care, and we're delighted to hear that Dad felt welcomed and supported during his stay. It was a pleasure getting to know him and keeping you updated throughout his time with us. We're so pleased we could give you both the opportunity to enjoy a well-deserved break, and we look forward to welcoming your family again in the future.

My elderly Parents recently spent over a month at Park View to allow my Mother to receive high quality respite care following a long spell in hospital. Bright, modern & clean with a good variety of daily activities on offer. But, first and foremost, it is the brilliant staff who impressed me the most:
kind, caring and professional, and always with a ready smile. Highly recommended :)

Just wanted to say a big big thank you to ParkView and all it staff with looking after my mum for over 3 years. The care, support, and overall state of the residence was absolutely outstanding. The staff are so caring and really do everything they can, every minute of the day to support the residents.
The home is first class in terms of facilities and all of the services they offer. We are so thankfull for the support they gave, this is the best facility that I have heard of and seen in Gloucestershire.

I stayed at Park View for one week until the 2nd of June. I found the freedom of movement unexpected and welcome. The carers were hard-working and kind, nothing seemed to be too much trouble for anyone, which was very much appreciated, as I am quadriplegic. All in all I found from both an experience
and a value for money viewpoint, excellent value for money.

Mum stayed with you for six weeks whilst we went to visit our daughter in Japan. The care and attention she received was excellent. She came out of herself and joined in lots of activities rather than just staying in her room watching TV as she does at home. We received regular updates from them and
they also updated Mum on what we were doing from our social media posts. We were able to relax and enjoy our holiday knowing Mum was safe and in such good hands.

This was my first experience of respite care, and I was looked after extremely well. Activities were fun, food was marvellous, and I made many new friends. The only downside was that I found the bed a little uncomfortable, but apart from that, I would recommend a stay to anyone. Thank you, and hope
