Woodleigh Care Home

In general, I am happy with the care provided. I've ticked fair in cleanliness + security because of the cat + kitten running around the home and getting in my mum's room. And fair for safety + security because of other residents wandering in her room from time to time. As she is bedbound it unnerves her having pets + residents wandering in.

This is an ongoing problem that's been like it since my brother-in-law has lived there. On the surface, things seem fine, but when you look around, the pots aren't always clean and rubbish bins are a real mess in the kitchen diner. The carers are so busy, but still expected to clean and go and care for the residents. It could do with someone on duty just for doing the pots after the dinner and tea-time meals, so the care can concentrate on caring.

Mum was looked after well.

I have found Woodleigh provide an excellent service. They make it feel like home. Nothing is too much trouble, if it can be provided it will be. Clean, tidy, rooms & group areas. Very good regarding personal care provided. Excellent activities provided providing good experiences. Staff all very friendly & willing to help. I like that the staff are long term mostly which helps keep things familiar for service users. users.

My cousin enjoys the excellent food provided and spending time in the garden when weather permits. As he is very deaf this is a quieter area for us to chat, as is the bar area. The care home is always welcoming when we visit, and we feel that he is cared for well.

He is cleaned and tidy. He.wadnt when he arrived there as he refused to cooperate. They gently persuaded him and now he is happy to do so. I now.can sleep at night knowing keith is in safe hands. We would have no problems recommending woodleigh.

My mum has been in the care home now for approx 6 months, and in that time, has received excellent care from the staff at Woodleigh. Prior to living at Woodleigh, my mum spent many weeks and months in and out of hospital over several years. Now, with the level of care, hygiene and stimulation my mum gets at Woodleigh, her health is much improved and she is much more stable. The staff are very kind and friendly towards her, and she particularly enjoys the group activities they undertake.

The rooms are very clean and well maintained and there are lots of activities for the residents to participate in.

My mother-in-law is extremely happy living at Woodleigh. She is well looked after by the staff who are always pleasant when we visit. Margaret feels secure and safe. She enjoys the food and company of other residents during meal times. Margaret enjoys having her hair done by the professional hairdresser and sometimes staff do her nails. Her medical needs are met by the nursing staff and visiting doctor.

I am so pleased that we chose Woodleigh for him.

The home is fabulous ,they care for my mum brilliantly. The staff are very friendly and kind to all of our family and friends that visit mum. The home is clean and tidy. Home always smells nice and staff are pleasant.

My mum was sent to Woodleigh on fast track all the team were amazing from day one always to hand to answer any questions mum took a turn for the worse after only a few weeks I was main contact they call and helped me through the best decision for mum they provided food for all the family during the day and sadly mum passed at 19.05 the same day every member of staff were amazing throughout to make our lives easier on the worst day of my life I went back the week after to clear mums belongings but was not rushed into doing this but by me clearing the room meant someone else would benefit from there help thank you to all the team

My Grandad was here until his last days, lovely staff, clean and well kept, well managed and they actually care. Would recommend these lovely people to anybody wanting the best for their loved ones. Can't thank them enough

My Grandad is a resident at Woodleigh, I visit on a weekly basis and always leave knowing my grandad is looked after and cared for just how you want him to be! The staff are always so friendly and smiling. The home is always clean and very welcoming.

Dad passed at Woodleigh on 10/10/24, 10 months after expected. Dad was fast-tracked by the NHS with mixed dementia and repeated aspirations and so we had to choose a final home for the most independent of men. For us Woodleigh was an obvious fit, an inspired choice. Dad quickly accepted Woodleigh as his home and residents and staff as family and friends. My dad was a demanding man and knew a swear word or two, if he didn't get his way. At his best and worst, everyone was considerate and respectful of Dad, and even enjoyed banter with him. The wonderful chefs restored Dad's appetite and extended his life. And on the night he passed. He had a carer with him talking to him about things they'd previously discussed, when he could answer. It was touchingly beautiful to see the relationship staff built with Dad. The best decision for Dad was Woodleigh and I'm sure my dad would agree. We can't thank and appreciate all the staff enough for those extra months we had with Dad.

My mother was a long-term resident at Woodleigh, spanning over nine years by the time of her death. This included the very difficult period during the COVID-19 pandemic. Whilst she struggled to settle initially and took time to build new friendships, as soon as she knew which other residents and staff she felt she could trust, then she became an active resident and made many friends. The staff treated her well, knew her needs and respected them. Sadly, time caught up with her eventually and she required increased levels of care. The staff treated her with dignity and were always available when family members needed them. The change of ownership latterly appeared to change the persona of the home, with a much more business-like approach adopted. Although I appreciate that this was also a more difficult time for the home financially, due to their increased costs, fees did latterly feel so much higher though.

Friendly and welcoming environment. My Dad has settled in very easily. All staff are friendly and approachable. Lots of activities and interaction with residents. Good responsive management.

Everyone is very welcoming and cannot do enough to make my visit comfortable and most of all they are looking after my husband 100%. Everywhere is clean and they always make me and my husband a drink.
