My mum's been in this care home for over a year now, and honestly, we couldn’t have found a better place for her. All the staff are so thoughtful going above and beyond for mum, and the care they have given her is exceptional.

My nana got moved to Woodleigh from another home due to needing beds because of Coronavirus. Today was the first time I got to see her since lockdown, and she seems so much healthier than when I last got the chance of seeing her! She’s put on weight and she seems genuinely happy which is something I’ve not seen in the longest time, thank you for truly caring for her and I can trust that she is in safe hands! No matter how much of a pain I can guarantee she is! We all appreciate everything that you do every day to make her feel safe and loved.

Thank you so much for your kind words, in what is a very strange and trying time for us all, we appreciate such lovely comments. We love our residents, who are our family and to see such a vast improvement in someone makes it all worthwhile, it really is our pleasure!

Woodleigh care home has wonderful, caring, loving staff; always welcoming, very clean, comfortable bedrooms, lovely food and well kept beautiful gardens. First-class interaction with all the residents. I can't thank them enough; they go above and beyond.

My mother was transferred here from the hospital for end of life care. This was an upsetting time for us, but Mum has been looked after very well and always given lots of respect. All of the staff are very friendly and happy; always willing to answer any questions or worries we have. We can't thank all of the staff for the hard work, love and support they give enough!

Reply from Sarah Milnes, Registered Manager / Registered Nurse at Woodleigh Care Home

Thank you for your lovely review, we always aim to provide the best possible care available, we are an extremely close and proud team. We can't imagine how difficult it has been for you as a family, especially at such an unprecedented time. I will pass on your kind words to the staff and we are so privileged to be able to care for your mum.

Woodleigh is a home from home. Caring, warm-hearted staff, or rather extended family members! The owner is always on hand or readily available, and a more caring individual than many an owner of a business. Woodleigh provides a wonderful environment for the residents and their families.

The care home is like a home from home. Within a week all the staff knew me as well as my husband. Everyone was really friendly as well as doing their jobes - whether in the office, nursing, caring, cleaning, laundry etc. They always have time for the resident, family and friends.

My mum became a resident at Woodleigh in August 2015, aged 91, with progressing dementia and severe mobility problems. As a family, we felt, having reviewed several care homes, that her needs would be best met at Woodleigh. Settling in was a problem for her as she had been cared for 24/7 by her daughters for 2 years. She did adjust, making friends. There have been many changes in both members of staff, and naturally with residents. At present, she is the oldest. At present, there are many, long-serving staff, and I feel the level of care is excellent. Mum is shown a lot of affection and treated with dignity.

Dad came to Woodleigh after a very bad experience with a different unconnected nursing home. From the moment he arrived we have been delighted with his care. The staff are so kind and patient, they genuinely care about the residents. As family members, we have been made to feel extremely welcome and our input into Dad’s care needs has been welcomed.
There is a program of enrichment activities for all the residents to stimulate them. The food is very good. The manager and owner are always available for a chat or to explain anything we’ve been unsure about.

The thing that makes Woodleigh really special is that they care they offer us as family members, we really have been made to feel part of the “Woodleigh family”.

My mum has vascular dementia. She went to live at Woodleigh on 7th August 2019. Staff made my mum and our family very welcome. Mum has only been there a few days and I have seen a difference in her. The owner of the home also introduced himself to us and made us feel welcome. The manager is also very nice. Thank you all.

Dad entered Woodleigh in July 2017 with acute vascular dementia.
Throughout his time at Woodleigh his care has been excellent.
The staff and management have always treated him with care and dignity and any concerns that we have raised with management have been dealt with swiftly.
Unfortunately Mum is now also in Woodleigh. She has also been treated with the utmost respect.

A big thank you to all concerned.

Our father was in Woodleigh's care for only two weeks. In that time he, and we, were treated with care, compassion, consideration, respect and dignity. We wish he had had longer to enjoy being there. Thank you to all the staff and management who helped to make a difficult time easier and our father's death as peaceful and comfortable as we could have hoped.

My mother spent the last five years of her life at Woodleigh and was cared for with compassion, understanding and dignity. The staff perform a difficult task, but it never showed. During my visits from the US, I only ever witnessed excellent care from all staff members. From the kitchen staff, to the cleaners, to the carers and management; I could not have wished for a better experience for my dear mother.

My father came to stay at Woodleigh in December 2017 (end of life care). He had spent a few weeks in hospital deeply unhappy and unable to go home. Whilst in the care of Woodleigh he had a very happy time and was happy with all his care and loved the kindness of the staff. He passed away with dignity and pain-free, a happy man.

My father has been in Woodleigh Christian Care Home since December 2016. He has complex health needs and has been very well looked after by both carers and nurses and settled well.

He has been in and out of hospital but each time has been keen to return to Woodleigh and has recovered well. Largely due to the attention he received at the home.

The staff go out of their way to keep residents happy and looked after and there are activities planned throughout the week. The home is not a new building but the care that I have seen is first rate and that is what is important. I hope this does not change.

My father has been at Woodleigh Christina Care Home for approximately 18 months. Overall I am happy with dad's care and problems that have arisen have been promptly discussed with the management team and have been resolved. During this time the only challenge appears to be continuity of staff and management that keeps changing. I now feel there is a robust management team in place and hope communication will be maximised at all levels to ensure each resident continues to receive the care they require and deserve

Generally a good care home my dad seems happy here. Has been a resident for 12 months. Home is clean and plenty of staff are available and activities and trips are available if the residents wish to participate. Only complaint is communication issues, messages are not always passed on to other staff, and requests have to be made 2 -3 times on occasions.

Although my mum was with you for a short time the whole of the team from the cleaners to management were very caring not only to my mum but to members of my family and friends. They are always smiling in what I can only describe as a high pressure job. A special thank you must go to the manager for being fantastic and friend through it all and also the Chaplin. Your staff are a credit to your company. Many thanks

I feel that here at Woodleigh we put emphasis on each resident as an individual, promoting their choices and enabling them to maintain links with the wider community. There is a wide activities programme and all staff work together to encourage people to continue their long-term hobbies and take up new ones.

I believe the only way to achieve the very best care, is to have a well-trained and dedicated staff team, all of whom possess all the core values and beliefs that I and the company feel are essential to be a part of the Woodleigh Care Home. This is achievable through robust recruitment processes and by providing up-to-date, relevant training programmes. I enjoy working together to provide the most homely and best care experience for your loved ones.
