The carers, nurses and manager were extremely caring and compassionate. All were friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for me. Such friendly staff which helped make my stay more bearable. Both male and female staff treated me with respect.
My room was spotlessly clean as was the bedding.
My
overall care was exceptional thanks to the dedicated staff.
I'd like to pass on my thanks and gratitude to the dedicated staff.

Mum was here for palliative care during the last few weeks of her life and received excellent care. Everyone who works at this home were friendly, professional and respectful at all times. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone, whether it was during the day or night. All the staff were excellent with
family members who visited and we were allowed to go and see Mum at any time of the day or night. They even gave us bedding so we could sleep in Mum's room when it was nearing the end of her life and offered us drinks and snacks. The nurses were amazing, they managed Mum's pain really well and it was a peaceful, pain free passing for her. The cakes by the log in pad for visitors was a massive hit too!! The family can not thank you enough for the care and compassion you gave to Mum and us. THANK YOU EVERYONE !!

Mavern House Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Although my dad was only a resident at Mavern House for two weeks, we cannot praise the staff and the facilities high enough. The care shown to dad was so kind, gentle and respectful. All the staff were also incredibly kind and understanding to myself and my brother at what was a difficult and emotional
time for us. The overall atmosphere of Mavern House is friendly, welcoming and very homely. The activities we saw encouraged residents to join in with celebrating Valentine's Day, Chinese New Year (with staff dressed up and Chinese themed meals) and dancing in the garden on a day when the weather was particularly warm. Overall a happy place to live and work.

My daughter, in care due to extreme issues with functional neurological disorder, has received first-class care, with all staff members being caring, very friendly and efficient.
The care centre is both 'homely' and orderly, with a high standard of hygiene. We commend this care centre and the hard-working
staff.

My friend came into the care home for reablement from the hospital, and being at Wellington Hall was a godsend. We were welcomed warmly by Jodie, Kate and all the team on floor 2. I was impressed by how much choice and freedom residents have and how every member of staff interacts with each resident.
Relatives were welcomed and involved, and communication was really good. Thank you, everyone, you made a big impact and difference.

Mum moved here a year ago, we were reluctant as the home she was in she was settled and well looked after. However I couldn't ask for better care or a better place for my mum to be! The team and management are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met. The facilities are wonderful the care and
support they give not just my mum but myself as well I couldn't ask for more.
Reply from Kayleigh Izzard, Registered Manager at Oake Meadows Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. It truly means a great deal to the whole team at Oake Meadows to hear such positive feedback.
We understand that moving a loved one into a new home can be a very difficult decision, especially when they have been settled elsewhere, so we are incredibly pleased to hear that your mum has settled well and that you feel confident in the care and support she receives.
Our team work hard to create a warm, welcoming environment for both residents and their families, and it is wonderful to know that you feel supported too. Your comments about our staff, management and facilities will be shared with the whole team as they will be very proud to hear them.
Thank you again for trusting us with your mum's care.
Kind regards,

Argentum Lodge Care Home

from Katherine P (Daughter of Resident) published on 15 March 2026

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My Dad was at Argentum for about 15 months. The staff are very professional and caring and treated Dad with dignity and kindness. They encouraged Dad to join activities and socialise, but also respected his wishes, when he didn't want to. Due to Dad's illnesses, he had frequent falls - we were always
informed when this happened and kept up to date. The staff did all they could to help with fall prevention - room adaptations, arranging an OT visit, frequent monitoring, etc.
The staff were always very friendly to me and my family and I cannot recommend Argentum Lodge highly enough.

My grandma has just spent the last 2 years at Ashbourne Court. She has had five star treatment. From reception to carers. From food to the best entertainment. Staff especially. I cannot of wished for her to have been anywhere else. It not only impacted on her life but made our relationships more fulfilled
until her last days. Thank you.

Corbrook Park Nursing Home

from Claire C (Daughter of Resident) published on 13 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mum was a resident at Corbrook Park for 3 months following a brief hospital stay. When she arrived she was very unwell and disoriented and we needed a place where she would be genuinely cared for. From the moment we walked through the door, the staff were exceptional. In particular, Anita, the manager,
who took the time to speak with my brother and I at length, listening to our concerns and reassuring us.
Every team member, from the warm and welcoming reception to the exceptional nursing staff, went above and beyond to ensure Mum received the best care possible. We were always kept informed about any changes to Mum's care and any questions we had were answered promptly and with kindness.
Sadly, Mum passed away a week ago, but we will be forever grateful for the compassion and support shown by the entire team during her stay. She passed away with dignity, surrounded by three incredible staff members who were there with her in her final moments. Thank you xx

My Mother has been at Oakemeadows since September 2025. The staff are very friendly and caring, and they make my wife and I feel very welcome when we visit. She is very happy there which makes us happy. She enjoys the entertainment which is very good. We would recommend this home.
Reply from Kayleigh Izzard, Registered Manager at Oake Meadows Nursing HomeThank you for your lovely review. We are so pleased to hear that your mother has settled well at Oake Meadows since joining us in September 2025. It means a great deal to us that both you and your wife feel welcomed when visiting, as supporting families is just as important as caring for our residents.
Our team work hard to create a warm, friendly environment and to provide engaging activities and entertainment, so it is wonderful to hear that your mother is enjoying them and is happy here. Knowing that she feels comfortable and well cared for is exactly what we strive for.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When my grandmother's health became worse and she was in need of nursing care, we took the difficult decision to move her into a nursing home, but what a fantastic place we found in Stanshawes!
From our first visit, the staff went over and above to support both her and us as a family.
Management
and staff have created a warm and welcoming home with a lovely, happy atmosphere. The range of activities on offer for the residents is superb and when I was visiting it was lovely to see so many people laughing and joining in. The food looked delicious too!
As a family, we were made to feel incredibly welcome. The staff were always happy to answer any questions we had and we could not have asked for better care for Nan. The staff truly are a credit to their profession.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Stanshawes without any hesitation.

Bowbrook

from D H (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 March 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
"I am extremely disappointed with the standard of care provided at this home. Over recent months I noticed a clear decline, including poor communication, lack of attention to basic needs, and concerns regarding staff practice.

During one visit I found my dad unresponsive and had to request 999 myself.

He was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with pneumonia. This was incredibly distressing and raised serious concerns about monitoring and escalation procedures.

I raised issues with management on more than one occasion but unfortunately saw little meaningful improvement.

Since moving my father to another care setting, I have noticed a significant improvement in his overall wellbeing and appearance. This has reinforced my concerns about the level of care at Bowbrook.

It is heartbreaking to feel your loved one may not have been cared for safely or with the dignity they deserve. I would urge others to thoroughly research and ask detailed questions before considering placement here.

Reply from Lucie Goodall, Registered Manager at BowbrookThank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that this was a difficult experience for you and your family. We have already been in contact with you directly, and your concerns are being reviewed through our formal complaints process.

We take all feedback seriously and remain committed to providing safe, respectful, and highquality care for all residents. We are pleased to hear your father is doing well in his new setting and wish him continued good health.

Any families with questions or concerns are encouraged to speak with us so we can offer support and reassurance.

I have 2 relatives at Bowbrook- we admitted the second after being so impressed with the way the first was treated.
Staff - carers and seniors - always know how they are at any point and if there are any issues. Information feedback via email is excellent.
All the staff, including cleaners and activity
co-ordinaters are all lovely, caring and will all go the extra mile.
The building is so well designed in allowing the residents freedom to move around both inside and outside whilst remaining safe.
I work in the NHS and have seen many care homes from a professional viewpoint - Bowbrook outshines them all.
Reply from Lucie Goodall, Registered Manager at BowbrookThank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. It means a great deal to the whole team to know that the care and support we provide has given you the confidence to choose Bowbrook for both of your relatives. Our carers, seniors, housekeeping team and activity coordinators all work hard to ensure residents feel safe, valued and well supported, so it is wonderful to hear that this has been your experience. We are also pleased that our communication and updates have been helpful, and that the design of the home has contributed to your relatives comfort and independence. Coming from someone with NHS experience, your comments are especially meaningful, and we truly appreciate your trust in us. Thank you again for your kind words and for allowing us to be part of your familys journey.
