Oldbury Grange Nursing Home

My mother has been a resident at this care home for some time now, and I honestly can't speak highly enough of the care she receives. From the very beginning, the staff have been kind, patient, and genuinely attentive - not just to my mother's physical needs, but to her emotional wellbeing too.

The

carers treat her with dignity and respect, and it's clear they take the time to really know the residents as individuals. Communication with the family has always been clear and reassuring, which makes such a difference when you're trusting others with someone you love.

The home itself is clean, welcoming, and well run, but it's the people who truly make it special. Knowing my mother is safe, comfortable, and cared for with compassion gives me real peace of mind. I'm extremely grateful to the entire team and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this care home to other families.

After a stay in hospital and despite wishing to return home mum went to Verulam House. Unfortunately she was only there a short time but in that time the care she received was excellent, knowing she was comfortable, warm and well looked after was very reassuring. We are most grateful to all the staff
and management. Thank you.

Oakdale Care Home

from Laurence K (Brother-in-law of Resident) published on 30 January 2026

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I am very pleased with the care and support, the care home provides, especially as staff numbers have been cut, which makes it hard work for them to look after the residents. All the staff are very helpful and very kind to my brother-in-law. I am very impressed with the meals they provide and how lovely
and clean the home is kept. The entertainment that is on every day is first class. Also the management run the home amazingly well. Well done to all of you.
Reply from Lesley Brock, General Manager at Oakdale Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words and for taking the time to share your experience with us. We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you are pleased with the care your brother-in-law is receiving, and I will be sure to pass on your compliments to our catering, housekeeping, and entertainment teams. They will be delighted to know their hard work is making such a positive impact.
Regarding your observation about our team, I would like to provide a little clarity to put your mind at ease. Our staffing levels have not been reduced. As a care provider, our staffing model is designed to be flexible based on the dependency levels of our residents. This means we "step up" or "step down" our staffing numbers in direct alignment with the specific care needs and acuity of the people living with us at any given time. This ensures that our team is always positioned exactly where they are needed most to maintain the high standards of care you've observed.

Eastleigh Care Homes (Raleigh Mead)

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Raleigh Mead is a first class Care Home. Our Dad was there for over 8 years and he and us experienced the care on all three level and without exception I can honestly say the staff and the care Dad was given was exceptional
I have highly recommended Raleigh Mead to several friends who were looking
to place a Mum or Dad and would recommend again without hesitation. My Dad had to stay at several care homes and Raleigh Mead was his final one and by far a much more professional and caring home and I couldn't have wished for a nicer place for him to be and for us to visit.
Reply from Kelly Baker, Manager at Eastleigh Care Homes (Raleigh Mead)Thank you so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and heartfelt review. We are truly honoured that your dad spent his final years with us at Raleigh Mead, and it means a great deal to know that both he and your family felt supported, cared for, and welcomed throughout his time here.
Your kind words about our team across all three levels will be shared with the staff, who are deeply committed to providing compassionate, professional care every day. Knowing that you felt confident recommending Raleigh Mead to others is the highest compliment we could receive.
Thank you again for your trust and for allowing us to be part of your dad's journey. It was a privilege to care for him, and we wish you and your family all the very best.

My cousin was transferred from hospital to Oldbury Grange for end of life palliative care. He died yesterday, and I would like to thank all the staff who work there for the high standard of care and attention he received. I visited him at least once a day for his stay there, and could have not been
more impressed by how comfortable the staff had made him. It seemed like nothing was too much trouble for the staff to help him out.

St Peter's House Care Home

Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Mum moved to St Peter's on 1st July 2024 and was here until Dec 2025 when she sadly passed away. Initially in an upstairs room, when a ground floor room with a view of the garden became available, mum moved here. She very much enjoyed the many activities on offer. In May 2024 she was diagnosed with
mixed and vascular dementia. Throughout her time at St Peter's, staff could not have been more helpful. Any issues which I may have had were always dealt with promptly with effective communication at all times. Management, admin, team leaders, care staff, activities co-ordinators, housekeeping, catering & the maintenance team - all have offered outstanding support. Nothing was ever too much trouble. In her last few days, I stayed with mum at the care home. They looked after me with so much loving care. Thank you so much, to everyone at St Peter's, for all the love and care towards Mum. Now at peace.

Mother in law has been in Ivybank for about 18 months and is well looked after. The staff in the home know her very well and understand her needs. There are opportunities for enrichment activities, run by both internal staff and external entertainers which she loves. Feels like a great big family and
she is very happy here.

Mum went into respite care over the Christmas period as she wasn't coping well on her own at home. The staff went above and beyond to make Mum feel welcome and safe. When family went to visit her they could see a real difference in her, mum was happy and had made friends and felt safe. I can't thank
the staff enough for all the care and support they have not only given to mum, but also us as a family. Mum now has made Stanshawes her permanent home.

Water jugs not always filled and not always serviettes.
Apart from entertainment in lounge, Christmas singers, I haven't been offered any other activities.
Because of the position of the light switches I can't operate them from my bed.
Apart from this it's a very good experience staying here for
respite.
Very pleasant and caring staff.
