Mavern House Nursing Home

Our 98 year old mother went to live at Mavern this summer. She is a very anxious, nervous person by nature but the staff made a great effort to settle her in. We are now 3 months down the line and she is happy, settled and enjoying Mavern life. She has the company of people around to chat to and the
comfort of her own room when she wants. The staff are so kind and genuinely caring, the activities are fun and have given mum a new lease of life. The nursing staff are professional and manage mum's various health problems with good clinical knowledge and empathy.

The staff & management are very caring and friendly to both myself and my wife. There is always plenty to occupy the residents if they want it, there's some activity every morning and afternoon and if they wish they can go into the garden for a walk with the staff every day.

Couldn't recommend this nursing home enough nothing is to much trouble very clean modern. Care is to a very high standard. Felt at ease that my mum was being well cared for and knew she was safe and would not come to any harm. Always involved in in activities which she found fun and joing in as a group

1) First class reception staff - outstanding. Discreet. Helpful + understanding.
2) Care staff also - very good, kind, helpful, guide to understand needs.
3) Food and drink: High standard. Civilised. But 'single type' of user makes mealtimes together depressing. Cecily allowed dogs and had a nursery
onsite and allowed mingling of beginning and end of life experience. Kitchen kept forgetting non-meat eater.

I recently visited a resident at Vale View over a period of a week.
I was very impressed with the care that he consistently received.
All members of staff showed compassion. They treated him with dignity and care at all times. They always smiled and showed a genuine interest in my friend and his family.
I
look forward to my return to see these lovely staff.

As a family, we have all been absolutely astounded by the care given to our Mum,Grandma, great grandma by absolutely everyone at Mavern House. They have all been so kind, showing genuine care for us all. As soon as we walked through the door the sense of
relief we felt that mum was going to be cared
for with tenderness and dignity was immense.
We couldn't have been happier with the whole experience.

Dear Reader's of this page
Well I love they exterior of they property or they outside of they Nursing home in photos and in real life it really does show real splendour and I am been real honest here and real true facts.
I will not mention they exteror garden front so much that I will give a miss
nor they back for that matter so much as all feedback has to be really really positive on here these particular pages so hush hush. love there flowers in fact got a photo of these nor they car park as a skip is present and on they premises so hush hush again.
As for They actual downstairs lounge well there's work that gets carried out what do you expect it to look like at this moment and I am can be really confident that this particular lounge for they residents downstairs can look as impressive as outside of this rather wonderful looking property.
I love they reception of this old persons property in pictures and inreal life the Manager's office they water dispenser all get great score.
Reply from Jackie Calpin, Manager at Birchlands Care Home

Thank you Abigail for your review. Have you been for a look round the back garden yet? It's truly peaceful with some beautiful sitting areas now that it has been landscaped. Apologies for the skip but we have undertaken an extensive refurbishment of the lounge & dining area, please visit soon and let me know your thoughts. Kindest regards Jackie & team.

Ivybank Care Home is the home I selected for my father. I was interested in a carehome which was well run, good management, good team with lots of services and activities. Ivybank provides all this. Most importantly Ivybank team really care about the residents and I have seen the family atmosphere they
create. My father loves it here and is well cared for. I definitely made the right choice.

I'm thoroughly satisfied with how the manager addressed my concerns regarding my brothers' care. The staff is generally friendly and helpful. However, I'm a bit disappointed with the recent activities. Nevertheless, I believe this is something the care home can improve upon.

My 92 year old mum moved to Vale View Heights in June, following a fall that left her with a broken arm, head injury and the inability to walk. Two months later, the staff at Vale View have cared and actively provided rehabilitation for my mum. She is now walking and enjoying life again. Thank you so
much! The leadership at Vale View is fantastic, they know everything that goes on with every person.

Eastleigh Care Homes (Minehead)

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My elderly brother has been a permanent resident for six months. The Nursing Home Manager (Louise)
fully understood his complex needs from the outset and all the nurses/carers have showed amazing kindness constantly. The place has a warm, friendly feel and there are so many activities on offer for
the residents , if they wish to join in. The thoughtful touches like ice creams given every afternoon in heatwaves and delicious looking cakes randomly offered to the residents are a real treat for my brother, who chooses to remain in his room , but these extras always bring a smile to his face!
I live a distance away, but can phone anytime and I am updated on his meds etc every four weeks too.
The staff are always very honest about my brother and give me full updates on his condition , which is much appreciated.
Am so very glad I chose Eastleigh Minehead and would highly recommend to anyone considering it for their loved ones.

My mom was a resident at Oldbury Grange and was looked after impeccably during her time there. My only wish is that she had been there longer, but, sadly, she passed away.
I called in today to see the staff and Jodie, with my friend who isn't happy with the care her in-laws are receiving in a care
home in Wolverhampton. She was delighted to see the beauty of the building and grounds. The sign says pop in for a cuppa, no appointment needed. This speaks volumes. Jodie and several staff members who remembered me made Deb and I very welcome. Hopefully Deb will be able to move her in-laws down there once there's suitable rooms available for them.
I honestly can't rate Oldbury Grange high enough.
Well done Jodie and your team. Your genuine care and compassion is second to none. Thankyou for all you do , you are amazing!
