My Mother was a resident for nearly three years. She was happy there, and joined the numerous activities when she was able to.
During our visits, we received a warm welcome from the staff, which was much appreciated. Team members always popped in to make sure all was ok, and to say hello to Mum and
to us.
As she became more frail, Beryl was treated with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect.
Her room was always warm and well looked after, and her care was outstanding.
The whole team are brilliant, thank you all.

We can't fault the care provided to our father by the staff during his stay at Churchill House. He was made to feel welcome and comfortable, as were his family, right from the start. All the staff showed genuine care and consideration towards him and attended to all his wishes and needs with utmost
respect and kindness. We can't thank them enough.

On Wednesday 16th July, the residents were treated to an absolutely amazing afternoon tea, presented in a way you would expect in a 5 star hotel. Enjoyed by all... Prepared by very talented staff. My father receives care I could only of dreamed of for him. All the staff treat everyone with kindness,
compassion & respect they deserve. They all go the extra mile. Thank you.

My father moved into Churchill House after a stay in hospital, and we could not be more pleased with how much the staff tried to help him settle in and feel comfortable in the environment. Any concerns we had were quickly addressed, and communication was excellent. We always found Churchill to be a
cheerful place, and staff always attentive and respectful towards residents. Any medical attention needed was always provided promptly from Dad's own GP surgery. The range of activities was great, Dad joined in when he could, and we always saw residents enjoying themselves whenever we visited. In my opinion we could not have asked for better care for Dad during his final months, and especially the final days.

My father moved to Churchill House in April 2025 and was made very welcome, as were all our family. The staff soon got to know Dad and his ways, and made a real effort to welcome us on our visits. They got to know us very quickly too, despite us not being very regular visitors.
Communication was great,
and we were kept up to date with any difficulties Dad may have been having, as well as being able to see the residents' enjoying activities via their Facebook page updates!
Dad sadly passed away peacefully after only 7 weeks at Churchill House and the staff dealt with this in a very sensitive kind way. We felt like they really cared for him in the truest sense, rather than just carrying out their caring duties.
We can't thank them enough for the care they showed Dad in making his last weeks as calm and comfortable as they could be, as well as the support they gave us at a difficult time.

Throughout my father's stay at Churchill House Care Home, he has been treated with warmth, friendship, respect and consideration. The staff are outstanding both in the support of my father and communications with the family. My father would be described as a character with his own peculiar needs. The
staff did their very best to accommodate his needs and treat him as an individual. His final days were spent being treated with dignity and sensitivity. We could not have asked for better care and would recommend this care home to anyone.

My husband became a resident in January 2024. He has recently passed away and I can honestly say the care has been first class.
All of the staff have been, kind, friendly and often going above and beyond their duty to help. My family and I have called in at various times on different days. The home
has always be clean and well cared for. We were certainly all treated as part of the Churchill family.
Loved the gardens as well.
My husband passed away peacefully in a clean comfortable bed. Never alone.
We thank every single member of staff, whatever their duty, for the care they showed us all.

My husband was here for two weeks of respite and all seemed well. The staff were very friendly and it seemed clean. It was very expensive at £1700 per week. When I picked him up he smelt of sweat and dirty clothes. I packed carefully, labelling everything but hardly any of it came back. New tee shirts,
new socks and trousers, almost nothing returned. I was shocked. I had to have the window open in the car on the way home, he smelt so awful. At first, I thought I'd put him back for more respite but I'd rather he was in the garage than in this place.

My brother came to Churchill House in May 2023 and was immediately made welcome. Unfortunately he had Myeloma and Parkinsons, so his health gradually deteriorated, but all times he was well supported and cared for. They were very thorough in ensuring that his health issues were monitored and helped
facilitate trips to hospital for treatment.
All the staff showed great kindness and empathy towards my brother. Senior Nurse, always lightened his mood with her cheery humour and was of great comfort during his final days.
Also we were always greeted in a friendly manner by all the staff and made to feel welcome whenever we called. We were also kept up to date with his health issues and how he was feeling.
Whilst no one wants to end up in a care home, I would be happy to go to Churchill House if I needed to in the future.
I would like to thank all the staff at Churchill House for the excellent care they provided to my brother.

Our Mum went to Churchill House for palliative care, where she could receive a consistent level of care in a friendly welcoming environment. Churchill House delivered this care to an excellent level, she couldn't have wished for more given her condition. A very friendly team, and nothing was too much
trouble.

My mother has been a resident for nearly a year and from the moment she arrived, she was greeted with warmth and kindness. The team immediately addressed her medical needs and went above and beyond to get her the right treatment. The change in her has been remarkable - Mum feels so at home here and
there is a lovely family atmosphere. She takes part in all the activities and has been given the role of guinea pig supervisor which she is very proud of.
The building and Mum's room are always very well cared for and clean and tidy.
I have nothing but praise for the staff who treat Mum with such respect and patience. They have all gone above and beyond to help her settle and have also welcomed me into the Churchill family!
We feel very lucky that we found Churchill House.

My mum had lived in Churchill house for over 5 years. She passed away there last Friday. Her care throughout her time there was exceptional all the nursing and ancillary staff were compassionate, friendly, caring and professional. My brother and I both worked as health care professionals (over 80 years
between us) and he now commissions care services, we were both impressed by the excellence of the care she received in Churchill House and I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Residents have multiple activities to take part in over the week and these activities do actually take place. Sadly in the last two years, Mum was bedbound but there was no restriction on when I or my brother could visit which meant a lot as we could just pop in to see her.
The facilities internally and externally are very well cared for and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. I am not sure that I can put easily into words how well cared for my mum was other than to say outstanding and thank you.

My friend is a resident at Churchill House, I visit her every week. I must say that I enjoy spending time there. The atmosphere is always so welcoming, the lounge has lovely guinea pigs that we love watching and I can see that one lady in particular takes good care of them! We sometimes sit in the garden
which is a pleasant place to be, we laugh at the maintenance man who is always friendly. Based upon my experience as a visitor and what my friend has told me, I would recommend Churchill House.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.705)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.705) out of 10 for Churchill House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.705 for Churchill House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (211 Excellents x 5) + (50 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (4 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 271 Ratings = 4.705
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Churchill House Care Home is based on 22 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 62 registered maximum number of service users is 12.4, which has been reached with 22 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
