My mum has settled very well into the care home due to the quality of care and support she has received. She has built up positive connections with the staff caring for her and other residents, which has been wonderful to see! Mum really enjoys the activities and meals each day - both are great opportunities
for socialising and stimulation. From my first visit, I felt the care home had a 'family' feel to it and was the right place for mum to be - our experience fully reflects this. I am so grateful for the support, care and experiences that mum is receiving at Ashbourne Court.

Overall impression of staff, from reception, management, to care assistance and nursing staff is overwhelmingly positive. To put it simply, it's clear they care about the welfare of the residents. Where it lets itself down, in activities, many don't seem to happen, there are not that many or a good
range.

My mother has had two weeks of post op respite. The team of staff nurses, manager, healthcare assistants and caring staff have all been kind, caring, professional and offer a safe environment for individualised care. The team of activities coordinators made every effort for my mum to join in meaningful

The care at Ashbourne Court was very good on the dementia floor. The team are excellent. The furniture and sanitary ware are a bit tired and I found the new management company unpleasant and uncaring after my mother died. I worry that this new company will adversely affect the reputation of Ashbourne.

My sister had been with Ashbourne Court for 5 years 1st in care and then nursing, she could not have had better treatment, the nursing staff really looked after her.

The management and staff of Ashbourne Court Care Home have been very helpful in helping my aunt settle in regarding her respite care. She is now going to become a permanent resident as she has settled in very well due to making her feel welcome and cared for.

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone seeking care for their loved ones. My Mum has been a resident for just over a year and all the staff have been amazing with her.
She looks healthier than she has in years now she is eating well and after being lonely living at home she now has friends
and is always chatting away with someone or joining in the activities.
She did not want to be in a care home, but her dementia meant it was necessary. Making that decision for a loved one is incredibly hard, but the team at Ashbourne also helped me on that journey and I can't thank them enough.
My Gran was also at Ashbourne for several years.

Professionally well-run care home, where nothing is too much trouble. My Father enjoyed his time here very much. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody with elderly relatives who need the love, care, and help they need in their later years.

We have found the care and dedication of all the to be exceptional standard. The nurse in charge of my mother's care keeps us regularly updated on our mother's health and well-being.
The manager and his team are all friendly and helpful.

My wife is well looked after with respect and dignity. The staff keep us up-to-date even though we are in every day, they still keep us all informed. The home is clean and the staff lovely and caring. She is unable to participate in activities but there is always something going on. She is quite poorly
and we are very happy that she is being looked after so well.

I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Mum is being well looked after. She is kept nice and clean, her general health is being closely monitored and the family get regular telephone updates, which we appreciate.
The home provide a lot of varied activities which we would like Mum to
participate in. The staff also share this desire and actively provide her with a lot of encouragement to become involved.

My mother who has dementia, has been at Ashbourne Court for about 16 months. After a two-week visit for respite care, we saw how well she settled and decided that it was the right kind of environment for her long-term care. The staff are very caring and take very good care of her. She is very content
in her surroundings and enjoys the activities which are varied and well organised. The food is very good, nutritious and varied and Mum is very much a fan. The nursing team always keep me up to date with any medical developments and I feel that she is in a safe and trusted environment which caters very well for her needs.

My auntie was a resident of Ashbourne Court for sixteen months and has recently passed away. During her stay she was given excellent first-class care and was treated with dignity and respect by all the staff and carers.
Any medical needs were dealt with immediately with the family always informed and
kept up to date.
I cannot thank all of the staff at Ashbourne Court enough for their care, help and commitment. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident of the home for 1 year she absolutely loves it. It was difficult for the first couple of days, but since then, she has been adamant she is not moving again. The staff are fantastic and she thinks of them as her family. My mother has dementia but feels totally at home. My
mum's room is beautiful, clean the food is very good and the activity team are great. We held a birthday party last year with all the residents invited, and the support from the activities manager was amazing. 100% recommend this home

Ashbourne Court Care Home is very helpful and stepped in over a weekend to support my elderly grandmother when no other care home within a 30 mile radius (40+) would help.
The team are very friendly and provides an excellent and attentive level of care.
My grandmother had never been in a care home
setting before and was made at home which helped her to settle in very well.

Job Title: Home Manager

“You cannot provide the best care by simply reading from a book. You need a kind and caring heart to deliver this. It’s much more than a job and it’s so rewarding when you fulfil the needs of residents.”

Raj has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for 20 years and joined Ashbourne Court in 2011. He is a Registered Nurse, who is passionate about elderly care.


What do you enjoy most about your job?
As a nurse, I really enjoy caring for the elderly, so I knew working as the Manager for Ashbourne Court would be a good fit and extremely rewarding. I really enjoy being responsible for organising care that is specifically tailored to residents’ needs. It’s fantastic how the team work together and I really appreciate the support in place to deliver high-quality care to residents.


What are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?
I consider myself an amateur photographer and enjoy playing cricket.


Are there any highlights in your career you are particularly proud of?
I am incredibly proud of our home achieving an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ in our latest CQC report in 2019, and being recognised as an outstanding care home manager!

What are your Qualifications?
I worked as a student nurse at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Once I had qualified, I worked as a nurse before becoming a deputy manager at a care home and then progressed to be a home manager.
