The resident has been at this residential home for only 2 weeks and up to now all staff are courteous and kind towards my mother. The home is warm and inviting and I know my mother is very happy here.

I would highly recommend this care home to anyone seeking care for their loved ones. My Mum has been a resident for just over a year and all the staff have been amazing with her.
She looks healthier than she has in years now she is eating well and after being lonely living at home she now has friends and is always chatting away with someone or joining in the activities.
She did not want to be in a care home, but her dementia meant it was necessary. Making that decision for a loved one is incredibly hard, but the team at Ashbourne also helped me on that journey and I can't thank them enough.

My Gran was also at Ashbourne for several years.

Professionally well-run care home, where nothing is too much trouble. My Father enjoyed his time here very much. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anybody with elderly relatives who need the love, care, and help they need in their later years.

We have found the care and dedication of all the to be exceptional standard. The nurse in charge of my mother's care keeps us regularly updated on our mother's health and well-being.
The manager and his team are all friendly and helpful.

The home is kept spotlessly clean with a homely and friendly feel.

My wife is well looked after with respect and dignity. The staff keep us up-to-date even though we are in every day, they still keep us all informed. The home is clean and the staff lovely and caring. She is unable to participate in activities but there is always something going on. She is quite poorly and we are very happy that she is being looked after so well.

I have found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
Mum is being well looked after. She is kept nice and clean, her general health is being closely monitored and the family get regular telephone updates, which we appreciate.

The home provide a lot of varied activities which we would like Mum to participate in. The staff also share this desire and actively provide her with a lot of encouragement to become involved.

My mother who has dementia, has been at Ashbourne Court for about 16 months. After a two-week visit for respite care, we saw how well she settled and decided that it was the right kind of environment for her long-term care. The staff are very caring and take very good care of her. She is very content in her surroundings and enjoys the activities which are varied and well organised. The food is very good, nutritious and varied and Mum is very much a fan. The nursing team always keep me up to date with any medical developments and I feel that she is in a safe and trusted environment which caters very well for her needs.

My auntie was a resident of Ashbourne Court for sixteen months and has recently passed away. During her stay she was given excellent first-class care and was treated with dignity and respect by all the staff and carers.
Any medical needs were dealt with immediately with the family always informed and kept up to date.

I cannot thank all of the staff at Ashbourne Court enough for their care, help and commitment. Thank you.

My mother has been a resident of the home for 1 year she absolutely loves it. It was difficult for the first couple of days, but since then, she has been adamant she is not moving again. The staff are fantastic and she thinks of them as her family. My mother has dementia but feels totally at home. My mum's room is beautiful, clean the food is very good and the activity team are great. We held a birthday party last year with all the residents invited, and the support from the activities manager was amazing. 100% recommend this home

Ashbourne Court Care Home is very helpful and stepped in over a weekend to support my elderly grandmother when no other care home within a 30 mile radius (40+) would help.
The team are very friendly and provides an excellent and attentive level of care.

My grandmother had never been in a care home setting before and was made at home which helped her to settle in very well.

I would, together with my sister, wife and family like to thank all at Ashbourne for their care, kindness, friendship and the happy atmosphere created for my father whilst he was in the care home. He made many friends and joined in the events. Even trying Bingo for the first time in his life which he really enjoyed. Many thanks to each and every one of you.

Mum was in Ashbourne Court for 10 months. She was first here after a hospital stay following a fall that resulted in a broken hip. Mum had dementia that meant she didn't learn to walk after her fall. Everybody at Ashgrove Court treated Mum with absolute respect. Her needs were assessed and she was cared for accordingly. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashbourne Court.

For the period that my husband has been at Ashbourne Court Care Home, he has been happy and, though because of distance and Covid (long) I don't visit as often as possible, I find the home well-run and happy. Thank you.

Dad was a resident of Ashbourne Court for 3 years from October 2019. The staff at the home have always been excellent both with my father and also with me. The activities team are particularly engaging and made a real effort to include all residents. As Dad deteriorated and was unable to join in with the general activities, they spent time with him individually to keep him engaged. The nursing staff were also excellent and always spent time with me explaining any issues or concerns. I would highly recommend the home both for the standard of care and for the friendliness and caring demeanour of the staff.

Rajeesh AyyappanJob Title:Home Manager
“You cannot provide the best care by simply reading from a book. You need a kind and caring heart to deliver this. It’s much more than a job and it’s so rewarding when you fulfil the needs of residents.”

Raj has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for 20 years and joined Ashbourne Court in 2011. He is a Registered Nurse, who is passionate about elderly care.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

As a nurse, I really enjoy caring for the elderly, so I knew working as the Manager for Ashbourne Court would be a good fit and extremely rewarding. I really enjoy being responsible for organising care that is specifically tailored to residents’ needs. It’s fantastic how the team work together and I really appreciate the support in place to deliver high-quality care to residents.

What are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?

I consider myself an amateur photographer and enjoy playing cricket.

Are there any highlights in your career you are particularly proud of?

I am incredibly proud of our home achieving an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ in our latest CQC report in 2019, and being recognised as an outstanding care home manager!

What do you feel is your biggest achievement outside of your career?

What are your Qualifications?

I worked as a student nurse at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Once I had qualified, I worked as a nurse before becoming a deputy manager at a care home and then progressed to be a home manager.
