Ashbourne Court provided my mum with excellent care throughout her residency. They always treated her with kindness, were always happy and thought the world of her. We were always made welcome whenever we visited and phoned immediately if any problem arose. I cannot thank them enough.

I would, together with my sister, wife and family like to thank all at Ashbourne for their care, kindness, friendship and the happy atmosphere created for my father whilst he was in the care home. He made many friends and joined in the events. Even trying Bingo for the first time in his life which

Mum was in Ashbourne Court for 10 months. She was first here after a hospital stay following a fall that resulted in a broken hip. Mum had dementia that meant she didn't learn to walk after her fall. Everybody at Ashgrove Court treated Mum with absolute respect. Her needs were assessed and she was cared
for accordingly. I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashbourne Court.

For the period that my husband has been at Ashbourne Court Care Home, he has been happy and, though because of distance and Covid (long) I don't visit as often as possible, I find the home well-run and happy. Thank you.

Dad was a resident of Ashbourne Court for 3 years from October 2019. The staff at the home have always been excellent both with my father and also with me. The activities team are particularly engaging and made a real effort to include all residents. As Dad deteriorated and was unable to join in with
the general activities, they spent time with him individually to keep him engaged. The nursing staff were also excellent and always spent time with me explaining any issues or concerns. I would highly recommend the home both for the standard of care and for the friendliness and caring demeanour of the staff.

My darling husband was a resident at Ashbourne Court Care Home for just over 2 years until his recent death in June 2022. During all that time he received amazing care and nursing. There was never a time I doubted he was being looked after by dedicated nursing staff and carers. Their compassion and
friendliness extended to me and my family, who, once the Covid restrictions were lifted, were always made welcome. My thanks are very sincere. And I shall always be pleased to recommend this wonderful place.

Dad moved to Ashbourne Court, Andover in November 2021. Despite being unsure about the move from his own house, he was immediately made very welcome and loved his new home. The staff are warm, caring, and excellent at communicating with the family. I really appreciated the photos of Dad's activities,
especially during lockdown when we could not visit. Sadly, Dad's stay was shorter than we had hoped, but when his time came the staff and management at Ashbourne not only catered for his needs but offered much-needed support to me and the rest of my family. I highly recommend Ashbourne Court as a care home and would like to thank them for all that they did for us.

Ashbourne Court is such a lovely caring place, not only to their residents but to family too. I always feel welcome when I visit. The staff take time to talk to me and update me on how my cousin has been on a day-to-day basis. The management team are always available to talk through any concerns too.
My cousin is very happy at Ashbourne Court. I particularly appreciate their use of social media to keep me up to date with the activities going on in the home and I love seeing photos of my cousin, especially while visiting is restricted due to Covid.

Mum was taken to Ashbourne Court for respite care in January 2021. She became a resident in February 2021. The care that she and us as a family had was always 100%. We would recommend Ashbourne Court to everyone looking for care for their loved one. Mum loved her pamper session and we never knew what
a budding artist she was. There is something happening there every day and the family Facebook page has been lovely. Big thanks to you all.

My father is currently a resident at Ashbourne Court and has consistently received the best quality of care. All of the staff are professional, experts in their field and very hard working. Dad is looked after; we are involved in all decisions. The staff engage Dad in activities and treat him as an
individual. My mum also lived here, in the months preceding her death. I shall never forget the compassion afforded to my mum as she died; the nurses at Ashbourne were so kind and it was all so dignified. My family was so grateful for the support of all the staff, at this difficult time. Every member of the team is approachable, friendly and helpful. This is a home from home; the rooms are very well presented and the food is good. I am so grateful to all the staff and management for providing both of my parents with such a safe and consistently excellent place to live, when they needed the care that they couldn’t get in their own home. We thoroughly recommend this care home.

Although Dad lived in Andover, we are from out of the area and were given Ashbourne Court by the Palliative Care Team. From the traumatic day he moved in until his passing 17 days later with terminal cancer, Dad received nothing but the best possible treatment and care from everyone he met. I have nothing
but the highest possible praise for the entire staff at Ashbourne. They were caring, attentive, incredibly accommodating and helpful to our family, and utterly dignified as well as professional in the way they dealt with his passing. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Being well used to many local care homes myself 75 miles from Andover via our Church work, I would readily and heartily recommend Ashbourne Court without hesitation.

I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the whole place and the care and friendliness of all the staff I had contact with. I did comment that the crisp white bed linen was whiter than mine at home! Whenever I phone to enquire about the welfare of my godmother, I am always met with considerate,

Ashbourne Court have provided excellent care for my father during the last year. They have also provided additional support by doing extra activities for residents. The activities team have been invaluable in providing video calls to keep us in touch with my Dad. Everyone at Ashbourne is brilliant!

Our family could not be happier with the amazing care my dad receives at Ashbourne Court. All the staff are caring, professional and attentive to my dad's many care needs. They not only look after him, but also us as a family. They have dealt with the covid pandemic admirably and kept communications,
video calls and visits going as much as possible. They understand our worries and feelings and keep us informed at all times. The staff feel like friends. I have nothing but praise for their hard work.

My mother spent 9 years in Ashbourne Court. Despite her dementia, she always seemed settled and happy in the home. During those nine years, the ownership of the home changed and some staff left and were replaced but throughout her stay, whoever dealt with her did so with empathy and care at all times.
In summary, Ashbourne Court, its management and staff did everything we hoped for from a care home.

Throughout the two years my mother resided at Ashbourne Court, her needs were always catered for, and nothing was too much trouble. Her dementia progressed, and all the staff always ensured she was comfortable, assessed and new care plans put in place. We were kept regularly updated and even more so
during the COVID-19 peak, which they all dealt with so courageously. I couldn't thank them all enough for their compassion and care. Highly recommended.

As an Italian family our 'nona' is our heart and soul. Watching our matriarch say her long and sad goodbye through the effects of dementia is truly heartbreaking for us all. Therefore, handing over her care to strangers was the most difficult of decisions, especially during a pandemic. That meant we
couldn't hold her hand, stroke her hair and tell her it was all going to be ok. I don't think that should ever be taken for granted. This process is huge for families, such an emotional time, but, it could have been a million times worse had it not been for Ashbourne Court. We are blessed to have found such a wonderful home, full of what can only be described as a team of earth angels. We will forever be in their debt. When we couldn't be there, they were, for every single moment of her time spent with them. My nona knew she was loved, cared for and safe even when we could tell her that. How blooming amazing!

Job Title: Home Manager

“You cannot provide the best care by simply reading from a book. You need a kind and caring heart to deliver this. It’s much more than a job and it’s so rewarding when you fulfil the needs of residents.”

Raj has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for 20 years and joined Ashbourne Court in 2011. He is a Registered Nurse, who is passionate about elderly care.


What do you enjoy most about your job?
As a nurse, I really enjoy caring for the elderly, so I knew working as the Manager for Ashbourne Court would be a good fit and extremely rewarding. I really enjoy being responsible for organising care that is specifically tailored to residents’ needs. It’s fantastic how the team work together and I really appreciate the support in place to deliver high-quality care to residents.


What are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?
I consider myself an amateur photographer and enjoy playing cricket.


Are there any highlights in your career you are particularly proud of?
I am incredibly proud of our home achieving an overall rating of ‘Outstanding’ in our latest CQC report in 2019, and being recognised as an outstanding care home manager!

What are your Qualifications?
I worked as a student nurse at the University of the West of England, Bristol. Once I had qualified, I worked as a nurse before becoming a deputy manager at a care home and then progressed to be a home manager.
