View Full Details of Hunters LodgeMy Father was diagnosed with Ahlzeimers in 2024, having placed Dad in another local home it became apparent that with Dad only being 69, he was to active and aware of his surroundings than the home were equipped to deal with and his stay became very uncomfortable for him and us as a family. We feel both grateful and lucky to have found the team at Hunters Lodge, they immediately assured us they could accommodate and work with Dad given he was still very active and had not lost his sense of humour. We immediately witnessed a positive change and through care, patience and understanding of the welfare needs he became incredibly comfortable and happy in this environment and in turn so did we. His level of care and the dedication shown towards him was faultless, the environment is fun, bright, clean and enjoyable for residents and families. Sadly Dad passed in August, we were truly humbled by the care, diligence, compassion and accommodating nature. We could not recommend more highly
The most amazing, caring staff, nothing is ever too much trouble. The care they gave to my mother has been wonderful . Every member of staff are all so gentle, patient, never stressed or rushed. Their communication with us couldn't be faulted. An extremely good care home, couldn't recommend them highly enough to any relatives wishing to give their loved ones the best care!
We have been so impressed with Hunters Lodge since my frail Mother was admitted 7 weeks ago. The staff have gone to great lengths to tailor care to my mother's needs, the staff are excellent, the food is always hot and delicious, and she has been treated with great kindness. The staff went above and beyond to organise and host a wonderful afternoon tea for my mother's 100th birthday, which she thoroughly enjoyed. It makes a great difference to my sisters and I to know she is in good hands.
Amazing caring staff, nothing ever to much trouble. The care given to my mother has been unbelievable. Every member of staff are all so gentle, patient, genuine never stressed or rushed. A very special home, would highly recommend to any relatives wishing to give their love ones the best.
Dad's room is kept clean and tidy, and all the staff I have met have been kind and courteous at all times. Any questions I have had have been dealt with promptly. The kitchen does remarkably with the variety of food, and the attention they pay to each clients individual diet. I am very happy that dad is at Hunters Lodge because of the quality of care he receives.
My grandfather is really well looked after and cared for here and wouldn't want him anywhere else. Since residing at the care home, he's much more settled and doesn't want to leave which is lovely to see. The carers are always making sure residents are happy, fed and well presented. Rooms are well maintained and cleaned to a high standard. The food selection on offer is outstanding and the care is amazing. They, not only, give amazing care and attention to the residents but also care and look out for the wider family too. Nothing is too much for anyone and I am always welcomed with a smile. Makes visiting an enjoyable experience and means you are getting quality time with your loved one.
Our mum has been a resident at Hunters Lodge for several months and we've been really pleased with the experience. The rooms are recently furbished, it's very clean, the standard of care and attention to detail is high and the food excellent and varied. The staff are kind and helpful. Highly recommend.
On the 25th of March 2024, my wife became a resident at Hunters Lodge. During the past 3 months, I have visited her most days and I cannot fault the care and attention that she receives. The staff are all very friendly, caring, and welcoming, the food is great, (and plenty of it) and the overall ambience is bright, airy, and refreshing. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hunters to anyone needing similar care.
I have visited many care homes in a professional capacity over the years, some were good and some were dire to say the least. Hunters Lodge is in a class of its own, as it is extremely good. When my mother first arrived at the home she was reluctant to stay and let me know of her displeasure and of course I was reluctant to leave her there. However over time she has become a different person, and appears to thrive well amongst people of her own age. The food at the home is very good (non-residents can have a meal with their loved ones) and I would recommend anyone who has the chance to do so, it gives residents a sense of normalcy. I have observed the staff and how they interact with residents and I am comfortable leaving my mum in their charge. I have also observed how certain health and safety issues (including fire safety) and these are dealt with well within compliance. I thank management and staff for a job well done.
My aunty is a resident in this care home, we first visited her there in February for a Birthday party with my cousins (her children). The staff made us very comfortable and were very welcoming, they had made all the food including a birthday cake. Since our visit, my aunty has been interacting with the other service users and seems very happy in the home's environment. We are regularly updated via pictures taken by my cousins and sister when they visit on a regular basis. I would like to pass on my sincere thanks to all the staff and management for the works that they have undertaken on behalf of my aunty and the excellent care of the other service users within the home, that I have observed. Well done.
Hunters Lodge works extremely hard to make sure their residents are well looked after. The staff are always ready to greet you with a smile and nothing is ever too much trouble. It’s been lovely to be so welcomed as a family.
Very welcoming friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. Love the special events put on for friends family and residents. Very caring ,long serving staff ... looking forward to spending time in the lovely outside surroundings.
I cannot praise every single member of staff at Hunters Lodge highly enough. Please believe me that they are carers not just staff who work there. My beloved husband has just passed away after 2 years of residency there. During that time his needs changed considerably but every change was catered for and I was consulted about them. He was looked after with respect and genuine warmth. I was always made to feel very welcome and indeed I intend to visit to support any forthcoming events. I am so grateful to you all at Hunters Lodge for making both of our lives as best they could be throughout this time.
It was the hardest thing in the world to have to place my Mum into a care home last November, after being told by professionals that she was no longer able to live alone. From the moment I was shown around Hunters Lodge, I knew that this was the place for Mum. It's so light and clean, the meals are of excellent standard and the staff that I have met have all been exceptional. The garden is lovely, with safe paths and Mum has been delighted with the entertainment and the surprise of arranged animal visits! I am just so pleased that Hunters Lodge was found in time. The worry never goes away but it does lessen knowing that Mum is in the hands of such caring and dedicated staff.
My dad has been at Hunters for 4 months now following a couple of respite stays. We knew from his first stay that this was the right place for him when he needed full-time care. The staff are all amazing and take such fantastic care of Dad and go over and above to make sure he is safe and happy. Dad's needs have changed since his arrival and every adjustment that has been required has been handled with care and dignity. All of my family that visit every week are made to feel welcome and included and has allowed us to make more memories while we can. We can’t thank the whole team enough for everything they do every single day for Dad and our family. I can’t recommend Hunters enough for what they do every single day.
My mother came to Hunters Lodge for respite following a stay in hospital with symptoms associated with delirium. She was treated with kindness and respect at all times and I found the staff to be professional and cheerful. On the many occasions I visited, I was always welcomed with a smile and a cup of tea! If you are looking for a Home for a loved one who has dementia or a similar diagnosis I would not hesitate to recommend Hunters Lodge.
My father was a resident for two years, and during that time, he was full of praise for the care and attention he received. While he was able to, he always reassured us that he was very well looked after and that the food was always plentiful and very good. We found the staff to be very caring and cheerful. Thank you for all you did for my father.
A lovely care home with the kindest staff. Always cheerful and thoughtful in difficult circumstances. My mother has been in Hunters Lodge since the beginning of the year and I could not have wished for better care. My father spends time with her and he always receives excellent care and always feels very welcome. A big thank you to all the wonderful staff.
Hunters Lodge have been so supportive in the process of finding my Mum her new home. The professionalism, care and attention they have shown throughout has been amazing. Special thanks should go to the staff for making Mum and us so welcome. An amazing experience - thank you to the whole team.
My mother was transferred to Hunters Lodge having been neglected and uncared for at a previous care home. Within half an hour of arriving at Hunters Lodge, Mum was settled with a cup of tea and biscuits. I cannot fault this home. The staff are so caring and compassionate towards every resident. Since arriving at Hunters Lodge the change in my Mum has been amazing. The home is of a very high standard and kept so clean and most importantly all the staff provide a high standard of care. The home is excellent at communicating with the family and keeping us fully informed. For the first time in 4 years, we felt relaxed enough to go on a holiday knowing the care being provided is excellent and Mum was being well looked after and cared for. I would highly recommend this home.
