View Full Details of St Vincents Retirement HomeMy mother had 3 wonderful years there and enjoyed life to the full. She joined in all the activities, theme parties, outings, meals, shopping trips and celebrations and so did we. She felt she had come home. Mum was so happy there. She was never lonely, frightened or left unattended when she needed help, unlike previous places she had to endure. She felt valued. Mum died in March 2025. The end of life care, headed by manager was outstanding. Her room was transformed to a calm, peaceful sanctuary by the manager. Mum slipped away over 2 days. We stayed with her for most of the hours, the staff all popped in to see her, and brought her residential friends in to chat, she was not alone at the end. We felt supported and cared for throughout by the staff. They let us give a celebration of her life at the home with all her family, friends, residents and staff present. It was a joyous day, despite the tears. I wish everyone could be looked after as well as Mum was. The home is OUTSTANDING.
Staff always friendly and deal promptly with queries. The home is always presented in a clean nd tidy manner.
A very friendly and comfortable 'home' with lovely garden, which I would recommend.
My mum was always treated with dignity and was very content at St. Vincent's. The COVID era was a very challenging time for her, but the manager and her staff did their upmost to keep the residents safe and buoyed up. I cannot find anything even remotely negative to say. Even when mum was difficult, She was treated with respect and listened to.. She had a peaceful death, in her room, which is what she wanted. Thank you so much.
I cannot praise St Vincent's too highly. My sister was a very happy president. The care and compassion was exemplary both to her needs and my emotional support. She enjoyed all the varied activities and trips out in the bus. I just felt nothing was too much trouble. Saint Vincent's is really part of the community and invite friends and relatives to all their activities. I am myself quite happy to be a resident there if and when I need this.
