Mum was admitted 8th April as an emergency admission. Administration and financial assessment was swift and efficient. Prior medical assessment was detailed and highly competent. Our plan had been a standard admission but as Mum was rapidly deteriorating care home accelerated admission. Mum was in
nursing wing for two weeks and at every stage we were extremely satisfied with the care, including the final end of life stage which was dignified. Difficult to find fault. Thank you.

My husband went into Rockdale House in September 2025. He is bedridden but stillhas his mental faculties. He needs constant nursing care which is given by professional, caring and pleasant staff. He is content and I am grateful. The whole atmosphere in the home is positive and friendly which is most
important.

I would definitely recommend Rockdale House to anyone looking for a caring, fun place to live, either for themselves or for a relation. I loved the time I spent with my mother there over nearly three years until she passed away in December 2025. They looked after my mother very well and consulted
the family over any concerns or ideas they had for making her stay easier for her. The staff and carers became like an extended family, chatting to them and allowing me to join my mother in taking part in the activities when visiting her was such a blessing.

Rockdale Care Home has been part of our family since my mother moved in in 2015, and we've seen many changes over the years. Under the current management of Jo and her team, it has never been better. There is a real focus on continuous improvement, and it shows.
A major positive change is the
consistency of staff-now mostly permanent, creating a warm and familiar environment, unlike before. The activities programme is excellent, with engaging and well-planned activities that have greatly improved residents' quality of life.
The carers are compassionate and professional, maintaining high standards of care. Cleanliness and food are consistently excellent. The admin and reception team are always welcoming, efficient, and helpful.
Overall, Rockdale is now a well-run, caring home, and we feel confident our mother is in very good hands.

My Mum has been at Rockdale House for 3 and a half years and I really cannot fault the care she has received. All the staff are very professional, friendly, caring and attentive. They keep me regularly updated regarding any issues or referrals that may need to be made and when the need arises
they get support from the Home Treatment Team etc. On the occasions that my Mum's health has deteriorated they have gone over and above to provide the additional care she has required and even by checking in on her more regularly it is appreciated. It is comforting to know that she is being well looked after. The food menus always look very varied and I know that they ask for feedback from the residents and ask for any specific requests which is great. The activities also seem to have improved since an Activities Manager has been onboarded.
Thank you to everyone at Rockdale for keeping my Mum safe, well cared for and giving me peace of mind.

My mother has resided at Rockdale for five years now. During this period, she has had several episodes which we didn't think she'd survive. The extraordinary care given by all staff, whatever their role, is exemplary and has certainly aided my mother's recovery each time.
This home is definitely on
an upward surge, thanks to the vision and drive of the 'new' manager. There is an energetic activities team, new deputy and care managers who work tirelessly, a catering team who discuss menus with residents daily and a host of carers who truly care.
Rockdale is a kind and oh so happy place. I doubt that anyone dreams of ending their days in a care or nursing home but if you have to, you couldn't do better than Rockdale. Thank you to everyone who cares so dearly for my mother.

My father took up residence within Rockdale House following the passing of his wife, my mother. From the moment we first visited to his recent sad passing the staff and team were excellent always cheerful accommodating and glad to welcome visitors at all times.
On my regular visits there was always
a welcome smile from the reception team and very quickly a very friendly relationship grew.
The care team were always accessible and available to answer and questions I had.
The care given was always excellent and staff felt comfortable to call me if they had any concerns about my fathers health which was both reassuring and comforting.
There was never a time when a request was not actioned to the extent we managed to get dads old home telephone number connected to his room which was perfect.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Rockdale House as a place where relatives can be comforted that their nearest and dearest will be looked after in a kind and compassionate setting.

Exceptionally caring , friendly , helpful staff nothing is ever too much trouble . From the reception staff right through to the manager everyone has a friendly smile and brilliant attitude and will go the extra mile to help in anyway they can . There are endless activities ranging from talks to art
groups and sing a longs
I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a care/ nursing home

Mum is very happy and content. The carers are friendly and helpful. Management is professional but personal. Communication is good.
Activities are excellently planned and Mum is encouraged to participate.

The facilities are great, staff are go above & beyond and my grandma is incredibly well looked after. The gardens are a happy place to be and the staff are always very accommodating when I bring my children to visit my grandma. Thank you!

The care for my elderly mum was first class, right from the first assessment to sad recent passing. My mother welfare, care and happiness was always their first concern. The staff are extremely kind and efficient; a pleasure to go and spend time with mum in their last days.

Communication between different members of staff could be improved. It depends who is on duty. The idea of walkie talkies is very noisy and upsets my family member. Could they be used more sensitively with thoughtfulness shows how they affect the elderly. But she also accepts that because of the
geographical nature of the building, walkie talkies need to be used. Could there be better training in more sensitive use of them please?

I have been visiting my friend on a regular basis after she moved into Rockdale, the home is fabulous and she is very happy, moving from your own home is a hard transition and the team have made this a smooth and enjoyable process for her I highly recommend this home.

We can't thank the team at Rockdale enough for the incredible care and kindness they showed my aunt during her recent stay. From the moment she arrived, the staff made her feel welcome, supported, and genuinely cared for.
After her respite stay, she returned home looking and feeling like a
completely new person - truly 10 years younger! It's a testament to the exceptional environment, the attention to detail, and the warmth of everyone who works there.
The staff went above and beyond every single day, not just meeting her needs but making her feel part of a real community. The quality of care, the uplifting atmosphere, and the genuine compassion shown have made such a positive impact on her wellbeing.
We are incredibly grateful to Rockdale for giving her the time, care, and encouragement she needed. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding respite care.

My family and I thought the loving care given to my husband was excellent. The staff were all kind, loving and efficient not only to my husband, but to all the visiting family. Nothing was too much trouble. Care staff, cleaners, laundry people and management all deserve our grateful thanks.

I came to visit my sister and I am very happy with the support she is receiving from all. The staff helped when I went to leave I found I had lost my purse, and without the help of the senior support worker, I would not have coped with the phone call to cancel my phone card as I am very deaf.

I visited my friend today about ten days after his admission to Rockdale House. I arrived unannounced and the reception were friendly and helpful. I was shown to my friend's room and I was impressed with the atmosphere and environment of the home. My friend said he was well settled in his new home.
He praised the home's catering and the care given to him by the staff. I left the home feeling reassured that my friend is in good hands!

My relation has been a resident in Rockdale House for nearly two years. The care is excellent and nothing seems too much trouble. Recently she fell and broke her elbow so she has required more personal care which has been provided by all the members of staff so willingly.
