View Full Details of Bethesda Eventide HomesI and my wife have been visiting a resident of Bethesda Eventide Home in Ipswich for about one and a half years and it is by far the best home we have ever been in. As visitors we have recieved a great welcome, and every courtesy. Staff without exception have been brilliant and always have been offered a cup of tea. It appears that nothing is too much trouble
Mum has been at the Ipswich home for almost 3 years, and every time I visit I am impressed all over again with the level of caring and respect the staff have for the residents. They really are treated as family. Mum used to be a carer herself, and always said this was the only home she wanted to go to, and after seeing it for myself I can only agree with her. Thank you for making her happy, for looking after her so well and for our peace of mind knowing she was in a place with such amazing people
My mother-in-law came here in Dec 2024, having lived in her London home until she was 100. She was welcomed in warmly. Inevitably, her needs have become more complex in the 5 months she has been there, but the staff have been so supportive and caring of her. Just yesterday we talked to the visiting GP, who is taking immense pains over trying to balance her medications with her needs, in order to make her as comfortable as possible. All staff, without exception, are well-informed, caring, compassionate, and the home is small enough to really have a feeling of warmth and familiarity between residents, visitors and staff. Meals are great, activities well-planned and varied. There are always decorations up in the communal areas to celebrate different festivals and themes. There are 2 house cats, aquariums, gardens, newly-hatched chicks - we feel so fortunate to have brought my husband's mother here. We couldn't be happier with how carefully they are looking after her.
Outstanding in absolutely all respects for both residents and their families and friends.
Bethesda is a lovely home. It has a wonderful atmosphere and a friendliness that you can feel as soon as you enter the building. The staff are professional and work together brilliantly with kindness, fun and caring to ensure a happy place for the residents. It's a great comfort to know and see that my mother is happy and being well cared for in her new home. Thank you to the staff for all you do.
Our relative was desperate to remain at home but as she lived alone and had worsening dementia she was becoming increasingly unsafe. She was persuaded to visit a few care homes but we weren't hopeful that she'd agree to move. We only got as far as Bethesda Eventide. The manager cleared his diary to show her round and he was quizzed about what happened there. As we took her home she said "I won't find anywhere better, will I?" She moved in a few weeks later. It meant that we were relieved of the pressure of caring for someone with dementia and that we knew she was always safe. She joined in with the many activities in the Home and made new friends (and met up with others she'd known for years). After she became ill the staff continued to care for her until she passed away peacefully in her own bed. She was only in Eventide for just under a year but it made a huge difference to her. At her funeral service we were presented with a scrapbook of memories of her time there.
Mum has been at Bethesda since October, after we moved her from a disappointing home. What a difference! The atmosphere is wonderful. Staff are so respectful, kind, well qualified and caring, but also able to chat and have a laugh. This feels more like a home and Mum talks about the staff and residents like family. Food is excellent, and Mum is constantly telling me how tasty and well cooked it is. Vegetables are perfect and not overdone! Rooms can be a bit small but are cozy and personalised. Facilities are spotlessly clean and the activities are inclusive, varied and thoroughly enjoyable. Every time I visit, the staff relate a story or conversation they had with my Mum. Staff are always popping in to her room or make conversation on our way past. My mother has a very good sense of humour, and the staff has responded to this and made her feel very much at home. I cannot praise the home enough, suffice to say I may put my own name on the waiting list.
My aunt has been a resident of Bethesda Eventide Homes for 2 years now. Having lived in her own home for 70 years, it took her awhile to adjust, however in all this time, the staff have shown her such respect and dignity. She is quite happy to sit and chat to other residents and join in activities if she is interested, otherwise she will just watch the others participate. Whilst she has a small appetite, she enjoys the meals. Finally I cannot finish without praising all the staff on their patience and understanding with all the residents.
A Victorian villa which has been constantly maintained and sensitively extended, Bethesda Eventide Homes offers a caring, friendly environment based on the Christian ethos of Baptist church which founded it but welcoming to all. Adjacent to lovely park, the food is of hotel standard - plentiful and delicious! Activities and themes festivity days are stimulating, fun and lively, designed to occupy and entertain residents and improve their health. The medical needs of residents are sensitively and scrupulously.
Our mum, who is an ex-nurse, was not keen to go to a residential home but ultimately there was no other option. She has been a resident for over a year now and is very, very happy. She only ever has positive things to say about all aspects of her care and my brother and I agree. When I think about Bethesda Eventide Homes, I think about happy faces of both staff and residents and care given respectfully, sensitively, willingly and happily. Thank you Bethesda.
A fantastic care home, it's small and very friendly, no agency staff so the residents and families know the staff well. It is very much a home-from-home for the residents with fantastic care, great variety of activities and super food. Just a brilliant home.
Bethesda Eventide Homes is a warm, friendly, welcoming home. All the staff are smiley, approachable and so very attentive and helpful. We are always greeted by everyone (be they management, carer, laundry or restaurant staff) with a smile and cheerfulness. We are always contacted regarding any concerns they may have with our mum. There are always activities to participate in as well as Christian input if required. A lovely, warm, happy place which we are so grateful for.
Bethesda Eventide Homes is a very warm, caring, friendly home. Everything possible is done to make the residents feel happy and comfortable. Good food and lots of activities. Good upkeep of decor, facilities and grounds.
I’m very impressed with the staff at the home, they are always very friendly and helpful. My mum is very happy staying there!
My mother has been very lucky to be a resident at Bethesda for the last 4 years. She has been very happy there. What makes Bethesda special is the caring attitude of the whole team led by the manager. They go the extra mile to make sure my mother is comfortable and enjoys life. The meals and the entertainment are first class and there is a wonderful family atmosphere. Everyone makes time to chat to residents. They also support the residents' families and we feel part of the home. Only problem is it is an old building and some of the rooms are a bit small.
Generally a well-run home. Mum is always well cared for and is always washed and dressed when I visit. Food is OK, sometimes portions could be larger seems to be a general opinion old people don't eat much? The staff I have had contact with are all friendly and helpful.
I have been involved with Bethesda Eventide Homes for a number of years, previously as a trustee, for the last 4 years as a relative and for the last year as a volunteer too. I sometimes have the privilege of leading a Bible Study in the Homes. The Christian ethos is important and the management and staff work hard to ensure that those wishing to attend such events are assisted as necessary. It is always a pleasure to attend the Homes whether it is just to visit or in a voluntary capacity assisting the activities co-ordinator. The atmosphere is one of family and belonging where support is given to an individual as their needs require. My mum is well cared for and loved by those who care for her. A variety of activities are available to all,(including any who are visiting too). The management are dedicated to providing the best for the residents and their passion for the job is shared by the staff whatever their role, contributing to the warm atmosphere felt when visiting.
I have been a volunteer at Bethesda Eventide Home for 5 1/2 years. My experience has rarely been negative. This home has a sense of family and community, everyone feels that they belong. This is a Christian home, which is evident by the real feeling of peace, acceptance and respect throughout the household. The managers and staff are passionate about their role in this home. The activities provided throughout the year never fail to engage and amuse the residents and their families. This is a fun place to be for sure, where life is treasured to the last and memories are relived and talked about with respect and great interest.
I have visited the home on several occasions since the home opened after lockdown. I have supported the activity coordinator who provides many varied things for the visitors to participate in if desired. I have observed the staff working with the residents. They appear well-trained and are always courteous towards visitors and the residents. I also helped out in the kitchen as the cook was unwell and it was difficult to find a replacement at short notice. I worked with two members of staff who worked extremely hard to ensure the meal was served on time and that nutritional need was met. Both members of staff were well versed in the needs of the residents and ensured that the residents received food that was tasty and looked appetising as well as meeting appropriate nutritional needs. All the home staff are very friendly and always provide a happy atmosphere where residents can reach their potential and live in comfort.
Living in Australia, we can relax knowing that our family member is being well cared for in Bethesda care facilities. The staff can't be recommended highly enough for their professional service mixed with a pleasant manner. Bravo to all.
