View Full Details of Davers CourtI want to take this opportunity to thank the team for excellent help and advice in restoring my sister to much of a level of function of which she had become deprived following a stroke. The staff are extraordinary; well-selected and attentive, and, at times, required to carry out tasks which cannot be pleasant, yet they are unfailingly caring. It is an impressive performance. Staff, including administrative staff, are always available to assist visitors as well as residents. Davers Court is truly a very pleasant and welcoming place. To conclude, I had no conception of what care home life meant and what such an environment might entail, I have not been disappointed.
I cannot fault the care and compassion Davers Court has shown mum in her first month living in care. Mum has dementia and moving her into care has been one of the hardest things I've had to do. The staff at Davers have truly supported her every minute and the holistic care they provide is heartfelt and genuine. The activities on offer to residents is very inclusive and well thought out. Mum loves music and there is often live music on the week, which is encouraged to attend. Mum can be shy to join in; yet staff hold her hand and help her to feel at ease and safe enough to participate. It's so wonderful to see her smile and laugh and dance! Mum's bedroom is warm, clean and well decorated, and can be fasioned as you want it. There are lots of areas mum can go, aside from her room - lounges, the coffee shop (with amazing cakes every day made by the wonderful chef!), and the gardens. Everywhere we go, we are met with smiles, care and kindness. I would 100% recommend Davers Court.
As the son of an 82-year-old dad with dementia, who's thrived at Davers Court in Bury St Edmunds for the past month and ongoing, I wholeheartedly recommend it. The staff's compassionate, person-centred care makes him feel like family, not just a resident. The stunning facilities shine too: award-winning gardens, a cinema for movie nights, an on-site café and salon, home cooked meals plus engaging daily events that keep life vibrant yet gentle and inclusive. The team are always welcoming, enthusiastic and supportive - answering any questions whilst ensuring we're kept up to date through an app and on social media as well as face to face. Dad's confidence and communication has soared, and our family's peace of mind is priceless. If you seek a warm, supportive community, look no further-five stars
I just want to thank staff at Davers Court for all their wonderful support over the last few days when my 97 year old mum fell and hit her head. All the care staff on Orchard suite were so kind, sitting and holding her hand whilst waiting for the paramedics and welcoming her back and helping her to settle in on her return late that night. Similarly both mum and I were well supported when mum became very poorly a few days later and we were all very concerned about her. We were both helped by the kindness and care we received from staff throughout this difficult time. Since mum has been able to walk and eat again whilst remaining very confused, we have been grateful for the help and advice from the Residential lead, Deputy Manager and Manager who are great role models and lead a very good team. A big thank you to you all!
Since moving to Davers Court mum has received excellent care from all members of the staff. There is a wide range of activities including many live music events and trips out. Special national celebrations are always made more special in the home for example VE day and a beach party in the summer. Most importantly the staff communication with families is exemplary. We are included in conversations about care, promptly updated about changes in our mother's condition and always made welcome on the wings and joining in activities. I would recommend this home to other people.
Davers Court is an outstanding care home. My mother has advanced dementia and has been a resident since 2019. She recently had a stay in hospital and returned to the home unwell and confused. The excellent care she received from the Davers Court staff when she returned to them has turned her condition around. She is well, happy and engaged. They pay such attention to detail and take such good care of the residents, I simply cannot thank the staff enough for everything they do.
This home is so good my Mum thinks she is in a hotel ! Great atmosphere , caring supportive and a fun place to be. She is very well looked after ! I was very anxious when I brought Mum here but I needn't have worried - she settled so well and a year later is thriving ! Although the dementia has not gone away my Mum is more talkative, has fun and loves interacting with staff, residents and other relatives. Her carers are very good. She really enjoys the social side, company and entertainment. The lifestyle team are excellent at providing suitable activities and try to do something for everyone - they really put huge effort into pleasing everyone and keeping residents engaged . Their personalities are brilliant for entertaining , engaging and keeping everyone happy( there is always a lot of laughter ) - they along with the rest of the team have made a huge difference to improving Mums quality of life. Seeing her happy is a huge relief and a joy to watch
I want to thank the care team of Orchards suite as they worked diligently to find a precious item of my mum's that helps her to recognise her room. It had been missing and as soon as it was brought to their attention the team leader found it and put it back into the room. The Activities team are just excellent people in their job and bring a happy smile to mum's face when she sees them. It's always a happy home when I go into visit mum. I would highly recommend this care home.
Very happy on all aspects of care. Excellent catering and entertainment is great. You (as a relative) always feel welcomed and informed.
I cannot think of a better place for my brother to be. He simply could not cope on his own at home. All the staff have been extremely kind to him to ensure he is well looked after and supported for all his needs. He told me "they feel like part of the family".
We moved our Mother into Davers Court in January 2025 after a very short wait. The team made the transition so easy and our mother settled in very quickly. The home is warm, inviting, stimulating for all the residents.the food they have is amazing, always a selection on the menu. The staff could not be more helpful, always willing to chat, sort out any queries we might have and go over and beyond their duties. We are kept informed via the app on what is happening, together with an email each week of the activities on offer. We are very happy with the care our mother is getting.
Mum has been in Davers Court for four weeks respite care and we have been very happy with her stay. We have found all staff to be friendly, caring, professional, approachable and helpful. Lovely comfortable clean facilities, the coffee shop is a lovely area to spend time with mum when visiting. Very good menu choices, good variety of activities and entertainment. Most importantly mum has been safe, happy and very well cared for. Thank you.
The care home was very welcoming and the staff were good at introducing themselves and making sure my father was settled and happy. There was a good range of activities to attend and the staff seemed to actively encourage attendance which made for an enjoyable stay.
Since April 2023 we continue to be impressed by all aspects of Davers Court, especially the varied daily activities offered to the residents. The care givers are exceptional, friendly and respectful. We see them encouraging the residents to partake in the social life of Davers Court. There is excellent two way communication between our mother and family members. The atmosphere in the coffee lounge comes across as a very happy place to relax in. Thank you to everyone.
From the moment she arrived, it was clear that the facility is dedicated to providing a nurturing and supportive environment for its residents, especially those living with Dementia. The staff are remarkable. They are not only highly trained and professional but also genuinely compassionate and attentive. The atmosphere of the care home is warm and inviting. The common areas are bright and cheerful, filled with art and decorations that create a home-like feel. Communication has also been a strong point. The management regularly updates us on my mother-in-law and is always available to discuss any concerns. The activities offered are diverse and engaging. There's always something happening that brings joy and social interaction to the residents. The welcoming environment have made this transition much easier for us and, most importantly, for our mother-in-law. We are grateful to have found such a wonderful place that prioritizes the well-being and happiness of its residents.
My Mum has Alzheimer's and with much consideration about the options available she had to move to Davers Court. It was hard in the first week as her Alzheimers was worse to start with but with care from the staff who have so much patience, she is gradually more settled and less confused. She still has Alzheimer's but now has some much brighter days in between the confused ones. Nothing is too much trouble and I have also felt care for myself and assurance that this was the right thing for Mum. Very impressed with how things are going and huge thanks.
Last year we realised our mum in West Sussex could no longer live independently. I live in West London and we made the decision for her to come up to Bury St Edmunds as my sister is there and it's just a 2-hour journey for me to come and stay with her. Initially Mum was in another care home, however, after a few months we were not happy despite raising concerns. A visiting District Nurse recommended Davers Court to us, my sister and I visited and immediately felt the homely atmosphere and saw carers genuinely caring. Mum moved to Davers Court in late August, obviously a bit unsettling for her but everyone has made her so welcome and we can see she's joining in more activities already. She's enjoying the meals, and she loves the rickshaw rides, I accompanied her last weekend and as we came back into the car park mum said 'ah, we're back home' I was so happy! I'd definitely recommend Davers Court should someone need residential care.
The building is very bright and modern but also very homely inside. I find the staff very warm, friendly, approachable and very caring. I am confident my mum is receiving a very high level of care from staff.
I can't thank the Davers Court Crew enough for all their support and care. They really do go above and beyond for residents and relatives - it really does feel like a huge extended family. It is so much more than a care setting. I am so pleased that my family member is safe, nurtured and treated like a valued individual.
Mum has been at Davers Court since the beginning of the year. It took a while for her to settle in and get used to her new setting. She is starting to flourish now she has got her confidence with the staff and her surroundings. Mum has become more involved with the many activities that are provided. Special thanks to one member of staff in particular who throws himself into everything he organises. Mum particularly enjoys the trips out in the minibus. There is always a happy atmosphere and all the staff are so friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. I am so pleased we found such a homely and happy place for my mum to live. Thanks to another member of staff in particular for helping to navigate the application process and finding a room at short notice when Mum's health took a turn for the worse, and for her ongoing support. Thank you to all the lovely staff at Davers Court.
