View Full Details of Finborough CourtI can't get to visit my Mum as much as I would like to, but she's always happy when I see her here, and all of the staff come across as very lovely, supportive and helpful. Thank you so much for everything you do for my Mum.
When visiting my father in law I consistently find the care providers friendly and caring, and on every interaction with my father in law, gentle and considerate. When I leave I am always so very grateful to know that he is the care of people who genuinely look after him. I can't speak highly enough of the home, its cleanliness, peaceful atmosphere and calmness of the staff.
My Dad was extremely well cared for in every way. We could not have asked for a more loving environment for Dad and he really enjoyed his two years there. We are most grateful to all who looked after him.
Throughout my father's stay at Finborough Court I observed first hand the care, conscientiousness and dignity that the staff treated and served him with. Being in such pleasant and positive surroundings proved to be such a tonic to dad in the later stages of his life. Over the time he was a resident I saw his personality shine and blossom. Much of this was due to the surroundings and environment, of love that was communicated by all who served at Finborough. I'm so glad that we took the step that we did as a family that gave dad those precious final years in this welcoming well run and friendly care home.
My father was welcomed to Finborough Court with care and respect. He settled quickly due to the great atmosphere and friendship of the team. The home is run professionally and attention is given to each resident and changed as needed. My father was very content and we as a family felt very confident that all was being done to make his last days the best they could be. The family are so grateful to the whole team at Finborough Court for all the kindness shown to Dad and us when we visited. It truly was the best place for Dad and we will remain so grateful to all folk who make the home special.
Outstanding care from a truly compassionate team. My mother lived at Finborough Court for almost four years until her recent passing. She had dementia and was profoundly deaf, yet the staff always found thoughtful ways to communicate with her, and treated her with such kindness, dignity, and patience. They really are an amazing team. During her final days, I stayed five nights and saw how exceptional the night staff were wearing pyjamas to avoid confusing residents at night was just one of many small, caring touches, working together like a well oiled machine! They gently cared for mum and supported me too - with warmth and compassion I'll never forget. I'm deeply grateful for the care she received. However, I do feel the need to mention the cost - almost £8,000 every four weeks - which places a huge burden on families and deserves review.
My father went into Finborough Court care home straight from hospital. The care he received was excellent and the staff were very friendly. Although he was only a resident for a short period of time he was well looked after and his dementia needs met. I would have no hesitation in recommending Finborough Court.
Our dad felt safe in Finborough Court and related well to all of the staff who quickly got used to his quirks. The care home is purpose-built, well maintained and clean. Personally, I think the rooms are on the small side, but there are two lounges plus outside seating available during the day. Food looked appetising and the catering staff would always provide something else if a resident didn't want what was on offer that day. At the end of his time, caring carers sat with him through the night as he slipped away - something the family really appreciated. The management team were always responsive and the whole environment was very welcoming.
Dad's dementia journey hadn't been an easy one and we were so grateful when Finborough Court agreed to take him into full time care. Dad was well cared for and we were kept well informed. As soon as you enter the door it feels like home and you know you can relax and your loved one will be safe. When dad reached end of life care we were able to visit whenever we wanted. Nothing was too much trouble and the staff looked after and supported us as well. Someone would sit and pray with dad until we arrived. They really cared. A room was made available for us if we needed a break and they brought us refreshments. When dad took his final breath they were there in seconds to support us and were genuinely upset at losing dad. We are so grateful for all they have done and cannot praise them enough. It truly is a remarkable place that we would readily recommend to anyone and we will be for ever in their debt.
We cannot praise the staff and general care at Finborough Court enough - they truly are very special! They have welcomed our mother from the first day, and shown high levels of care, support and consideration. We, and our mother, have full confidence in them and for mum, it truly is 'home'. Their communication with us is first class, we feel informed and involved and they always seem prepared to go 'the extra mile'. They are proactive and know their residents as individuals and care accordingly. Mum says that the food and activities are great and we are all looking forward to the 30th birthday party in June to celebrate what really is a very special place.
The admin staff always respond promptly to emails. The manager is always polite and respectful to mum, and knows her and her status/illness. The place is clean and doesn't have the usual' smell' of an old people's home. The residents are able to have drinks and biscuits when they like, and I like the layout of the dining room in the lounge, and vice versa. The activities are great and memorable.
I am very happy with the care my mother receives, she is always clean and well presented, the staff always show kindness and maintain her dignity and she feels safe and secure. Queries are always dealt with promptly and with patience. My mother now considers this her home which gives me and my sisters reassurance.
My dad has been living here for just over a year. The staff are friendly and will do anything to help either us as a family when we visit or my dad, he's always clean and tidy. When he first went there it was tricky because it was just at the end of covid, so visiting was strange to get used to, but now mum can go anytime, any day to see dad, the rest of us can phone up and make an appointment and can also see dad in his room, we can also take him out for a walk instead weather permitting, once back to normal we have been told that we can visit anytime and even sit in the lounge and dining room to have lunch or dinner together, which will be nice, but I'm glad they're not rushing into that and keeping dad safe. We as a family have found the transition hard to put dad there, but really am pleased he's in this care home as it's clean and friendly and he's looked after which gives us some peace as a family. Many thanks to you all.
I have only good things to say about Finborough Court, it is a lovely care home and mum is very happy here! The staff are very kind and caring towards her, there are many activities which she enjoys as well as various trips out and a lovely garden to sit in. It is a bright, clean, welcoming place to be in and as mum is amongst all her Christian friends it is the perfect place for her! I myself find the staff to be very friendly and approachable and they always keep me very well informed as to how mum is doing! The only thing that I am unhappy about really is the COVID rules that are still in place despite many other establishments having eased theirs, we are all responsible adults and would not consider visiting our loved ones if we felt at all unwell let alone having COVID! I do miss not being able to be in the lounge with mum during a service or hymn singing and being restricted to only seeing her in her room means that she might miss out on these things if I visited at that time.
This has been my father's home for the past four years. It is important to us as a family that he has been well cared for in a supportive and Christian home with devotions each day and a service on Sunday. The home has been purpose-built with good bedrooms and a large lounge and dining room and other good facilities. I have always found the staff friendly and approachable, and they have dad's care at heart and deal with dad's dementia on a daily basis. Our only concern as a family has been the ongoing limitations to visits, particularly when two or more of us go we have booked a small lounge which restricts access to parts of the home. I still sorely miss sitting with dad in the main lounge and singing hymns together, seeing him join in activities in the main lounge and being able to join him for meals, which he so enjoyed pre-covid days.
As a family, we are very satisfied with the care given. Extra attention has been given to medical needs as well as general care. The home is always clean and never any unpleasant odours. Although I live a distance away from the home I am confident that the quality of care is maintained always.
Our mum has been in this care home for over a year. We have always been impressed with the care and attention to detail that all of the carers give. Mum is always dressed in matching clothes and her hair always looks good. We feel mum is treated with great dignity too. Mum's face lights up when any carer walks into the room. Her room is always clean and tidy. We are particularly impressed with how we are always informed of everything that happens regarding our mum. We are always made to feel very welcome when we visit, and it's very clear that everyone involved at the home have their residents well being at the top of their list.
Delighted my parents are together and very well looked after, happy and content. All staff are welcoming, polite, genuinely show respect and dignified care. They work hard and are sensitive to individual needs. I am assured they are safe and receive good care and attention. Laundry and the cleanliness of the home are immaculate and very impressive. My parents always appear well dressed, clean and looked after. For it to be even better - spiritual needs, particularly arranging regular holy communion. Food and variety of drinks are plentiful. Quality of food varies - excellent, particularly homemade soup and cakes. But inedible tough, thick chunks of cold meat and unappetising cold savoury snacks eg. sausage rolls. I feel exceptionally fortunate to visit when I can but hope all restrictions will soon be lifted so other family and friends can visit more easily, most report finding it very difficult due to having to make restricted appointments and sitting in a rather sterile visitors room.
Terrible care home, unfriendly staff. Feel the residents are not really looked after well. Just left in their rooms. Basic needs are too much effort. Zero empathy for visitors' feelings. Would not leave an animal in this care home, never mind a loved one. Made up their own rules during covid and still doing so now covid is no longer an issue. I've had dealings with many care homes for other relatives and this is by far the worst. We dread visits because of the greeting and treatment we are met with. I genuinely feel sorry for all the residents just left disorientated and lonely in their rooms. The manager is by far the rudest person I have ever dealt with. Understaffed all the time. Buzzers are constantly going and left for well over 5/10 minutes. The one bench you can sit on in the garden is surrounded by animal poo.
My experience of Finborough Court Care Home is extremely positive. Care is of a very high standard. Residents are assisted as necessary and always present as neat, tidy and well cared for. Staff are very friendly, the home is light, airy and kept very clean. The staff are always happy to provide information about your loved one. As a Christian home, there are a number of services for the residents to either attend or listen to in their room. Activities are provided and encouraged. Outings were also provided in the past and will hopefully be reinstated when safely allowed after Covid restrictions.
