View Full Details of Breage HouseBreage house is a home from home which is the most important thing when you have decided to let go of your family member to a residential establishment. My sister has been a resident for many years and we feel she is treated with respect, dignity and love in a safe environment. We as a family feel included, we are able to visit anytime to share my sister's home with her and the residents and always made to feel welcome. Management are in regular communication to keep us informed. The staff are kind, thoughtful and very hard working and most recently they have gone the extra mile to take my sister to met our elderly parents who now can't drive, that means a lot, thank you.
My brother has been a resident for many years. He is not just a resident, he is part of the Breage House family. I find the care for him to be exceptional; the staff are outstanding, and the management is a testament to the longevity of how long the staff have been working there. This isn't just a care home, this is his home.
My brother had medical issues that meant frequent hospital stays but the home always send staff to stay with the residents so that they have a familiar face at their bedside, and someone who really knows them to liase with the doctors & nurses. I visited in January and it was great to see the benefit that this was bringing to my brother.
Our daughter has been a resident at Breage House since the day it opened ,and it's grown from strength to strength as the years have passed by ,she is very happy with her home life ,and her housemates ,as it's home from home , the staff are all very supportive in all her needs. The management are always up to date in her health care packages, , as prescribed by doctors and consultants, her food prep as for her likes ,her hair cuts and manicures .She is taken out and assisted with her shopping for clothing, and daily necessities ,and also local activities, ,ie, circus when in the area ,site seeing, meals out with staff support on all occasions . As parents we are kept completely informed and updated to all her requirements as and when things develop that affect her, we live with the piece of mind that her every need is cared for. The house has an open door policy , parents and visitors can call at any time without prior arrangements to visit the residents, and always made welcome.
My daughter is very well looked after at Breage House. She is doing very well due to the calm, care and dedication of the staff. There is never any rush and she is now very settled and happy. Her room is always very clean and homely. I love the fact that she is either out on a trip or sharing in activities. Wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Breage House is a wonderfully happy place to be. The staff are super cheerful and always happy to help. My daughter absolutely loves living there and has grown in confidence since last September when she took up residence.
Our daughter has been a resident at Breage House since it opened and over the time to date, it's gone from strength to strength with many changes of both staff and management and currently, it's in its best place ever. Great attention to detail in residents' health and well-being, It has an open-door policy for visiting at any time without prior contact. Residents are invited to attend various activities outside of the home for entertainment and social events at their discretion and the residents' relatives and carers are kept fully informed regarding any changes that affect the residents who are fully supported at all times.
A very well-run care home with a wonderful manager and staff. The standard of care is first-class. Residents appear to be treated with love and understanding and I'm happy to feel my brother is in such good hands. The staff need to be valued and I am aware that poor pay has led to difficulty in retaining and attracting staff... a situation that is nationwide apparently. The facilities are good but why aren't the gardens better used? Because the only work done is cutting grass! If Swallowcourt employ a gardener, maybe they could encourage tidying up and planting some flowers for colour and scent, especially near the lounge in spring and summer! The wonderful gazebo is rather wasted as there needs to be suitable access for wheelchairs... maybe an oversight? I'm sure that these improvements would be appreciated by the staff as well as the residents!
My brother received excellent, considerate care during his 2-3 year stay at Breage House. The staff were tolerant and were able to diffuse difficult situations during his time there as my brother was not always easy to deal with. Breage House has a homely and caring atmosphere and we were made very welcome despite visiting unannounced on most occasions, the residents appeared to be treated as part of an extended family. During the period prior to his demise, we were kept informed and consulted about the management of his health care issues at all times
Home always very clean and staff caring and friendly. My brother is extremely happy there and is well looked after.
An excellent care home providing a good level of care. Staff very friendly.
